Does anyone know if its possible to see how much power is being used by my my phone or how much power is entering my phone while charging? Like a flow meter type thing. My infuse is rooted and I'm running infused 1.5 with the 1.5 kernel.
I just saw I had to put a [Q] in my thread name. Wont happen again mods
Found this app "Android Battery Monitor". Looks like it will give you all the info you need, plus a lot more.

Hey everyone,
I've got a Sensation which is unbranded, unrooted so 100% stock (I'd like to keep that for several reasons).
When my bat is at 60% or below, the phone turns off at random moments. I manually have to turn it on again. After that, my battery percentage has 'jumped', as you can see in the following screenshot. Also the phone really loses all power, because it doesn't remember the time when I turn it on again.

(copy-paste please; the forum doesn't allow me to post pictures because I have less than 8 posts, lol).
It seems that the phone doesn't turn off when I don't touch it. So when I activate a 'heavy' program and not touching it, the phone keeps running. However I am sure the problem is not physical shock-related (so no bad contacts or stuff like that).
I already took out the battery and back in, no effect. Currently I'm draining the battery down to 0% and going to charge it fully again and see what happens.
Anyone better idea's?
I'd start by getting a new battery to test.
I'm just visiting, but could the problem be related to this one?
Hello fellow XDA members.
I've been with my beloved Nexus S for a little over a year now. We've been through thick and thin. Until now.
My power button is broken (along with a lot of other nexus s users that I found out by research), but I was able to bare with it by maneuvers with my software (volume rocker wake). It would act as if it's being pressed down constantly, so it would automatically power on when a battery is inserted.
However, this situation is different. I've done research on this one too, and it also seems common. While using my phone as normal (around 20% battery), the screen just turned black and the phone crashed. Seemed like a common kernel issue. So I battery pull, and the phone won't power on.The charging animation still appears if I connect it to a charger or USB.
As I woke up for work the next morning, I brought my phone along with me. It turned on at a random time while it was in my hand, as it would always do if I were to insert a battery. The phone worked for about a week until the same problem happened again.
I've tried rebooting it with ADB, but it's not recognized. I've tried inserting the battery while it's connected to the charger. Nope. Simultaneous button presses, pounding the power button, you name it. I've also tried a different battery, so I know it's not a battery issue.
I have suspicion it has to due with Jellybean, as several other users experience a problem similar to mine, but much more severe (no charging animation).
I'm running Pacman Rom v 18 with Marmite 7.0 Kernel.
Please, for the love of the Lord, can someone please aid me in finding a solution or inform me of a known one?
Thanks!
Please anybody? I really need a solution ASAP! Thanks again!
I'm sorry for the excessive bumping, but I'm just extremely desperate at this point. I cannot afford to go another day without my phone as I'm losing too much business. Does anyone know a solution or anything to try?
When its on the charger does the screen show that it is charging? Or is it just a blank screen and you "assume" that it is charging ?
Could be the kernal, have you flashed another rom ?

Yes, it shows the charging animation, so there's life.
I think its the kernel and the rom combo. But the fact is that I can't even access the phone right now. Any solutions? And my power button is broken.
Hmm so there is no way to access recovery?

There was no way. But the phone turned back on by itself last morning again. I instantly changed my ROM to RasbeanJelly and Matr1x 24.5 CFS. Let's see if the problem comes back.
Thanks anyway, and ill post back here for updates!

Hey guys, I've got another issue. I installed LeanKernel Sunday night, and now my phone won't charge. It can detect the battery level, and the battery itself is fine. I've borrowed a buddies old Nexus S since he upgraded to an S3, and my battery will charge just fine in that phone, but not my own. His battery will also not charge in mine.
I've noticed that when the phone is off, but plugged in, a horizontal battery comes on the screen with a flashing exclamation mark in it. (!) It does this for both batteries. I've done a factory reset, tried other kernels, different Roms, clearing the battery stats, etc, but nothing seems to allow my phone to charge the battery. Has anyone had a similar problem with this? I've never come across the battery icon with a flashing ! in it and there seems to be no documentation on it. I recently had to take the phone apart to fix my volume down button, and i've taken a look at the internals and nothing seems to be damaged. Everythings got good continuity and I'm quite confused. Im obviously outside of my warranty, so service isn't really an option. I'd really appreciate any help you guys could give me.
Thanks for reading.

Wait wait wait, you flashed a Galaxy Nexus kernel on a Nexus S, and you wonder why it won't work? You said you flashed other kernels, what were they??
My answer to you is simple, flash a Nexus S kernel. Wipe everything if necessary, re-install a Nexus S rom, a Nexus S kernel and then we'll see.
I hope he has not flashed a gnex ROM as well. Looks like many are confusing nexus s with gnex. I am wondering what's wrong.

Good day friends,
Thanks for such a great forum. I bought a second hand LG G2X. It was rooted but still running stock Gingerbread 2.3.3. The phone runs very well except for two defects.
1. GPS turns on but does not find my location at all.
2. The battery charges to 100% and when it gets to 75% it reports low battery and turns off.
I have no idea why the GPS is not working. I assumed the battery was bad and bought a new one. However the fault persisted. The curious part is that even when the phone reports low battery and turns off, the battery is not actually empty at all !! I download an app called "My battery info and drain". I waited until the battery reached 75% or so and got the 'Low Bat' message. I restarted and immediately was told 'Low Bat'. But this time I immediately turned on the 'Battery Drain' app and the phone didn't shut down as it usually those. In fact right now as I am typing it is draining. I wonder if this is some issue which has been encountered before and someone knows how to deal with it.
My Primary Request
1. Obviously the battery issue is non-reconcilable. I really have to find a way to keep the phone on for its designated time on battery. It seems a phone message since the battery still has some juice.
Peripheral Request
Obviously having a GPS is a plus. I really wonder if there is some driver issue wrong with the phone. I tired using Cyanogen 7 Rom and thought that might make it work but no success. Is there something such as a kernel which has GPS drivers that I can install.
I would imagine your best bet would be to upgrade to 2.3.4 stock. Search for methods if you can't do it OTA.

I've heard horror stories about 2.3.3....glad I never had any experience with it!
hello!
so i would like to start and say i tried to find a solution on already made posts and in general googling it.
also that i used to have more exp with android, but i left dealing with it like 3 years ago, now im kinda clueless....and things are different
i have rooted my "galaxy s5" using this - "CF-Auto-Root-klte-kltexx-smg900f.tar" iv done so mainly to use an app that can connect to wifi networks and show me the password. every thing went perfect.
the only thing i noticed - my battery
A. started to drain sooooo much faster, like double or more.
b. charging slower (im not 100% sure about it) but i am sure that when i charge the phone while playing it\using its barely charging, when in the past it would go in to full
the best thing about this phone was the battery life, just perfect...now its annoying...like a damn iPhone:crying:, so please help me.
what i tried
A. - fully charging the phone while turned off, then in recovery Wipe Battery Stats, then disconnect the cable and reboot manualy and discharging fully.
B. iv checked what new apps i got (almost none) and with the "phone manager(the android build in one)" putted most apps on "sleep" when not used, and what app take more or unusual battery...but nothing
i got the latest android version for s5
thank you, i hope i wrote everything you need, let me know if more info needed
