Hello,
has someone bought a bike mount for the Sensation?
I am currently lokking for one but can't find any.
For my former phone I had an Herbert Richter mouint which fits perfectly. But I can't find any from that company. I just found this one:
http://www.onni-tec.de/blog/items/n...-samsung-galaxy-s-plus-sofort-verfuegbar.html
Does someone have experience in one?
if you do any bumpy road riding at all, I would highly discourage bike mounts. Most mounts require you to remove any protective case, and that spells potential disaster with a capital F.
My poor pristine Nexus One popped out on my second ride and was scarred and cracked for life.
The shiney new Sensation will be staying in the camelback or padded armband for sure.
see this post for my experience with a bike dock.
That said, I suppose a dock that had a breakaway mount with excellent padding might be okay...
I had a bike mount for my hd2 .. worked great for a while.. one day it launched off my bike.. destroyed my phone.. never will do it again.. on trying to figure out an arm band to keep it on me and still be able to see it...
sent from my super sensation
I have had this one for my Hero:
http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150629647457
Worked perfect, never had problems with. Really a great manufacturer.

Hello all,
Has any of you come across a decent bike mount for the HTC Desire?
I'm talking more along the lines of the BioLogic mount for iPhone than the Amzer Bicycle Handlebar Mount For HTC Desire which doesn't seem to cover the rain issue very well
I've just sent an email to Dahon to know if they're planning on making a mount for Desire or if the iphone one might be compatible...
Thanks a bunch!
Benoît
I used this bag from Velotrac (http://www.velotrac.com/) with my Desire, it fits perfectly and it's still possible to use the screen through the plastic cover. You also have spaces inside to put your keys or coins or powerbar...
That Velotrac looks pretty neat. Able to store wallet and keys too. $36.84 USD with shipping to UK though, approx £25. Anyone seen anything similiar but cheaper in the UK?
Thanks for the tip, unfortunately, I ride on a recumbent so that won't do
Anyway, here's Dahon's answer :
"As Dahon is a relative newcomer to the electronics field, we have only introduced the Biologic Bike Mount to fit the iPhone. In the future we will plan to branch out to fit other popular brands of cellular telephones. I will forward your message to the Dahon Product Development team so that a vote for a Bike mount for HTC Desire is entered."
So feel free to send the an email to enter more votes
I am not sure what type of bike you ride but i have a wrist case for my phone which i use when i am on my bike and wish to use sat nav.
When you say bike do you mean bicycle or motor?
Hey there
I did mean bicycle (a Challenge Seiran SL to be precise)
I actually just came accross a wrist case today, the iBike rider which seems to be able to fit our desires
Thanks for your input anyway
Cheers

Hey!
Package arrived today containing bicycle mount for my i9000 galaxy s. I ordered it from ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/BIKE-BICYCLE-MOUNT-HOLDER-SAMSUNG-i9000-GALAXY-S-/150481700713?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item2309688769. I have black hard case for my galaxy but it does not fit in mount with it. Phone snaps real good to the mount. Hold is very firm. Mount comes in two piece: leg and holder. Had some problems combining them together because the fit was too tight. I had to slice some plastic off so the holder would slide on the legs claws. I didn't have an opportunity to try it on my bicycle because my screen is still missing from my galaxy. It was posted yesterday in Hong Kong so maybe next weeks monday or tuesday it should be here. And for the last I would recommend this for every biker out there using galaxy s. Two photos on the attachments.
PS. It's ball-jointed so it turns 360 degrees around and maybe 45 degrees on sides.
i had one of those ... correction, i still have on of those down in my basement some where
they are horrible, they work, but it's very unsafe
my solution is home made, i velcro mine to a transparet waterproof case (picture on the CASE topic)
then stick it (velcro) to the handle bars
i would love a thing like this for my bike too, but it does look very unsafe.
would rather want one in metal, and with a full case for the phone, perhaps with a zipper for closing the case.
Bike handlebar mount - Samsung Galaxy S
May be a bit late in the day but I've bought both of these and they are excellent:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Bike-Bicycle-...UK_Mobiles_Accessories_RL&hash=item1c18c33a14
Although it looks a bit flimsy it isn't; I've bounced it round on all sorts of surfaces and it stays put.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380288542122&ssPageName=ADME:L:OU:GB:1123
Both of these will rotate through 90deg. NB; they both use the same mount.
Cheers,
Frank

Bike handlebar mount - Samsung Galaxy S
Hi Flanfinger et al,
I thought a bit of video might help to show the 2 bits of kit being set up and tested so I've posted on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VjE7rOHGkls
Hope this helps

Nice, I want it too
Nice review Frank, and nice to see somebody else on here with grey hair
has anyone ever experienced trouble with the SGS due to vibrations/shocks during biking? not that there were any moving parts, still I'm wondering if the electronics are designed to withstand constant shaking

Very unikely I would think. Mine has been shaken to death with no ill effects. Solid state componentry is very reliable these days.

hehe, thanks for the reply. the more i think about it, the more it actually makes sense...anyway, i was just curious (since i managed to 'kill' my magnetometer, getting it close to 60A, 60 turns magnetic field coils)
lol a bike mount would be legit!
First, new to the forum, but have found plenty of great info/topics here to keep me entertained while playing with my Inspire, so hallo everyone!
Second, to the topic of my question::
I have been looking for a sturdy car kit for my phone. I like the model here:
smartphonepedia.com/windshield-charging-car-mount-cradle.html
But they have been out of stock since the release of the Inspire, and they will not respond to my inquiry's about it. I really like the 'slide in' type that the dock provides, instead of the quick-clamp that you see almost everywhere.
What have you folks found out on the internet?
I wondered the same thing. I ended up buying an otter box defender for $35 shipped kthx amazon and saw a thread about the slipgrip. They're 30 on ebay. I bought late on a sunday, shipped monday morning, and it got to AR from MD via snail mail on wednesday. It is incredible. I got the vent mount bc my setcpu profile started yelling at me bc it was baking in my really crappy walmart mount that i screwed into the dash with anchors. I thought the vent mount with this device in it might break by 20 year old honda vent but its holding up fine. I do need to get some kind if antiglare going on because the perfect angle there is a glare monster. It was definitely worth $30. Google desire hd slipgrip and click the ebay link. To see what im talking about. It didnt come with instructions but if one cant figure it out then one probably shouldnt be on xda.
Edit; they make iphone version as well so if they can do it...

Yea, I've been looking for Desire mounts also. I can't seem to find any that are like a dock that you can just drop it into. I may just break out the dremel and some extra materials and build away....
I just ordered this one.

I bought the Tetrax Fixway a couple months ago and love it. It's very secure and it can be mounted anywhere in the car. Great car mount.
You can youtube it to see some reviews.

That looks like a nice mount, and from Italy no less :]
I will have to look into getting one to play with...
I bought the CD slot holder from Mountek and find it pretty cool. The bottem piece is removable luckily since I have the otterbox and it would block the connections. I am looking at cutting the removable piece though for more support.
Has anyone seen or used a mount that would strap onto the front of the steering wheel?

thanks for the tips

I would love that, but I have no CD-player....have been looking for perhaps a tape-deck mount. That would fit perfectly where i'm looking....

You could use the bike mount, but think about your airbag....do you want a phone forcefully implanted into your cranium if you wreak? Airbags deploy at even moderate impacts such as a hard finder-bender....
My car for work doesn't have a cd player either. I was able to get out I'm the groove on my dash
Hi,
any experience of having this phone as bike computer?
I ve used my last year just for GPS tracking - turned on and put it to the bag. Now Iam looking for good bike mount, that would allow me to use this as normal bike computer.
Thx for answer
I'm assuming a motorbike? what type? Does it have a visor? If you do, you could probably get one of the suction cup arm mounts and have the phone on that. A clamp system would probably work better though, for security.
i would also like one too,
but for a bicycle
any idea? =D
I would love to have one for my motorbike too!! .. but I think it's hard to find something compatible with our desire z
For bicycle holders, there is this: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Bicycle-Bike-Mount-Holder-Cradle-HTC-Desire-HD-Z-/120645190552.
I haven't actually got it on my bike but another user on another forum has it and said it's pretty good for his use.
I just got me one of these
I ended up cutting the bike mount off as I only wanted it for the dry bag (touch screen still works)
Might fit the bill?

If you've got the otterbox case like I do, this is nice.

I use the "ultimate add-ons" one from Amazon on my motorbike. £20, comes with a 2 piece mount and waterproof case. Touchscreen works through the case too, so that's pretty handy. Some people have said the mount is flimsy and doesn't feel secure, but I just done mine up nice and tight and it is fine.

but too bad only from the UK
shipping to canada is gonna be a killer =[
otherwise i'd jump it
there's tons of stuff on ebay to hold your z down.
make a dyi and buy some super strong velcro and have it detatchable
So out of the few choices available, which is really the "best" for the G2/Dersire Z? I don't want to buy one that isn't any good, but I don't want to purchase anything really expensive either. I was skeptical about this one mainly due to the fact that it looks like it'd fall out (on a biycle, not a motorbike).
Anyone know someone that has tried this out?
http://www.amazon.com/Arkon-SM427-U...=1345050697&sr=8-1&keywords=htc+g2+bike+mount
I really dont want my G2 flying off on the highway lol. There really aren't that many options to choose from, kinda sucks.
Does anyone know if the M9 will fit the official HTC M8 car holder?
It would be great if someone with a test model could give this a try.
I am going to sell my m8 and would be great if I can let people know if I'll be selling it with or without the car holder as I have the official m8 car holder.
The dimensions seem almost the same but since the m9 is ever so slightly smaller from it might be too loose a fit in the car holder.
Anyone able to try this for me?
Massive thanks.
I think the power botton ist a problem. The car holder case from m8 would be in conflict with the botton on the side of the m9
Will there be a official car holder for the m9?
I use my m7 with the HTC car holder and want to by a m9 and a m9-car-holder. All original accessories I found in the www was Covers and so, but not a car holder.
There is a universal Holder official from HTC available in Europa now http://www.htc.com/de/accessories/#!pid=htc-one-m9&acc=htc-car
I got my m9 now, and I tried it with the m8 car holder, and it doesn't fit!
The power botton is not the problem, but the case is a little bit too small and the connector is not 100% at the right place

Thanks for letting me know though.

I've got one of these since having my M7
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/olixar-omniholder-universal-case-compatible-in-car-mount-p28920.htm
Disappointed that the dot view flip case doesn't go well in it as its too tight and squashes the hinge and I worry it'll dammage the case...
Is there a best one for the m9?
Or a offical one?
I use the ProClip system in my cars and I have adjustable phone mounts . Even works with a case. I have used this part for my M7 with UAG case, M8 with UAG case and It should work just fine for my new M9. There are 2 set screws you need to adjust.
ProClip is not for everyone as they are pricey for the vehicle specific mount and the phone holder. I have one of these in all 3 of my cars.

I looked at that model, but it would seem that there is no padding? So do you think that it can scratch M9 if used without case?
At the moment I am using a Montar grip, http://www.amazon.co.uk/Universal-S...d=1428490011&sr=8-1&keywords=montar+car+mount
I have to say I am very impressed with it as a grip.
It's the only one I found so far that I can mount on my dash, which does not have a smooth surface.
It feels very sturdy and I am quite happy with it holding my precious m9
Made me think twice whether I want to invest in an official and very expensive htc mount again...
I picked up a ram mount x-grip recently after trying several other generic universal phone holders over the years. I wish I would have found this sooner, its excellent. Great build quality, exceptional stability and holding strength.

I had one of these and no longer use it. After a few uses, it would not stay attached to my vent when trying to remove my phone. The whole thing kept coming off the vent. Nice design but not practical for my use.
i havent gotten my m9 yet but ive been using a magnetic mount from Mountek for a few years with my Nexus and OnePlus phones. It's great and universal. Just need to put a magnet between your phone and the case (if you use a case) or attach the magnet to the back (I don't do this). The nice thing about the Nexus 5 I had was that since it had Qi charging, it already had built-in magnets so I didnt even need to magnetic disc it came with.

Were you using two hands to remove the phone? One on the Airframe and one on the phone?

+1 for Ram Mounts X-Grip. I have what they're now calling their, "phablet" model.
Tired of having to find a new mount each time you get a new phone?
I have used the same X-Grip on my HTC One M7, M8, and now M9. It can even hold my Nexus 7. This may be the last phone mount I ever buy.
I use the NightIze Steelie mount kit, since I HATE clips and brackets (after going through several car mount setups with them)and anything involving more than 1 hand operation (or take too long). Just stick it and go (well...and plug it in to the USB cable for charging).
The mount on the back of my phone does not and has never caused any issues with either my Galaxy S4 (prvious phone) or M9 (current phone), both of which use(d) the same setup. In fact , having a magnet on the back of my phone has been handy in a few cases (like working on something that requires 2 hands and reading directions/watching instructional video on phone). Magnet is pretty strong, so no issues with it falling off mount over bumps or when I go offroad (I have a truck), but a pretty significant jolt (say...moderate a collision with another solid object or falling into a large hole)) would probably dismount it.
Only downsides is I have to be careful not to place the magnet near/on anything that can get damaged by magnets (e.g. credit cards, etc), which has proven to me a non-issue since my wallet and my phone are always pretty far apart (and rarely are both out at the same time).
That said, since I didn't want anything sticking up off my phone, I drilled a hole into my UAG case (for both) for the round phone mount, so its almost flush with the case itself (I put the phone mount in the middle, so I could rotate between portrait/landscape with ease).
So far its been the best solution FOR ME, YMMV: http://www.niteize.com/product/Steelie-Car-Mount-Kit.asp
The Steelie one looks pretty cool.
I want to mount it on my dashboard. Any other good ones for the M9?
