[THEME] Midnight v1.0

This is a port of a port. All credit for creativity goes to edint3000 for the theme and Bigloof for the original port to the Fascinate and some of the images used.

Give them a check and some thanks for all of their hard work if you get a chance. When I saw this, I really thought some of you guys would like it so I got to work moving some png's and doing a few xml changes. This is what I came up with.

As usual, disable lagfix if you have it as a precaution. Yes you may re-enable it after you are done. (I get that question all the time, so I figure I better start putting that in also.) Make a backup. I'm not responsible for anything you do to your phone. Flash in recovery.

Quick question for you, I really love the carbon fiberesque look of the slide down from the Dark Gloss theme, but I really like everything else about this Midnight theme, would that be as simple as an edit to a .png (or a swap)? (The way it's animated I would think the buttons at the top and the actual notification slider part would be separate images and could possibly be swapped from theme to theme, but I know nothing .)

There's a few things involved with it. I really like the carbon fiber drops also. Once things die down and we get this 2.2 up and running I'm going to build my own theme and that is one of the features that it will have. As far as swapping out one drop down for another, I haven't done it, but I'm sure it is pretty easy. There may be a few .9 files that will have to be taken in to consideration but that should be the worst of it.

Got this flashed and out looks great. Just a quick question...on the original theme they were able to change some app designs (market was one). Is that something we can get or do we not have that functionality?

That will be in v1.1 as soon as I can get to it. I tried to get it going in v1.0, but it wasn't as easy as moving the png files like normal. That's why I used the port instead of the original. I might be getting a break from this project I'm working on now, so that might be something I can work on in my spare time.

Not a big deal just gives me something to look forward to on some new themes. If that project is froyo then you just keep plugging away and ignore the rest of us!

love this theme!

I love the carbon fiber drop down from a few other themes so I hacked the original with some blue highlights and copied it into phidelts port and now have it on my phone. If you have any interest, I'll post the zip later on

how much do you know about theming?
like if i give you the .9 file do you know how to put it in the twframework-res.apk...
I can tell you where to put it.. you just use 7zip..

i dont know where it goes but i am great at following instructions
btw i normally move file with root explorer homie...cant get adb to work right on my comp...or i can use termial emulator

Download this, It's the New Background with Carbon
You need to have 7zip installed on your computer..
And also this theme...
Right click on the Midnight.zip theme go to 7zip and Open Archive
Go to system/framework
Right click twframework-res.apk click Open
open the res folder
open drawable-hdpi
and paste your new background into the folder
click yes to copy
then close 7zip
Reflash the theme using Phidelt82's instructions....

giving it a shot now...wish me luck...ans yes i got my stuff backed up!

No Issues on the EB16 or EC10 version...EB16 & EC10 also has a slightly themed swype with some green to it, and i themed the Mms as well...nice and green...nothing to special but i like it
EDIT : The EC10 Version has puzzle unlock, and 32 sec soft key mod. if you dont want the soft key mod...remove the services.jar from the framework folder
EDIT : The Heinz Version will work on the Showcase too!!!!

was up till bout 5am est working on this...i wanted it on my phone...lol....gonna finish everything by tomorrow sometime...only thing i really haveing trouble with is when a box of text pops up with in an app...the stuff i changed green gets all distorted...thats why the menu outlines are still blue...what could be causing that?

those are .9.png files and can only be edited properly when decompiled with apktool (it will then show you these black outlines where android can then interpret where to stretch the image) so what you should do is just edit the pnp framework while i'ts decompiled, then recompile it and pull the images out using 7zip. When you're editing the color, be sure to keep the image in the same place and don't edit those black lines at all.

might be able to make a lil something from that

+1 for the green. Too bad the wife won't let me mess with her mez until I find a pink theme with the puzzle lock. Maybe soon?

Updated OP with version for the new EB16!!!

Love the update for EB16, glad I didn't have to stick with stock for long at all! The swype keyboard is actually kind of a nice touch in EB16...missing the puzzle lock though but I do like that the Arrows no longer appear it's just a solid pane of glass.

yea the puzzle piece will be nice once phidelt gets everything worked out...its been giving him so much hell getting it all together but hes making progress...im trying to help him, but seeing as im just learning the stuff hes doing, i dont think ill be making much (or any) real contribution to the project, though i wish i could

Anyone tried this on EC10 yet? Just wondering since it's my preferred theme and I'm really missing my battery life indicator!

Well I took the leap, tried it. WORKS GREAT! I had to load the EB16 Puzzle Lock to get that back but it works just fine with the ASOP launcher as well!
****NOTE: I did this before pick'n'pack v0.1 came along for EC10, so if you do that first just beware I didn't test that part of it, I used it in the interim so perhaps someone with more knowledge of these things will need to post before you make that jump.

Great theme but when I open my email and bring up the menu the font is black and impossible to read otherwise I love.

I am using EC10 and I just flashed the eb16 theme and everything worked fine. What is the difference with the EC10 version that was just posted?

I dug the Pac man one becasue of the vintage feel with bright colors......but this one is more my Personal liking, Big on Blue themes, and the lock screen set up you picked for this is GREAT......simple but still the little pup up stuff is cool.
i like the lil trasparancies in there, pretty good. the settings could use some of that blue in there somewhere...
and i like the Miui SMS theme.
i dont know what extended setting are(have never looked) but the notification bar set up on YOURS was nice, with the blue time in the middle.
i give it two thumbs up for a beta bruh

Extended settings let you have a carrier logo and you can move the settings from right to left or middle witch is what I use, that's also what slows me to change the clock colir

New download is up I themed some setting and put a new wallpaper plusses battery icons. I'm tgemeing font colors right now for SMS phone contacts and others so I will have a update tomorrow or the next day. Also working on a boot animation and changing some of the blue colors to match.
P.s. the settings themes came out a little litter than expected ill probably darken them along with theming the fonts. Ill keep u guys posted.

ok i nandroided back to the pac man theme i had saved....upgraded to 1.10.7 worked great, flashed the ES settings....seemed ok, but now everything force closes. the theme applied fine.
any ideas?
and i used the 1.10.14

i like the whole theme but im a complete noob when it comes to flashing. im running infused 2.2.3. do i just DL to my SD card and flaash via red CWM?
would it be possible to do a green one with all the icons in the notification bar the same?(batt,connection,wifi,etc,etc)

Yes actually when I get the theme to the stage I like I'm going to go through and render everything different colors so there will be blue, green, red, orange and whatever anyone else would like

[THEME] m00nman's status bar icons for WeaponX 3.0R1

For those of you that like the colored status bar and notification icons that m00nman posted, you will be able to find them here from now on, since it seems he doesn't have the time or desire to keep them up to date. I plan on continuing to update these as weaponx also updates. I am by no means a developer or modder; this is my first "project" of this type and m00nman did most of the work so thanks to him. This is mostly for my own amusement and learning. If you have any problems or suggestions let me know and I'll do my best to address them.
Anyways, here is a flashable ZIP that will install the aforementioned icon pack to your weapon x 3.0 r1 ROM.
Thanks to jcbofkc for the zip, I didn't know how to make one until he provided it.

Just a suggestion-can you guys make the battery colour when fully charged to be green(it will match the weapon G2x default theme better) and not that dark blue.

I am sure frescoraja or I could later today, but you can do it yourself using UOT kitchen. It is very easy to use. I am a complete novice when it comes to this stuff, but I was able to figure it out. You can change the battery to whatever look you prefer and keep everything else the same including the kick ass toggles. Under the battery option there is one that is green the majority of the time until it get low and tuns red.

I posted the same one from my post in the other thread. I thought that mine included the colored notification icons that yours has (minus the big alarm clock icon, and maybe a couple of others).. But now that I won't be using the g2x, I am going to change the OP to include your icons.
what i do is really simple, first I use 7zip or winrar to extract the apks from the zip files. Then I use apk manager to "unzip" the apk's and then just replace the png files in the weaponX rom apk with the corresponding png files from m00nman's apks. Then you "zip" it back up in apk manager (leave the apk unsigned because they are system apps), and then i just paste the new apks over the old apks in your zip archive.
I just got an HTC sensation as a warranty exchange for my g2x, so I probably won't be updating these any more. I think you're more than capable, jcbofkc but let me know if you have any questions.
In case any one is interested, in many ways i regret getting the sensation (qHD display looks like ****E compared to g2x's lcd, and the thing lags like crazy compared to the snappy g2x), but i know i can always sell it and buy another g2x with cash left over. The main benefit to the sensation is the amount of roms to choose from, and the HTC amaze's camera app has been ported to the sensation. If LG announces plans to update the g2x to Ice cream sandwich, I'll be back in a heartbeat.

Thanks frescoraja, I will keep the thread updated. Might even try a couple of other versions for those that want to keep their rom "as is" plus a little nicer status bar. I will see you again after the ICS update.

I installed this theme from using the link posted on this thread. that file downloaded at 21MB. when looking on the tweaktools site, it was listed at 51MB.

Each theme contains different themed apks - in order to make for what I thought to be a "cleaner" approach I included any default (i.e. black and blue) apks not themed that other themes include so themes didn't get mix-and-match issues. It was that or tell people to flash the default theme prior to flashing any new themes, but I sort of doubted folks wouldread that or bother with it, so I forced the choice a bit. I'm open to suggestions on how to better handle this though...

I think that is a good approach... don't really think that you could be any more efficient/helpful aside from perhaps listing out a side-by-side comparison of each apk that is themed within each theme...

is there a way to change the notification background? not a fan of the android pic (obscures the text from my notifications). I do like the black background as opposed to opaque, but would just to remove the pic.

Yes - but it's not an "easy" way necessarily. To change the notification background you would need to change two images (and make them both the same, just different sizes) - but there isn't an easy way to just remove the image. You would have to do some image editing stuffs to make a new background image for that one.
