[Q] Updating apps only on wifi? - HTC Sensation

Is there already an option to update an app only by using WI-FI?
I still found nothing.
If its not on the market is there any custom rom wich has this option?

Hi, what i can think of is droid wall for root user and you can block Market in 3G and allow it in wifi.. other than that is LBE where you can set Market as not Trust it and everytime it will connect to net LBE will ask you I think ... if not just block it when on 3G or 4G and unlock it when on wifi
I hope this helped.

There is NO option to install applications from untrusted sources. This means anything on your SD card, downloaded from the web or over your wifi at home WILL NOT WORK. Naturally, you also cannot use the "su" command in terminal.
Therefore, you need to use ADB push in order to get anything done.
Here is an ADB guide Motorola Backflip for AT&T.
[ADB Setup Shortcut/Send to] Motorola Backflip
Once you have all that figured out, you can ROOT using [APP] z4root.
Hope this helps. Good luck!

[Q] htc inspire hot spot with root

so ive sucessfully rooted my phone found a rom that enables tethering
but what ive been noticing is my hotspot only says 3 g above it but my mobile network says h+
ive seen both say H+ when i was on a downgraded rom but it had no sound
im wondering why my rom says 3g there when network says h+ ive tried 3 diff roms now still havnt found one that fixes this or am i just stuck with 3g hotspot ?
i could be way offf here if someone could explain id appreciate it
H+ is really 3G so don't let that confuse you.
so its just the way the rom maker exploited the hotspot pretty much
im still getting same speed on my hotspot as my phone then

Yes exactly.
Try using the Speed Test app from the Market.
I just want to make sure, being that we are rooted (I`m using the LeeDroid ROM btw) if we use the stock Wifi Hotspot we should be fine right? Theres no need to download the google Wifi Tether for Root app correct?

Tether issues

Ok so I rooted my infuse. Froze the tether manager and using the google wifi app. My galaxy tab cannot find the wifi nor connect.
Thanks
I'm going to assume you meant Inspire not Infuse. I believe you'll need to create a separate APN for this, or you could just flash a custom rom that has it enabled by default.

For Inspire, you'll need a version of the google tether app 3.1 beta 5 or later and you'll need to enable the "Routing Fix" in the settings.

Apps using data

Is there a way to stop an App from using data? I mean, I don't want it to update constantly, or send and receive data, but only a particular app.
Your help is much appreciated!

Maybe turn on data saver on the battery and data manager menu itll keep things from updating over the network and use wifi only
Use droidwall,it's available in market.
But you need to root first.

There is 2 way you can do,to freeze the app so it won't running again using titanium backup pro or just block the internet connection using droidwall, but both need a rooted phone.
I use titanium to freeze att bloatware and droidwall to block access for some apps that keep running and using internet connection, since i use limited/volume base here.
What app that you want to block?

No error i just switch mobile data to on and i tried to browse the internet but nothing happen i can't browse the internet ..... before i root my mobile it was working
If I'm not mistaken, you said that you rooted your device to CM9 ICS, probably there's bug relating to data connection with the custom rom. If you only root it, supposedly, there's nothing wrong with your device, so I assume that you just flash it with CM9 ICS.
try to use other custom rom and see it if it work. If it doesn't then you can try check the APN setting. but if it work after you change the custom rom, then highly possible that the CM9 ICS has bug with the data connection.

There's the problem then. Ask your carrier what settings should be used and you should have a working connection.
