[Q] Need help with atrix - General Questions and Answers

I am new to flashing phones, so please bear with me about my nooby questions.
I was trying to install an customized ROM and what I understood was I needed to unlock the bootloader first. So I followed some tutorials and flashed my phone with sbf I found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1136261. I owned a bell version atrix with 2.3.4 OS the time I flashed. After I was done with flashing and rebooted my phone I noticed nothing apparent changed. The only thing that changed was my available RAM was dramatically reduced to 100MB from usual 500MB. And when I was about the unlock the bootloader, it won't let me do so because my PC couldn't find my phone in fastboot mode. I searched around and tried every solution that I found like drivers, and still couldn't find my phone. What I am going to do now? I am afraid to go forward because I heard someone bricked his phones from this stage. nor can I go backward because I don't know what will happen if I flash anyther SBF file. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

[Q] I think I messed up my old phone

Hello,
Totally new to this Forum, and to the idea of rooting/unlocking phones at home. Hopefully someone can help or provide guidance. I'm sorry, I'm sure this answer comes up somewhere on here, but I have not searched.
Here is my predicament.
I got a new phone, and was going to try to root/unlock my old phone (Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant i9000M) for my GF's daughter.
So...I downloaded Odin 1.3 and ran the instructions as I found them on another site. They supplied the link to a *.tar file that would root the phone. After I ran that, the phone would power on...but not pass the Splash screen. When it boots the i9000M turns to i9000 and the lights on the front of the phone flash..and it stays on that screen.
I downloaded a different version of Odin (1.85), a new tar (CF-Root-XX_XEU_JPY-v1.3-BusyBox-1.17.1) and pit (s1_odin_20100512) files. I've run all of those...and now the phone will not power at all. If I run into Download mode...it works.
Thoughts?
Is this phone able to be saved...or should I just take it with me to hockey tonight and practice shooting with it.
I got it all to work...after much reading and searching, I found the original Stock ROMS to bring me back to factory, then properly flashed and unlocked, got the SIM to work and even figured out how to set up the APN for internet access via the phone service....initially I only had it working on wifi.
A new question. Is an unlocked i900M (Bell) the same as any other i9000? I want to upgrade her past Froyo 2.2, because her app/game selection is rather limited. Everything I am finding references i9000...and doesn't say with it is a Gingerbread upgrade for a stock phone, or unlocked phone.
I apologize if these are noob questions, but I've never done this before.
Any help.guidance would be appreciated.
Matt

Restore Samsung Captivate Glide Bootloader (SGH-i927)

Hi all this great community, I have a serious problem with my phone Samsung Captivate Glide, and to install an application and hence fails to restart the logo of "samsung" and there can be hours, and try what they recommend in I have seen posts around here, removing the battery and waiting, by the way if I get both download mode and the recovery mode, and from there try to Re-Flasharlo the Official Stock ROM using Odin if I recognized and well if you did it correctly, but when I reboot again returns the logo of "samsung" and hence fails.
I also searched about it on google and other forums and especially the well known XDA say it is problem with the bootloader, now the question and doubt is like to recover or repair the damn bootloader, I searched on where to find some bootloader for my model, I have since seen some videos of other models of samsung as S and skyrocket with the same problem, there are the flash with odin also give the files of both the Bootloader, PDA, CSC, Phone callers flashing tools but I have found for my model.
I have also done the wipe's appropriate and even factory reset in the recovery mode and still nothing happen the logo.
By the way I had my phone updated to ICS 4.0.4 before I pass this problem because it came with Gingerbread 2.3, plus what I had rooteado with a program called "Kingo Android Root" which by the way is very effective and made me in less than 5 minutes without problem, I say all this for more information on this issue, if not affection to be something super-user.
I have also researched that used to do this with a "Riff Box Jtag" said the problem is not because I have no knowledge about it other than it requires special equipment
There will be some form of damage or repair this and my phone is garbage
I hope you can help me or guide me to do, I thank you in advance for your input and assistance.
Thank you ..
PD: sorry if my English do not understand because I do not know well

a pity for all phones compared to computers is that they don't have bios or similar, so when it's broken the rom firmware also flash fail is very difficult to fix especially for self tinker like me.

[Q] Here is what I have managed to do to my phone

THIS IS A QUOTESounds like you corrupted the partitions flashing all those bootloaders. There is really no random problems that pop up which can be solved by flashing bootloaders. You only need those if you specifically mess up your bootloader, or you need to update it. But you have successfully messed it up beyond my talent. If flashing the stock nj2 .tar in odin didn't fix it, you may need to use a debrick image. But I've never gotten myself in a position to need that so maybe someone else ca n chime in here. END QUOTE
This is what appears to be what I have done to my phone. I can boot to recovery and download mode but nothing I have tried so far has gotten me past that. {Another thing that bothers me is trying to get win7 to load the correct drivers for my phone. I've even tried turning off my internet connection but it still doesn't seem to install right except in kies or oden.} I tried to flash an SD card with a debrick image:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2660566 but nothing happened. I have the unified android skipsoft toolbox on my pc but I can't get win7 to install the correct drivers for the phone to use it! If someone can help I sure would appreciate it. The phone was rooted with a stock rom MK 4.1.2. I rooted it with Kies a couple of years ago. It's a Sprint SPH-L710 16GB I can't get the serial # because it won't boot to let me get it. I don't have the box.

mob30p to mob30m help (total newb)

hi,
my phone is practically useless with this latest update. the issues are well documented, so i won't go into that. what i would like to do is get my phone back to mob30m, or anything else that will fix the volume issues. google is taking forever to get this fixed.
my problem is, i am a complete novice, when doing these kinds of things. i have been looking around at forum threads to try to get the skinny, but a lot of this is contradictory. my specific aim is to do the following.
unlock bootloader
root
install twrp (or similar)
download the appropriate file to get back to mob30m.
and install that.
i need to know what is the most current (tried) methods of doing these steps.
any help would be greatly appreciated. i'm assuming there might be multiple links i have to look at to get these results, but just perusing these fora is baffling me.
thanks
All you need to do is download the appropriate stock rom and flash it to your phone using fastboot commands.
You'll need an unlocked bootloader which will cause a full wipe of your data on the phone.
You can also use this if you have a PC - http://www.wugfresh.com/nrt/
It can unlock the bootloader, flash a recovery, flash a ROM, root and other technical stuff.
