Hey guys. I'm sorry if this is posted in the wrong section or if it has already been answered. I searched but didn't find it answered.
I got my wife a 4g slide and we tether. I do with my SNS and was doing it with the old G1. I go away for work so her phone gets to tether then. Anyway when we click to tether it says it requires drivers but I don't know where to find them.
EDIT: I found it. There is a HTC driver in the microSD card.
It is also available for download at htc's site, that's where I got mine

OK i did this with the samsung captivate. I used titanium backup and uninstalled the TehterManager that AT&T puts on the phone to let them know if you paid for the service or not. It gave free wifi to my cousins phone.
Now I just bought the HTC Inspire 4G today and I rooted it and tried to delete the same TetherManager. I thought it was on all android devices but its not. So is there another way to disable the AT&T tether notice. I have downloaded the tethering app from the android wifi tether site, but i don't like it. I would have the built in wifi tether to work instead.

I found a way. Follow the steps on this site. At the end restart your HTC Inspire 4G and your good to go.

I am so sorry if my question is dumb but I installed Revolution HD on my phone HTC sensation 4G today and since then my phone says "3G" only, I do not know what happened with the 4G network..
The ROM I installed (Revolution HD) modified the way I get the signal? or that's nothing even related to it?
What is the best ROM for this phone so far?

My friend, the 3G icon is not linked with the Radio, its just an icon from the Euro Roms.
you are not loosing bars, signal, etc its just an icon.
I could've swore I used that Rom last week with the 4G icon... On TMOUS that is.
I wish there would be a sticky about this for T-Mobile USA users.
Actually no. If they were too stupid to not search in the first place, a sticky wouldn't be any more useful.

Is anyone able to use it on the AT&T One X or know of a similar app?
Or do I just have to download one of the available mods in the dev section?

Install MarketAccess. This app allows you to spoof other carrier markets. Spoofing T-Mobile 310260 should pretty much give you full market access.

That's weird. I just pulled it up on the Play Store and I have no problem. Has it compatible with all my devices (all AT&T).

I know this is an old thread but I'll try anything at this point. I've tried a bunch of stuff so far. I've downloaded a .apk that was supposed to remove ATT's block on the tethering which didn't work. I then tried to install CM10 which goes through all the install motions in TWRP and reboots. After reboot it sits on the CM logo forever never booting into CM10 so I had to restore it to stock. I've tried apps in the market and of course the Att lock blocks them as well. So I figured I'd try this one and it doesn't work on my HOX either.
All I can say is that ATT and/OR HTC have got this tethering thing all locked down this time. I had no problems installing CM or getting the hotspot unlocked on all my previous devices... Kinda regretting getting this HOX now. hotspot worked great on my Inspire and my HD2
I tried to install the FoxFi from the market but nothing showed up in the search results so I downloaded that market spoof which allowed FoxFI to showup..... Installed FoxFi and it activates the hotspot but when I try to connect with my Laptop it says it cant connect.
We are in a unique situation here and not really sure what to do to get my phone to act as a hotspot. Very Frustrating!
The Aluminum skin on our coach blocks most if not all campground wifi signals from coming in, yet my phone still has a good signal so I figured I could just use my phone as the device to get online while inside the coach. Can't sit outside at night, the skeeters will carry you off. Rains most of the day so it makes it very difficult to get online.
We've been with ATT for so long that the geico caveman is going to join ATT so we do not want to change our plan in anyway.. (We're grandfathered into a really old plan from like 7 years ago that is $40 a month...This new plan they want to sell us is $200 a month with the hotspot built in..... wowzers!
Any suggestions?

root your device, download sql editor lite and open, vendorsettings->settings.db and find entitlement check in that long list.. once you find it, change its value from 1 to 0.. now you can use tether..
Hi, this is my first post in this forum.
A month ago i purchased an unlocked ATT HTC One X that i'm using on Rogers, i live in canada. I have read and tried all sorts of different things from different threads to get wifi tethering to work, but so far i can't make it work. I spent a long time on the phone with rogers tech support, and they are convinced that the problem is that my tethering APN has been deleted in the unlocking process.

But, since i'm new i can't ask questions there.
If i try to follow the automatic instructions, i run into the problem that i am not in an LTE zone, so i don't think ltemobile.apn will work for me. (the Rogers tech support guy suggested to use either ltedata.apn or rogers-core-appl1.apn)
With the manual install method i have ES File Explorer installed, but i can only seem to see /sdcard/ and i can't find, /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/telephony.db this seems like something that should be really simple..
i'm very new to android, any help would be appreciated!

are you on stock rom? att rom?
wifi tether as in usb? or wifi hot spot?

For those who find this on google, basically the solution for me ended up being installing a different rom, the viper xl one.
Hey everyone, I just got a mytouch 4g replacement sent to me for 5$. The new phone is here but my current mytouch is rooted. I cant seem to find the pd15mg zip anywhere but i was wondering would they get mad if i mailed them this rooted phone? people have said for other phones they mailed it in rooted and it didnt seem like a problem. any help?
