For those interested, our phone handles the Amazon Prime Instant Video stuff very well. If you're an Amazon Prime customer, you get loads of "free" streaming videos via multiple sources.
I watched Batman today, great quality. I recommend a browser like Dolphin HD over stock.
We may not have Netflix, but this is a semi-decent alternative especially if you're already an Amazon Prime customer.

I've decided I want a streaming device, I already have the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet, Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, an RGH'd Xbox 360 Slim, a PS3, a PS4, and a non-rooted Chromecast. Since I have basically every device I need at this time, which would benefit me more? A rooted Chromecast would let me stream whatever local content I need, whereas a Fire TV would be more for gaming and possibly some Netflix. Which, for local streaming and everyday use, would benefit me more? Rooted Chromecast costs $100 on eBay and Amazon Fire TV costs $100 on Amazon.
Requirement: Must be in Brand New Condition, no Refurb. / used. My local shop sells the Nexus 7 2013 16GB for $150, I want to know what other options do I have before buying the Tablet. I mainly use the Tablet for watching Twitch TV, Web browsing, a little bit of Internet Radio / Video, Offline GPS Navigation. This would be my first Android Device. ^_^

Honestly, a new Nexus 7 for $150 can't really be beat. Anything cheaper will be greatly inferior, anything better (like a 32GB Nexus 7) will be over your $200 price range. The only thing that can compare is a Kindle Fire HDX 7", if you can find one. It's a beast of a tablet, so video and gaming will be great on it. But you're stuck within Amazon's ecosystem, plus I think it's discontinued since all that I see on Amazon's website is the 16GB version with "special offers" (ads).
Just a thread to share leads to any deals/discounts on the Nexus Player. And personally, I prefer deals on the device brand new in the box, fully sealed and manufacturer warranty covered. (Used and such can always be found at a discount.)
For the moment, the best deal I know of. Is Amazon and BestBuy.com's $69.99 deal. For the band new in the box sealed, with full manufacturer warranty Nexus Player.
With the Apple TV at that same price, I figure the deal will stand for some time.
But I hope more deals for the Nexus Player come and we can share them all here .
After using the nexus player for the last month, I'm seriously considering replacing our aging Rokus with NP's - especially at this price point. The only thing that we would be missing is Amazon Prime, which we use very rarely. But we'd be picking up a better interface and we could also run Kodi on the same box. Wasn't there a deal not too long ago where they were selling for $70 plus a $20 google credit?

Instead of "replacing" the Rokus. Why not keep both? I've got several Rokus myself. I'm supplementing things with Nexus Players. The Roku is nice, but it can't touch the games on Nexus Player. Plus, Nexus Player seems to have a better future. I don't know if channels such as Haystack TV could ever be setup for Roku.
And on the other hand, Roku has many channels that Nexus Player does not yet have. As you mentioned, Amazon Prime, which I doubt Amazon will ever make work on Nexus Player. Since Amazon never supported Chromecast at all.
I like One America News Network, which is on Roku. They're looking to expand to Nexus Player though. But still, there's no expense involved in keeping the Rokus. So the best of both worlds can be enjoyed.
You can get the Nexus Player for $50, by paying for 3 months of Sling TV service up front ($49.50).
The Amazon.com price has dropped, to $66.34.
Walmart $67, bought today

Amazon.com price has crept up to $67.11.
Amazon now has it for $64.78 http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00S8U5A7W/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new
Maybe they will go as low as Chromecast prices[emoji1] . Hey, a man can dream... And it could happen by some means.
Saw this a few days ago and figured it was too good a deal to pass up. I missed out on the free one as I picked up my Pixel XL on a different deal. Bestbuy has the Daydream VR for $49.99 with free 2 day shipping.

Or you can buy it from Google direct for the same price. VR from all vendors isn't taking off, hence price drops. Like 3D for TV. My 3D glasses are sitting unused in a drawer. That said, it's a fun thing to try for $50. Pictures taken with photosphere are amazing on daydream VR. Almost like being there again.

Anyone suggest, link what the daydream VR can be used on/for? Does it work as remote cast viewing a game on PC?
I currently have an ASUS Zenpad Z300M 10.1 inch tablet, and it is a nice little budget tablet that is great for watching shows and movies, reading books and comics, and surfing the web but it is increasingly looking like it is never going to get an Android 9 update. I have been looking at this Nvidia Shield tablet and I think it looks pretty good, I have a desktop PC with an ancient Nvidia graphics card that still gets updates and it's been good to me, and I'm wanting a tablet I can play some of the better Android games on - and since Nvidia is already so connected to gaming I'm thinking it might be good for a gaming tablet. I looked around Amazon for one of these and didn't find much. What would be a good place (online only) where I can buy one of these at a decent price?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
I found mine on fb marketplace for $200, used like new condition. I've seen similar deals on there before I finally bought this one. Of course, trolling ebay and craigslist is always an option as well. Good luck in your search!
Hi there bloodredskies. I've seen several different models come and go, and my personal advice (in addition to that from GreeveDogg) is to set up saved searches on both eBay and Swappa.com.
I've seen a number of WiFi models as well as WiFi + LTE models go by because of that. With saved searches (or "subscriptions" as they're called at Swappa) you'll get emailed when a new listing is created.
From what I've seen eBay can be ok, however there's a lot less junk at Swappa.
Thank you both for the info! Haven't heard much about Swappa before, looks like I'll have to check it out.
