Hey guys,
I am just became new htc sensation owner
In past few month I tried a lot of android phone, but htc stole my heart.
Few question:
I downloaded all my apps from market, what amazed me that i could save nearly every app on sd card. The apps which did not have option to be saved on sd cards on my htc incredible s 2.3.3, now can be saved on SD card on sensation.
I put some apps as shortcut on my homescreen, but after a while, app icons turns into green android system icons. Apps still working, but icons changing. Any idea? Also my gingerbread keyboard saved on sd cards, when i put input method to gingerbread keyboard, it changes after while to default.
Another question
My phone is on O2, i cant see any major branding cr$p loaded in phone. On start up no O2 screen, only one walpaper and one ringtone. I checked for firmware update, and it shows no updates availible. Software number is 1.34.206.1
Does anyone knows when 2.3.4 will be availible for O2 handsets?
So far very pleased with sensation. Battery life not bad. On the first use, lasted 15hr on one charge.
Your shortcuts at bring messed up because the home screen is loading before the sd card mounts. Really its best to instal to internal memory as much as you can, we have adequate flash memory available to us for ask but the most hardened app junkie.
Sent from my Leedroided Htc Sensation 4g!
Install on internal storage. 1 GB is more than enough for apps
Swyped from my HTC Sensation
I've so far got 20 apps on my phone and still have 0.99GB internal space - NO need to move them over to the SD card
Thanks guys,
Now everything works perfect, after moving some apps back to phone, issues are resolved.
Does anyone knows when O2 planing realise update?

Quick question, are you suffering the WIFI signal reduction when you hold the phone landscape?
Got my Sensation yesterday, very impressed with it, but have the back cover WIFI issue.

I just tested it in landscape mode, seems to be signal drops but only one bar.
This happens only if i hold phone in both hands in landscape mode, which is not big issue for me.

Had the phone for over a fortnight not encountered this issue myself.
Have you tried removing any self-installed apps and seeing if this still occurs? Could be one of the apps causing the problem.
nope.. i didn't - but I only have "standard" apps.. so they just need to work.. otherwise i cannot use the phone..
I haven't had any random reboots yet, have had it for 4 days now. How often does it reboot?
I had it about once a week
Mine reboots a lot, but only when Im doing something. Just minutes ago when I was using the browser, and just before when playing some game. Also it stayed all night in some kind of rebooting state, had to unplug the battery.... Had also to remove an unlock app that I think it was causing constant reboots...
It has original os.

oh no... not again!
I went through 4 Desire HDs because of the reboot problem. You would think HTC would sort this on their newer devices. It was a well known problem in the past and recognised by HTC too.
This also affects Legend, Desire, Desire HD and now Desire S
I have my desire hd for three weeks and it rebooted only one time and that was caused by poor irc app. Perhaps you should first uninstall your crap apps before bashing htc?

are there any RUU files there that we can flash to have the phone s-off?
I have the same problem in my phone it restarts 3 times in the first day
really I am fried its general problem from HTC
pls anyone can advise me what I do
For me, HTC Sense have restarted maybe 5 times in the last 2 weeks. It is not a complete reboot, but some error in HTC Sense that requires a restart of the software. I have sent reports using HTC Tell and the error is an exception regarding some bitmap that does not fit in memory. I guess this will be fixed eventually.
We haven't got that issue ever, Maybe you can refresh your device with other customized ROM.
I've had this problem, seems to be with HTC Sense itself since it's not a complete reboot and it recovers fairly fast. All the more reason to root and flash Cyanogenmod when an exploit and build comes out, this is my first Android phone and I'm not really enjoying Sense at all.
I suspect it might have something to do with memory card access. I plugged it into my laptop through removable disk mode and got an error message, and noticed it crashed when I tried to launch gallery which obviously accesses the memory card to find pictures etc.
So far I've sorted out memory card errors and I've removed all Sense widgets from the home screen and I don't seem to have any problems anymore!
For me this seems to somehow relate to alarm / clock settings, usually reboots shortly after this...
I had a reset when I was talking for more than 5 minutes
I've noticed it seems to stop when I'm using one of my own wallpapers, not an HTC Sense one.
It happens several times each day. Sometimes, after getting out of an app to go back to Home, it seems like Sense reloads. It shows the HTC white screen and then "Loading..." for a few seconds before the home screen shows up. It's not something that affects functionality but it sure is annoying. If someone knows how to fix this or why it is happening, please, let me know. Thanks.
this happens to me to, but it is everytime i install or update a new app

Just means that your device ran out of memory to hold sense in, and Since rosie (HTC Sense Launcher name) went out of memory (probably because the app you that you had running used up alot of memory and resources), your phone needs to reload rosie again. Happens to everyone at least once. My advice would be to not run so many apps at once, and take off some widgets/apps off the screen. Will lessen your chance of your sensation having to boot rosie from its memory. Hope i helped.
Thanks, Shaquiel, Good luck with unlocking the bootloader. I'm following your work
BTW, most of the time I'm just using the stock music app. I had already gotten rid of most widgets too.

The same thing is happening to my phone. I just did a wipe and I am still having the same problem.

Yes me too..........
sense`
I gave tmobile a call about the sense force close and they said that a 3rd party app may be causing the problem. Then I called htc and they said it is a defective phone and to request a replacement.
It may be due to heavy RAM memory usage slowing it down to a (how us ex-iPhone users say) respring to clear all the memory. Plus Sense is a beast that isn't cool towards RAM. Out of the box you see in the Task Manager you get at MOST 200mb and average 150mb.
Just wait for your phone to be S-Off and dip into the Roms. Get Gingerbread, real Gingerbread. Will defiantly lift the weight off of the RAM.

I had the same issue. I installed Launcher Pro and haven't had any issues since. It's a pretty common problem. I don't think its a defective phone.

I can't wait for S-off. I removed the Weather Clock widget and Sense seems to reboot less.
the sensation has 768MB but only 558MB in total there is something wrong
i've had occasional reloading before but every time I change a setting or open up text messages when I close out of that task it reloads Sense. At least 25 times in a row. Trying a reboot. I will have to go back to my N1 if this persists.

Delete the htc sense account and see if that fixes your problem.

I would but last time I did that I had to recreate another. I disabled all the syncs and changed from push to manual. Maybe that will have some impact- and possibly save my battery.
Any time the free RAM drops to a certain level Android will bump off Sense, as already mentioned. This isn't a bug per se, just a ramification of the device not having enough RAM (if it didn't have Sense it would have enough RAM, but Sense uses quite a bit). Happens to me whenever I use a high quality game, or if I have enough open tasks consuming RAM.
My phone reloaded sense several times a day. Every time I sideloaded an app, every time I played a game, every time I browsed the web for more than 5 mins...etc. I even tried a factory reset and the same thing kept happening. I got tired of that and my screen seemed loose so I took it back and got a brand new one a few days ago. The new one hasn't reloaded Sense once. I've sideloaded apps through Amazon, and played a few games, this one is MUCH better. I would recommed if it hasn't been 14 days since you bought it, try taking it back and getting a new one if Sense is reloading constantly. It worked for me!

If there isn't a memory leak in Sense they are guilty of horrible product design. This was happening to me after doing nothing at all without a ton of widgets or other background apps.

My replacement just arrived so I will see how it goes. What is your date/country of origin/serial prefix on your current unit?
My first unit was a Taiwan Sharp 6/2/11 HT162T
This one I havent opened is a China 6/7/11 SH167T.
son of a *****........****ing D U S T smh - of course the power button is fine. Another 14 days on this one. Getting tired of this crap.
After failing at updating my phone and sending it to LG to have it done I am having so very annoying issues. Applications seem to just randomly dissapear everyday. I download it, useit, and everyday at some point I go to play a game or use a app I downloaded and it says application not installed. Like I delted it or something. Icon is still on home screen, but when I go to market place every app I downloaded says no installed. I even switch apps to my micro sd card to save phone memory. What gives? Also wifi doesnt work anymore. takes for ever to connect, and when it finally does connect the internet doesnt work. When I try to watch youtube videos or browse it takes forever for things to download or upload even with FULL 4G (from reading around TMO did a little false advertising as you dont know when you "actually" have 4G or 3G on this phone unless you go to phone info and check. BS if you ask me). Videos will play for a few seconds and buffer until I just give up.
While I love the update for the eye candy I am not impressed with the performance. Phone service seems to be better. I have full bars more otfen, but the performance isnt up to par.
I am also wondering if my wife having the HTC sensation has something to do with the slow DATA. As she watches alot of youtube and browses the net alot on her phone. Could TMO be slowing our Data b/c of over use?

The apps disappearing probably has to do with your sdcard. When the apps "disappear" is your sdcard mounted to your phone? If your sdcard is mounted to your computer via USB cable, or if your sdcard is removed, then any apps that you've moved to your sdcard won't load.

Yes my sd card is in my phone. They dissapear randomly while not connected to the computer.
i get that problem sometimes...i have redownloaded scrabble 4 times bcuz of it...dedicated lol

I had this problem for a while when on froyo. It was one of the problems I complained about on LG's forum, along with wifi not working right. After getting a refurb and the GB update, wifi still doesn't work right. Haven't had the app problem anymore though.
Yeah it pisses me off b/c I didnt have these problems before. I had the reboot problem but noticed they were far and few between when I did a hard reset. Its a BS I had to do that but it was the only thing I could do to keep it from rebooting. Then no more then 5 minutes of having my phone back it reboots in the middle of a phone call lol. I guess I can deal with having to do hard resets and downloading games apps multiple times, but I would really like to get my wifi up and running again.
I have an XE that is extremely slow at doing everything. When I update apps, go through a menu, load my text messages, exit from a game. Even silly stuff like loading my contacts (and I don't have many). Sometimes after doing one of the above and go to return to my home screen, I get a white screen with the htc logo in the middle, followed by a loading screen. It's really annoying too as it can take a good 10 seconds until my widgets etc. are back and my home screen is responsive.
I updated it to ICS a few months back and it's been like it ever since. When gingerbread was on my phone I never really had any problems. It can't be memory as I have over half free, and I don't have many apps.
I'm quite disappointed because I moved from the iPhone, wanting something a bit more open and powerful, and I thought this was the perfect kinda phone for that.
I've looked around XDA to see if anyone else has the same problem, but I've come across nothing.
Any help is greatly appreciated
Why you don't install ARHD 6.6.7 (the last version actually)?
Perform a full wipe or use a custom ROM - you won't regret that one.
Sent from my customized HTC Sensation with TTP 2
Thanks for your replies! I think a custom ROM is best bet, and ARHD looks pretty awesome!
I think the stock ROM's just utter .. to be honest.
I don't think a full wipe would help, I did a factory reset a few weeks ago to no avail.
Thanks for your help anyways

That's what I was thinking, but the stock apps like text messaging and contacts are also slow, so..
Are you on Vodafone? The vodafone ICS update has that issue. One thing to try is to disable "fast boot" from the settings, switch off the phone, remove the battery and restart it.
Apparently bad hibernation files can cause that issue. Personally I ended up installing a custom rom to solve the issue. Vodafone has been very unresponsive on this issue which many have experienced!
Have noticed over the last couple of days that my phone has become very slow.
It's a sim free phone in the UK and completely stock. I have not installed anything new app wise or made any kind of changes I can put it down to. When first purchased I found the phone to be very snappy in and out of apps despite the mid range hardware and 2gb ram.
I have no more than a dozen as installed . Just don't understand what's going on as it seems like there is a delay when you select anything or switch in and out of the app tray etc.
Rebooting it doesn't help?
Funny enough it does seem to have improved things. It was almost like the old Samsung slow down the get on the galaxy phones. Very strange, will just have to monitor it and see how things go.

What ext sd card you are using? And did you merge it with internal sd card?
If not and your phone is just as simple and clean as you mentioned just earse it to factory default by going to reset

My doesn't get hot, it just stupidly slow, and really annoying, but O2 haven't related the 6.0.1 Firmware so maybe that might fix the performance? otherwise I might root it and overclock it a little...
Really annoying as its only 4 months into a 2 year phone contract!

In that case i suggest you to contact htc support or your carrier to demande a new device.
try root thing at last when you have no solutions or into a dead end.
Because root will remove the warrant.

I have 4 HTC devices, all of them are no issues.
Try to use a Task killer app, perhaps the 2GB ram have reached max capacity, kill some apps that you are not using and for the love of God disable Google bloatwares like hangout.google books...
My A9 has become extremely slow in the last couple of days.. I have tried dumping cache, cleansing apps, but nothing is working .. it seems that alot of people are experiencing the same thing at the same time .. what is going on ? This phone is becoming an embarrassment for the price I paid for it.
Yeah mine too. It's starting to drive me mad.
Texting is getting worse. Starts fine and just doesn't seem to keep up.
mine too... i'm starting to think about changing rom to cyanogenmod...
It's somehow weird to see that most people who are complaining here are new created account just to say bad things about the A9....SAMSUNG PAID DUDES AGAIN
I kinda have same issue, the phone has been turning off on it's own the last couple of days and then one time when i turned it on a lot of it's features aren't working, notifications doesn't show up on the notificationbar and i can't use shortcuts for gps,etc from it anymore and the onscreen home button doesn't get me home and the touch button doesn't too,it so slow and takes time to load the apps so i can tap on one of em,idk what happened, please help!
I bought one for my girlfriend, HTC one A9 16gb but with more than 5 completely lost... At the beginning everything was just fine, great speed and performance.
Because of it's lack of memory I decided to use the SD card as internal storage, micro SD 64Gb Sandisk class 10. After the format the HTC showed alert about the speed of the SD, it could not be enough fast.
After reinstalling apps and moving the heaviest to the SD it started to be very slow, WhatsApp took too much to open and even Google maps couldn't load properly, taking ages to work.
I ended up taking the SD out, using it as normal external storage. It went back to normal and now works good, the only thing now is that she only had 1.5Gb left for the apps and it runs out super fast just because of the thumbnails images and cache.
Has anyone tried with a high speed SD? Or has noticed this same problem?
