Me too. Also I want the ability to send and recieve files.
According to

Is your device not on the list? No need to worry...
For those of you using Android 2.2 (Froyo) and above, you should still be able to enable video calling in your Skype settings. Just go to "Skype settings" after launching the app and select "enable video calling".
Unfortunately, if you cannot see the video calling settings, it means your Android phone does not meet the minimum requirements needed to make Skype video calls. Please be aware that video call quality may not be as good as on a certified Android device and only the back camera of the device will work if your device is running on Android 2.2 (Froyo).

Not sure how transformer can not meet the min requirements.
maybe it's so cause our transformers are tegra2 devices

Samsung Galaxy S2 IS a tegra2 mobile phone device, just not a tablet device? and sadly drivers are 2.3.4 based, which again means that 2.3 gingerbread drivers are probably not 3.x compatible anyways..
very sad..
edit: i was wrong, it seems!!
It is now working on my MT4G. It has an option in settings to enable video call. That option does not appear on TF. On mobile I got a very good videpo quality. Since Microsoft took over Skype, things are finally moving. Perhaps tablets are next.

Sick and tired of Skype's ****ed up bull****, our Eee Pads can MORE then handle video calling and tegra2 phones use it, its just bull**** plain and simple. They play ****ing games (remember Fring). And no one at Skype will give a straight answer and they have no contact line, emails go unanswered, I assume they simply dont give a **** like most other tech companies these days (can you say dell tech support line? I knew you could).
I'm pretty sure Skype has a reason. It's a business. It wants to make money. It is going to do what ever is most profitable. If you don't like it, start your own VoIP company, convince the majority of the world to use it, then develop an app for every device/OS out there. I'm pretty sure you'll find it's hard to make everyone happy.
With that said, I too look forward to having Skype video chat on the Transformer.

Here is the response from Tech support:
"We understand your concern about the availability of video calling on your ASUS Transformer. We will be happy to assist you with this.
Steve, we are working on adding more Android devices all the time, but we are not able to provide you with an exact time frame for when your device may be supported.
To make Skype video calls on Android device, you will need:
An Android phone running Android 2.2 (Froyo) or above. Front facing camera. Chipset with NEON technology support*. The latest version of Skype for Android (Skype 2.1 for Android and above).
* This specifically does not include some tablets that use the Tegra 2 chipset (e.g. Android tablets and Motorola"
Hi Guys
Does any of you have a clue on how to make a REGULAR VIDEO CALL ( not Fring, not skype, not qik, not Tango)
What I mean is regular carrier based 3G VIDEO CALL .
Android HTC phones can not make it , though WM HTC Rhodium and a few others could do. I also know Samsung Galaxy phones and Galaxy Tab can place regular 3G Video Calls.
Is there a way to make 3G Regular Video Calls on HTC Android (like Sensation) ? It could something like porting the Galaxy Phone dialer apk or any other ideas : Has any body tried this ?
If you know the answer pleaseeeee give me a reply ASAP .
It can't

This is just a bull **** from HTC
Because there are phones which use the same android platform as HTC and you can make video calls with them.
I had a Galaxy Tab and I could easily make regular video calls.
What I would like to know if anybody tried to port the dialer apk of Samsung into HTC ?
As a logic it should be done.
The logic isn't respected till now.
I'm searching for it again anhd again whith no more luck than you
My next phone will obviously be a Samsung for this very reason, such a shame HTC didn't make it as a default.
What the front cam is made for ??????? Mirror apps

Hi,
Working on a project where we need to issue another 80 devices out to delivery drivers.
Current dedicated people have rugadised devices but need a cheap / free solution which my mobile carrier has come up with being HTC Radar or Samsung Galaxy Ace.
So what im trying to figure out is which can you lockdown all features on the best so the user can only use a single app / software we will install on them? & any ideas of software that could be used for that?
The HTC is Win mobile 7.5 & the Samsung is Android 2.2
Thanks a mill for the feedback in anticipation!!
Carl
Hello guys... Actually I just want to ask you about a clever / non-santc alternative uses for an old Evo 3D... actually a friend of mine get this phone at an airport, and he can't return it to the owner, because he were going to another country, so, he gave it to me and I'm thinking about clever uses... by now, I've some ideas...
3D camera - Useful, and nice, but, I don't like the idea because I'll have the phone on the table waiting for a 3D moment...
PDA/Organizer - It would be nice, but I do have 2 android phones as well... so, I don't want to carry on with another source of information
Media Server / HTPC (Home Teather Android Device) - Maybe this use is my prefered, but I don't have any idea on how to start here... any thoughts on this?
I am open for suggestions...
Thank you....
Gaming device
Sent from my D3 w/ Unlimited $10 data
GPS system for car possibly?
You can also use qualcom toolkit to modify/setup a port
To keep GPS lock without data signal so you save massive
Amount of battery. I'll provide a link to the thread <here shortly>
Also depending what phone you have now the evo3d has some
Badass hardware , meanrom ICS| anthrax 1.5 oc it out performs
My Verizon galaxy nexus LiQuid 4.1.1 | faux 1.8 MHz oc
I've been using a bad esn evo 3d for about a month now simply as a tablet. Gaming, organizer, essentially just a back up of everything I need.
Sent from my LG-MS690 using xda premium
Nice suggestions... maybe the GPS suggestion with Qualcomm toolkit is a interesting option... do you have any info on this?.
Somebody knows about a no-phone rom??? CDMA doesn't work in my country, so, I'll never use the phone HW... so I can use the hardware on many other ways.
As a tablet, maybe it could work for me, but I'll add another phone to my pocket (Galaxy GT-5500 / Xperia Ray)... also as a remote control (with droidmote) for a MK802 is a clever use too, so, I would be a clever use as well.
About other uses, I've bought a MHL cable, and I'll try to figure it out on how to install XBMC and use it as HTPC (kind off) and I'll talk to you as well with updates...
Another interesting option is Ubuntu... but I'll try to go deep on this, and I'll talk to you later...
I will be always hearing ideas.... thank you!!!
I would use it as a 3D camera. Use it as a PDA/organizer that just happens to have a 3D camera. I think the Evo 3D takes nice 3D pictures and video.
Hello Everybody,
Disclaimer: I am an extreme noob when it comes to rooting and so forth, I performed one back in 2010 on an HTC HD2 that i used a kernel (i believe) for nexus on and turned it into an android.
Anyhow I just bought a gear s, and was able to download the gear manager on my phone the gold one (used blackmart to do so), however now I can not connect to the device because it needs to download samsung crap on it i think. I came up with two ideas which are as follow and I need assistance on recommendations.
1. root my g-flex and turn it into a note 4, I have no clue how to do this and don't know if it is possible (any help here would be greatly appreciated!).
2. get the galaxy app store on my lg flex and perhaps it will be able to download the updates for the gear s?
I am sorry that I am such a novice, but I do understand the basics to coding and everything, if i can get either of these options to work I will gladly post a video of the whole process and instructions on xda so that way others can benefit
