Hi there,
Sorry if this is a silly question. But could someone tell me how to remove my EX3 partition and restore my SD card to it's full capacity. I am using a 16GB Transcend class 4 card. I have tried using Paragon Partition Manager and partition magic but both of them do not see the EX3 partition.
Also, does I am stuck on the HTC white screen every time I try and install a new ROM. I have formatted and tried a few different ROM loads of times but nothing seems to work :-( except for reverting back to a backup from a few months ago which does not have A2SD/A2SD+.
Could the EX3 partition be corrupt or have anything to do with this?
I am using an unbranded HTC Desire
Thank you!
hey guys, i am Kenny Spark, if you aint heard of me already, im a GSC Coder and script MW2 Files to hack the game. I can code in several languages including c++
i am new to all this stuf and need a helping hand.
2 days ago i downgraded my HTC Desire's Rom to stock Android 2.1
i then rooted the device using unrevoked on linux (backtrack 4)
then i began to flash custom roms to my phone but im now stuck when i try to flash RCMixHD v2.0 ROM to my mobile.
According to the developer, this rom uses a script know as data2ext which i think requires something to be done with the sd card. i think this has to be done
Fat + 1GB Ext4 + 0.3GB Ext4 + 0.1GB Swap
i know this means partitioning my sd card but i really have no idea on how to do it. i have a 4gb sandisk sd card so if anyone could explain i would appreciate it very much
i flashed the A2SD+ Version and it worked but the data2ext version just hung on the htc screen (i diddnt do anything to my sd card)
also do i need a certain radio or kernal? Thanks alot guys
Hi,
I own a HTC Desire (Rooted) phone & are currently using CyanogenMod (Nightly Build 39), very happy with rom but would like to choose maybe another type of rom, questions are:-
1. Which roms are compatible to Alpharev s-off?
2. Whats the best rom available?
3. Which roms have 720 HD running on camera?
Thanks
You can try leedroid 3.02 good solid rom and it works fine with s-off and has the 720p camera
Hi Larkspeed,
Thanks for quick reply, tried loading leedroid before but phone stuck on Alpharev startup screen, what process do i use to install rom?
Previously used:-
Wipe Data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
install zip from sdcard
reboot.
Cheers
make sure you have a ext3 partition as the second partition on your SD Card.
I hads the same problem until I figured out that some rom or other had changed my ext3 to ext4 as soon as I changed it back then leedroid loaded fine
Cheers,
How do I change ext 3 to ext 4?
Thanks
Hey guys,
I'm currently using a modified version of the GingerVillain ROM (Villain_AU 1.8 to be precise) on an HTC Desire with the MIUI A2SD+ implementation, instead of the Darktremor variant.
I'm seeking to reflash my partition tables and switch to a pure NAND solution, so I'll want to get rid of A2SD+ one way or another. Can I just remove the EXT3 partition using gparted and reflash the ROM. Will this work? - or will I have to use some ADB commands to remove the A2SD+ scripts from the ROM?
Thanks.
is there a solution for this?
Is there an easy method that i can use without a computer to format my sd card to ext4? looks like most all new ROMs are ext4 and i've tried to load the newest Virtuous Unity ROM but it just hangs at the bootanimation screen.
I know about the search button but these links have offered me no help.
I don't know how you would go about getting ext4 without a computer but I'm running VU 1.29 without having formatted my SD card.

did you just download from RomManager and then do an install?
Oh no. The last time I looked, the version available through rom manager was 1.26, the current version is 1.29 (released 7/18). I ran 1.26 without formatting my SD card also. You may have gotten a bad flash. I would try downloading the newest VU from their websites and flashing again.
