SPB Mobile Shell 3D - Anyone Using it? - Samsung Infuse 4G

Is anyone else out there using SPB Mobile Shell 3D on their Infuse? I took the dive and purchased it a few weeks ago and I really like it. I like having a TON of screens and the ability to make folders. There is a lot of use out it for me. It has SOME quirks now and then but not many.
Just wondering if anyone else is using it.

Yes and it works great fyi

SPB mobile shell on raphael

hi all,
Yesterday I installed SPB mobile shell.
I played and configured with it the whole evening......
but DAMN!!! I LIKE IT!
The whole interface is SO MUCH BETTER then the tflo....
It's easy to navigate...it looks nice....and it runs like a charm!
Anybody else installed this beauty?
yup, i did.
but i dont like it that much.
it runs good, but i guess i got a different taste for eye candy
I installed it as well and I must admit it's very useful.
And I use the Second Today program - this way I get to keep Touch Flo as well It's the perfect combination.

been using mobile shell for years on my WM devices.
I like the graphics of TF3D but to me it was all form and no function. Mobile Shell is sooo much better.
I also have SPB weather and SPB Diary too.

spb mobile shell for android is almost here!

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?p=1567217#post1567217
it's coming!!!!
SPB is now accepting applications for private beta at http://www.spb.com/beta
You may read the news story by going to http://getandroidstuff.com/spb-mobile-shell-android-50-home-replacement-app-hits-beta-sign/
So, summarized, what exactly is this?
Basically it's another home replacement. I had it on my wm touch pro. It's got some ok features but it's just another shell. Google it and you will see what it does. Looks real similar to the iPhone knock off rom evos have

i had it for my vogue and treo pro, its cool on wm because you didnt have multiple home screens and widgets but on android even the default launcher had that stuff, so i dont really see the upsides of it also i am not a big fan of paying for apps
if it is anything like the wm version, expect to pay about $30 for it

SPB Shell 3D - Worth the $15 to me!

So, decided to try this launcher...priced at $14.95 I was skeptical. Love what it adds to my Tab experience however. Yes, definitely overpriced...but totally changes your Tab to eye-candy goodness.
Loving the Message widget, totally dig the 3D carousel effect. The World Clock widget is fun, and the whole thing gives my Tab a quasi Honeycomb feel. (in that it's much more flashy to show off, and some of the widgets are great!)
It's a bit of a memory hog @ roughly 90mb usage...but I tend to keep things skinny usually anyways, so no ill effects.
EDIT: I can't help but notice how lag-free this launcher is. I truly expected something so flashy to come with bunches of lag...so not the case. Amazingly smooth.

Here's the link to Market (notice it says not compatible with Tablets, however it works wonderfully on the Tab)

LOL true...still I don't mind tossin $15 to something that makes my Tab turn a few heads & make things more enjoyable to use!
I'd give it a shot if there was a free trial..

Hrmm, it looks ok, but definitely not worth $15, if it had more skins for each "page" maybe id think about it, can you make your own skins for it? If you can id be interested as i could make a honeycomb-ish one.
let us know what the battery life is like with all that home screen animation. Also, what ROM are you on? Did it install like a regular Home app like LauncherPro? Are you able to switch between this and other home apps?
Oh and would you mind taking a video of it on the tab? How does it look in landscape mode?
IMO everything ist too big. Icons, Widgets, etc fit better on smaller screen sizes.
I uninstalled it. Its very, very nice but i wait for a tablet-optimized release!
from the brief go I had with it , I couldnt get it in Landscape lol..
I gave this a quick try. And its pretty crap to be honest. I couldn't get any of the 3d Widgets to work, should be 2$
swyped from a galaxy far far away...

Right I used SPB Mobile Shell 3.5 on my Nokia N97, there were really lots of skins available.
I thought Samsung Galaxy Tab was not supported yet ?
They say its not supported for tablets because they're working on a tablet specific app.

Just gave it a try. Not worth those 15 bucks. Even more if compare to LauncherPro (which is a LOT more configurable). It could have been a nice shot for a cheaper price, but beside those 3D effects it doesn't relly offer anything more than Launcher Pro or any other launcher in the market. I have LP running both on my Galaxy Tab and Desire HD and it is way better on both devices.
I've bought it, but have already installed. I agree that the graphics are to big for the G Tab. I had other problems too. Like when I click on the time it doesn't open the clock. Same thing with the alarm...
You can't customize the panels. Most of then are the way they idealized it, and you can't change. The carrousel is beautiful but not that useful. It doesn't compare to Launcher Pro or ADW in terms of customization.
Way too expensive!

Battery life seems unaffected, I haven't noticed a dip from normal. I'm running Overcome Rom, OC to 1.4GHZ. Yes it works like any other launcher, can switch back and forth as you'd like. Currently it's only designed to work in portrait mode. I imagine a Tablet version will be coming, that will make use of landscape mode.
I'll see about making a short video of usage on the Tab.
I think it makes the tab look like a cheap knockoff with the big clunky graphics lol

"Not supported" isn't the same as "doesn't work on it". It runs fine. Maybe it's not Gingerbread compatible.
All of SPB's apps are overpriced, I feel this should be only $10, it is quite good although it's not without its limitations, and its massive memory footprint.
Ill probably wait for the tablet version with a landscape mode before getting this. Wouldn't want to show it off to my iPad friends , only for them to turn it sideways and see it doesn't work that way.
Sent from my undervolted Galaxy Tab running Overcome 1.3
Sorry it's not fish.
work on my Tab. wait loading because lag, after is good. look my youtube vidéo

Porting the new Samsung touch screen remote software

I was wondering if anybody knew if the new Samsung touch remote that come with their high end tbd could be ported into an app for our phones. I have a un55c8000 tv and would love to figure out a way to do it because I am cheap and cant bring myself to spend 300 dollars on a remote. Any guidance to get this started ( if even possible) would be great. I know if it can be done thus great community would be able to help me out. And yes I know they have an app for Android but it doesn't have the cool twin view feature as well as some other features. At least the qwerty remocon doesn't. I think it is the same as the touch smart app but can't get it to run on my Droid incredible. Thanks for reading my ramblings and any help you have to offer.

[Q] Repurposing Pocket PC

Hello all I am Chuck. New here, but enjoying the knowledge and posts. Mine is a simple question, I have a Graphic Design studio. I am building a Windows 7 Computer for it. I am wondering if it is just plain crazy to think there may be a "non phone" OS I could use on my old HTC Tilt.
I dont use it, So I am thinking about incorporating it into my build. Using it for scheduled Benchmarking, maybe some fan controls and temp monitoring. I have loved this phone a long time, and it would be nice to find an OS or collection of portable apps I could use to put with it in my Graphic Design Studio. Also if anyone knows of any apps I am considering maybe a motion activated camera type thing, or LED light controls, Fan and Temp monitor, and taking care of my OC on the new computer. It looks pretty cool sitting between my bluray drives, hopefully I can ditch the phone part and use it as a WIFI enabled Cam/monitor. Thank you all in advance. You guys must never sleep. I would love to be smart enough to answer the questions here. lol
Chuck
