Media scanner seems to be running at random times, every few minutes sometimes. Using Valhalla. Any know causes?

I had an issue on KH2 where it wouldn't run. Rebooted and it was fine.
Saw that with Valhalla after i replaced the apk to change the media scanner icon and had to reboot.
I can't say that i have seen what you are experiencing. I would try repushing the apk file and rebooting.
Backuped and reformatted sdcard. That fixed it.

I originally thought this was a bug with Android 1.6 but it's occurring on my Captivate as well.
I typically create a couple folders on my main screen to hold currently used apps and games. However, after a random amount of time the folder won't open. If I reboot the device the folders work as they should but some random time later typically one (just now both) will stop opening. I haven't been able to figure out any trigger for it. I'll just wake it up one time and it won't work.
Has anyone else had this issue? ... and was able to fix it?

Are you using LauncherPro? I use LauncherPro and this happens to me as well. Like you, I can only get it to open after rebooting.

Yes I am using launcherpro. However I was using motive before so if it is related to the frontend it must be something that both of them are doing.
How else has experienced this? With or without launcherpro?

This has happened once to me while using launcherpro. The only thing out of the ordinary I was doing was using maps with agps. After awhile I noticed I could no longer slide to different home screens or open folders. Killing everything with ATK didn't fix it either. Worked fine after reboot.

Exactly the same symptoms, annoying. Not sure if it's LPro or Samsung / Android issue.. hopefully a bug fix soon.
I'm on cm7 nightly getting persistent force closes in the calendar. They always occur if I try and load an event by touching it in the week view but it has also happened doing other things. I've done a fix permissions but no success. Any ideas?

I'm currently running Valhalla Final with no other extra mods added to the ROM. Whenever I open up Hanging with friends, it force closes and I have to reopen it again for it to run properly. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Could be a permissions problem. Try to fix permissions, but first off, just try wiping the app's data through settings then reinstalling the app.

Using my phone as usual, went for a run. When I looked at my phone after my run, my phone icon is missing from the bottom of my screen (whatever that's called--it escapes me now) and from my app drawer. It's still present on my lock screen and the app still exists on my phone--as shown in the application manager.
Every other thread with this issue is either doing stuff with themes or ROMs, or they just removed it accidentally from the home screen. Not the case here.
Any way to fix this without doing a factory reset?
I'm running stock, rooted VRBLJ1

Seems like issue with your launcher, what launcher do you have? Try to reboot your phone, if stills not working go to settings->apps and clear data for your launcher.
Using the stock launcher. So what's the name of the launcher? Found several in app manager that could be it...

I just force stopped mine, cleared data and it reset it. That will undo all the customization if you had any. Hope that works.

Great. Got my phone icon back.
Now, anyone know what went wrong with the launcher or what got corrupted? I ask so that maybe next time we could fix the problem rather than having to clear the data and loose all customizations.
This used to happen on my phone, and it still happens on my wife's. Basically she presses call, and the call won't initiate for 30-60 seconds. The phone is rooted with factory fp1e. I just wiped it a few days ago, started fresh, and right now it is her only complaint. I've tried wiping cache and dalvik. I also tried to fix permissions with cwm 4.xx but the log says it's missing some sort of file. I tried permissions with ROM toolbox but it just spins for hours... I don't think it did anything.
I've been living with that annoying problem forever. Tweaked 3.2 stock or lazarus. I've had the problem way before 3.x or fp5 too

Try deleting cache or reinstalling software. It fixed it for me different times.

Mine does that too sometimes and rebooting seems to help for a bit. Sucks when trying to win something off the radio and you have to be caller #19 or whatever
Mine was doing the same but only worse. It could take minutes before it dialed. Even worse, it would dial while I was on the phone because I pressed "Send" so many times before. The problem is really bad for me because I have a older phone. Anyway, I fixed it by doing the following. I used Cool Tools, OS Monitor and Watchdog to look for runaway apps or processes that use too much CPU. I removed many tweaks I've added like SD boost and Dalvik Heap size and set them back to the stock settings. Using a tool like Rom Toolbox, set your CPU to maximum while the screen is on, normal when it's not. My CPU usage while idle is now very low (<5%). Cool Tool is a great tool for checking this. I also recommend you try CrossBreeder by idcrisis. It's better than the Seeder app, in my opinion. Good luck...
