Crashed stock OS. Log? - T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide

I just crashed the OS on my phone. I sent the crash log to HTC. I read it before I sent it, but now I can't find it on my device.
Any idea where it is? I really want to read through it again, and file it for my own records.

Try /dev/log/main
Not sure if that's what you're looking for but there are other logs in that directory as well.

Discussion of WIP-ROM - HTC Sense Froyo Android 2.2.1

Post Questions here for the HTC Sense Froyo Android 2.2.1 ROM. Please do not clog up the dev thread with individual issues. I.E. If it should be obvious issues, and your the only one having it, it's an individual issue!
Also this is for any general questions you have for Zen, Beezy420 and nfx on the rom.
I vet error at line 93 saying write at boot.img or something like that.

Ok. I don't know I'm the only one with this issue and haven't read about it on the forums, here is the question: how can I activate dtmf in order to access bank accounts, etc dialing manually from my hero?
Thanks.

I have seen weird things like that happen before on other roms. Try redownloading and if that doesn't work, flash another Rom and then wipe and retry this one.

Are you guys updating the list of outstanding issues on the Dev thread?
(meaning once the WIFI's resolved, then GPS and camera will be the primary issues with this rom?)
Also, I've read about issues with the mobile networking... is that a rom issue, or a kernel issue? (waiting to try it, but this is my primary phone and really can't afford to foul it up...)
way to go..this will hopefully help out the with clogged up ROM threads.
i just picked up a hero and probably gona flash it to metro, been trying out a couple of the sense roms, but between the droid and hd2 i got used to froyo. im kinda curious as to how much of a performance boost it will be. i know it did wonders for the droid. hope this gets finished soon
Just flashed this again for the first time since this project first started and man, it works 10x better
And on the camera? Holy crap! I love it! I don't care if it get's fixed myself
Reminds me of that music video...
http://www.mtv.com/videos/a-ha/7846/take-on-me.jhtml
OMG 80's flashback! haha.
..does anyone else notice their 3g seems to be a whole cry faster with this rom? heh. hope I don't get booted off the network for being a bandwidth hog
The only thing keeping me from flashing this again is the camera issue. As soon as the camera is fixed I'll be happy to use this again as my daily use Rom

Flashed this again, camera is sorta important but meh i'll live till its fixed

Go to the superuser apk on your phone and it will say a new version is out and to reboot.
Reboot into recovery and flash the new superuser file.

Market 3.3.11

Hey guys,
I just saw this on G+ and thought I'd share this. It works for me and is the new look from outside in. If it force closes, just go into settings/ applications/ manage applications ( probably didn't need to write all of that) and clear data. Is supposed to be faster. http://db.tt/I3aaNgI6. I hope this link works from ny dropbox.

I get that sometimes downloading something from the market itself. What file manager are you trying to install from? Maybe it's a bad download or did you try deleting your current market before installing this one? I don't know if this market is already uploading automatically on our phones yet or not, it might be by now.

My guess is that the apk strictly a system app (not signed or w/e) so you cant just straight up install it.
Push it to the /system/app dir manually, then see if it works.

"omg, a newb asking an apk question, KILL HIM!"

I know I know... There are a lot of things I am good with... android...is new for me.
I have a galaxy note and I dont know the first thing about .apk files or rooting, etc.... I dont mind the way it works now... BUT
I want S Voice. (duh)
as you can see from my sig... Its be A WHILE since I have hacked/modded phones. Then I went to the iPhone for a few models and now I am back...
I downloaded "apkinstaller" and "appinstaller" but niether will load the apk I got off of xda.
I loaded the .apk to my external sd and made enables the ability to load apps that arent from the android market.
Do I need to delete something? Or what... I really need someone to give me a "step by step, you're an idiot" way of getting this done. I really dont want to root my phone if I dont have to.
Thanks to anyone who helps!
you shouldnt need to root to install apk's as long as you have checked off ability to install apps that arent from market. I have been doing that from my dropbox since my phone was stock everything. Maybe the apk is broken. Try downloading it again. Maybe even try downloading another apk just to test if it installs properly.
I will try that now.

Done.

actually I dont think that S Voice is an apk. From what I read quickly is that it needs to be flashed via CWM. Which is a bit more complicated than installing an apk.
This is the one I JUST downloaded (dl'd this one to my phone)... not working.

I dont really have the time to read up on all of it but from what I have you may need to be rooted and remove voice talk first. I think a few of the custom ROMS also have S Voice installed on them already. This is a trickier apk than usual. Would be great if someone with more experience on S Voice would jump in and show you the steps. Sorry I couldnt be of more help.

not sure if this needs to be pushed to system/app rather than installed?
if it won't install I'm sure you'll need to be rooted.

say what? (told you I am a newb)
it is, in this state (unrooted), impossible to get it working.
You need to have root-acces (which you stated you don't have), because you have to replace the usual voice talk with the S-voice application.
You can of course root your phone, read up, and install the mod.
OMG you're such a NOOB! Kidding, just kidding. Well no actually, but that's just how it is

I haven't seen this issue at all. What ROM are you running? Did you notice this after installing something or did it just start one day/when you received the phone? Try wiping the cache/data from both the Email/Exchange service apks and reboot (will have to redo the information on email) to see if the issue goes away. If not, then it sounds like something messed up when software was installed and may need a reset (can try the stock ROM if running that in Original Development if that's what you are on, may correct the issue with fresh flash). Good luck.

Att one x won't even check for updates

I did manage to download the first 16mb "pre-update" but every time I go to check for updates it won't do anything at all. I've tried restarting and even changed between a few apns and nothing helps? Ive seen people having this problem but no solutions. Can anyone help me?

So there's really no simple way to do this. I have the otapkg.zip in my phone but it's only 2.57 kb. Could it be a failed download? I got a message that HTCdm stopped working earlier. Sorry for the noobish question, even after a year on android in not all that familiar.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
It doesn't seem all that difficult to me. As long as you're SuperCID and s-off it should be simple. Did you read the whole thread? There's nothing I can really tell you here that hasn't already been said there. Your simplest option is the RUU.
Sent from my Evita
Yea I read pretty much all of it, I'm completely stock so I'm not sure what amount applies. The only reason I was trying to get around manually downloading it is that my horrible internet connection at home which makes it a full day of downloading.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Either way, you're gonna have to download it somehow. The RUU is the easiest way. If you ever want to modify your phone though it must be done before taking this update because the current exploit has been patched in the update. You'll get a much better experience on a custom ROM but that's entirely up to you.

Could be. Delete it and try to check for the update again.
I tried that and deleting the data on the Google services framework too, got nothing. So I guess this weekend I'll do the ruu.
