LED Flashlight app that works with the infuse..?? - Samsung Infuse 4G

which flashlight app works with the infuses camera flash?

Led light. Put the widget on
One of your home screens and you can activate it instantly. Nice feature
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using Tapatalk

I like search light. it can have a totally black screen if you want it to. nexus torch also works('cept the high brightness mode) and has a strobe effect

I have Brightest Flash Light works great. Dunno how it measure ups with the rest mention above though.

I use TeslaLED. Works great. Love the strobe function.

I loved the 'torch' app from CM 7. It had a super bright mode and led strobe.

TeslaLED is nice. Also, if you have WidgetLocker, you can turn it on and off from the lock screen.

I use Widgetsoid. It has a flashlight widget as well as a bunch of other toggle widgets, so they all look the same.

I use "light the way" . Simple, effective in what it does.

can anyone confirm if their torch of choice will work with the screen off?

search light will make the screen totally black. i havent seen any that work if you turn the screen off with the power button.

Flashlight Widget by abgne.tw will let you use the phone while the light is on as well as let you turn the screen off with the power button. The light will stay on untill you press the widget.

You mean turn it the light on, then turn the screen off and have the light stay on?
If so, the widgetsoid widget does this.

any app that uses the flashlight api introduced into android 2.2 should work. if they do use the proper api, you should get this in your notifications:

i personally use power control plus so i can have a widget on my homescreen. and yes it does let you use it with the screen off.

App called "Flashlight" is really nice. You can change the settings to make the light stay on even after turning off the screen and what I found that was really interesting was the police light mode they have. Flashes red and blue colors from your screen and it looks almost real

Just an FYI, but I had the.Brightest Flashlight App used it several times with no problems, then I used it for a good 1 minute, after that I noticed my external SD card gave me an error that said it was blank. Long story short my external SD card went bad. After I got a new one I stopped using any flashlight app that uses the camera flash.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA Premium App

Tried everything mentioned. None continue to work after screen off. Widgetsoid didn't work at all
Sent from moon base alpha using smoke signals

i did just try this again. and it shuts off after 5 seconds. wasnt giving it long enough. but thats what the api is telling it to do, so youll need a program that works specifically for this phone to control the hardware better or modify whatever is telling the flashlight to turn off.

searchlight from scott main can set the screen to black but the screen may still time out and let the phone sleep. playing with the volume keys may help. these apps do have issues if the screen times out or if you try to use the camera while the app is running.

Is there any flashlight application that uses not the camera flash but white screen?

works nicely. i like the fact you can rotate the bezel to alter the brightness.
Cool, it even allows full power, and apparently without limit, suggesting the LEDs can actually handle that... that's damn bright.
Now it would be even better if it didn't do that stupid animation everytime it's launched.
Thanks for sharing!
OK, just for fun, LED current draw:
Step 1: 32mA
Step 2: 107mA
Step 3: 530mA, thats 2W of LED. Mighty. I can light my whole flat with that. LOL
Nice.
Many thanks for sharing
Great app!!! is there a way to start it without the intro..?
http://pocketnow.com/software-1/new-htc-flashlight-app-for-hd2-available
Would it be possible, a recruitment Create menu where you can disable the 3 mode?
Thanks for sharing.
This is a very nice app.
I agree with other users, that it would be even better if it would start without the animation.
Any chace to achieve that?
All the Flashlight interface is done through GIO1: by HTCFlashlightLib.dll, which exports the functions EnableFlashLight and SetFlashLightDegree (though I haven't figured out their parameters yet).
Control codes for DeviceIOControl are 0x220C10, 0x220C04, 0x220C00, the last two are excessively used throughout the ASM. It also imports some clock stuff from MSM_CLK.dll - is it possible this one controls stuff like the CPU freq?
Thanks for the effort, and it looks nice, but it's useless due to the startup animation.
I have TorchButton in quicklinks, I just tap and it's instantly on. This thing takes a full 2-3 seconds which is kind of annoying, though I'm sure someone can fix it.
Edit: Also, this is 1.2MB larger than TorchButton... just saying, I wouldn't care if it didn't have animation at the start.
Thanks for sharing! Loving every detail
Decrease power of flash in photocamera
Can someone write to me the key of register to decrease the power of the flash when the camera is used?
cheers mate nice app
+1
It's nice but the start up animation is a bit of a bind.
My other TorchLight program starts up instantly just like a flashlight should
do you have the rest of the dump of the rom it came from?
This is a briiliant app but sadly as soon as I installed it my HD2 went all squirrley. My phone started to hang and booted slowly, when I got it to finally load using the slide to unlock the phone caused the screen to go black...
I like this just not sure why it did this...
In the end I uninstalled it and all is okay again...
Scott
ok. i know this is for htc devices but i put i on my lg expo. and it works as in it turns on and off the led but it turn on the front message led not the back camera led. does anyone know where the key/value that controls the led might be
thx

alarm clock app?

Is there an alarm clock app or can one be created where you can set the screen to auto dim when using the alarm clock? I used to have a BB Storm...and the alarm clock had a setting to dim the screen so the background wasnt illuminated but you could still see the time...both the PRE and the EVO dont have this setting...
easy peasy, IF you're using Sense.
1. click on your clock

2. Set your alarm with the alarm button
3. then hit the little laptop looking button
4. and Voila! you should have the below clock on your screen. it orients as well, so use that kickstand for something!!

You can also click the moon star thing and you getting a dimmed down version for night time!
Thanks SilverStone641 ...But I already know how to use the alarm clock...the issue I have is that the background is very bright...lighting up my room making it difficult to sleep...my old Storm had an auto dim feature that would gradually dim the background so it wasnt so bright keeping my room dark...I used to have to cover my PRE because it didnt auto dim either...but then U cant see the time...I figured this could be done with android apps...maybe not???
even with the method that jedwardmiller suggested??

Does setting the screen brightness settings to "auto" help when combined with any of the above suggestions?
This is what I do every night as well. I use the dimmer "nighttime" version so I can look over at it during the night without it being too bright. It even moves around the screen like a screensaver so you don't damage the LCD.

It seems that no matter which one I choose...desk top (laptop pic) or night time (star and moon pic) its still the same brightness...
I got the old Storm out and set up the alarm...it has a dimming feature and the alarm has a "bedside mode" you click...after a few seconds the screen backlighting and the clock numbers dim so that you can still see the time but the illumination of the screen has dimmed so it looks darker...or more "black" and doesnt emitt as much light...
Is there a way to make an alarm app that has such a feature?

Works nice, but the app needs to autohide after it has turned off the backlight.
You can use Llama to trigger the app to run automatically when you power up your screen, but you have to close the app manually. If the app would close itself, then we would have automatic light off.
Oh, the peace for my eyes!...

Done.
Llama is an app like Tasker, but free. It will change profiles and execute events based on triggers, from screen-on, which I am using here, to wifi names and cell tower names.
It is available in the Market. It has been seeing consistent development and addition of features.
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.kebab.Llama&feature=search_result
I have an event set up with Screen-on trigger that runs Backlight disabler. It is nice, that it runs in the background, so by the time I've swiped the lock screen, BacklightDisabler is up and has turned off my lights.
I've just done the update and doing a reboot, to make sure the BD is running, and not the old one.
Backlight Disabler hides nicely now *if you tap the icon*. What I want is to have the app run, turn off the backlight and then hide. No tapping. I don't even need to see an App on the screen (it doesn't need an interface). You might have to split the on/off actions into two apps, but considering that the OS turns the lights on every chance it gets, all I ever will want to do is turn the lights off.
If I want the lights back on, all I have to do is turn the screen off/on and they're back.
The latest icon could hardly be seen with my sea wallpaper.

there is BLINKER TAB too that is free and works great!

[APP][2.2+][UPDATE] Toggle flashlight

So i could not find an app that would do exactly what this one does...
Turn on the flashlight LED immediately upon execution of the app... Instead, every app on the market has the user open it up, then press a button to toggle the flashlight.
My app will IMMEDIATELY turn on your flash light LED then shut off the screen.
Its main purpose is to have as a lockscreen shortcut.
Install instructions:
1. Download APK
2. Place apk onto your SD card
3. Using ANY file explorer app
4. Locate downloaded apk and tap on it to initialize the install process.
5. Install and run the app once to set it up.
Permissions:
Hardware Controls [Allow app to access camera LED]
Also need to enable device administrator to allow device lock
Dont forget to hit thanks it really makes me feel good about myself knowing people are benefiting from this other than myself
Check my Signature for other work/projects by me
THANKS XDA FOR PROVIDING US WITH SUCH A GREAT WEBSITE AND RESOURCE!!
UPDATE 12/10/12 10:36 EST
-Fixed force close issue due to me being retarded....
I've searched a lot for an app like this, the past days and I've also developed one myself, which just today I've managed to finish it(have some problems though).
I will try your app, maybe is better than mine(I'm new in programming).
EDIT:
Just tried, flashlight turns itself off about 10-20 seconds after screen is off(sometimes less), at least on my device.
I'd have this problem with my app too. Do you run it as service?
This is a very useful app my friend. It's so annoying on aosp rom's hitting the power button, pulling down the notification bar, engaging the torch, and cycling all over again. This saves steps and works quite well so far.
I'll report back as I use it more over the next few days.
Using it on a sgs3 running Eclipse rom.
Just so you people know, theres actually a widget you can place on your homescreen, just long press on the screen, go to widgets...then look for Assistive Light....put in on one of your homescreens...press it, walla...LED light on back of phone lights up!!! No need to download any apk.

I agree with you it's so good but it uses all the pixels on amoled screens so it uses more battery.

Thanks!!!

does not work. N920c screen turns itself after 3 seconds.
In some cases these sort apps needed. There are so many apps on PS like this. STAY ALIVE is best, it has some good options.
works great.
Work great ut my attery dead very quickly.
lost 3% in one houre
3% isn't too bad :/
Awesome. I would agree that the clock pixels need to shift to prevent burn in on the Amoled screens. The double tap to wake would be very useful. I am missing that and the back buttons a lot from my run with LG the past few years.
It's work but when you have phone call, it's not show you the caller screen until you push the power button for accept/deny the call.
Works okay on Note 5 but:
1) "Screen Off Memo"does not work
2) For some reason when I slide the phone into an i-Blason holster it turns (the always on app not the phone) on and stays on
-I have tried many thins to get it to stay off but it will stay on the whole time it is in the holster.
-If I just hold the holster up to the light sensor is turns off but as soon as I slide it in it turns on and stays on
-I made sure that the phone is not pushing any buttons and I even slid a piece of paper between the sensor and the holster and it turns off
as soon as I remove the paper it turns back on, but there is no way light is getting in
Really, weird.

Has anybody seen this? I am trying it right now looks very promising !
Edit- well the battery drain with this app is also around 3% per hour which is too much....
basically, after extensive testing, this app drains batttery and isnt what everyone hoped for. .. a big unfortunately i must say, as the app is quite nice indeed.

Agree, the irony is you can literally see your battery percentage going down. , otherwise an awesome app. Dev needs to concentrate on saving battery instead of making new themes/ fonts etc.
