every 4-5 minutes my wifi drops for a few seconds and i need to download 350 MB of game data. it's really frustrating!
how can i fix this or what might be the problem?
ROM/Radio/NS Version?
WiFi Sleep Policy set to "never"?
Router WiFi Channel under 13?
btw http://youtu.be/JmvCpR45LKA?hd=1&t=1m16s
supeaosp 8.2/ i9023/ kb3
sleep policy is set to never and chanels are set to 11. I can't give anymore details because I didn't do anything special so that I can say that's the cause. I'm just using my wifi and after some time icon turns white and in a few seconds it turns green.
it didn't bother me too much when I was browsing, but now it does...

Anyone else seeing this?
When connecting to my linksys wireless N router, wifi will work for about 5 mins then nothing will respond even though the indicator shows a connection.
I have to turn wifi off and on again real fast and it auto reconnects and works for another 5 mins or so.
Anyone experiencing this? I had a similar issue with my Iphone 3gs that dissapeared in later firmware updates
I belive there is a thread on this allready were some has that issue. It was after changing ur setting.db to allow none market apps

Does your phone go into sleep? There is a setting in the advanced menu that drops wifi after the screen goes into sleep. You can change the wifi to never sleep
Is your subnet mask on the AP set to something other than 255.255.255.0? See other threads on the page for details. There is a driver issue with WiFi.
i noticed with my inspire (coredroid7 + setcpu to 200mhz when screen off) that there is no internet connection. i have apps like groove ip that requires connection and if disconnected would not work when the screen is off. note: when screen comes on, after 5-10 seconds all network related stuff reconnect. a
i do not know if this is a function of setting the cpu too low and/or other settings i have to adjust. not sure where to begin and search for "lose network screen off" doesnt produce much.
edit: question is primarily focusing on wifi connection. i currently do not have mobile connection yet.
If its your wifi it could be goin to sleep. Go to Settings>Wireless&Networks>WiFi Settings>Menu>Advanced>WiFi Sleep Policy and make sure Never is selected. I think After 15 Mins. is selected by default to help with the battery.
thamks. Am very sure that's the answer
Anyone else with WiFi issues? 90% of the time I have no problems but 10% of the time it seems the connection hangs. Data transfer will pause and resume 30 secs or a minute later. I have tested this with speed test and was able to reproduce. Happens on both my 2ghz and 5ghz networks. I am rooted but I'm going to do a factory reset to see if issue persists. I do know it's not my WiFi as my other devices have no trouble. But this is quite annoying.

Are you by chance using an Apple router or access point? For some reason, they don't seem to play well with Android devices, including my M8. I've had a similar experience with 4 Android devices and 2 different Apple routers. The devices continuously disconnect and reconnect.
No I'm using an Asus ac66. The funny thing is the connection doesn't drop. It always says connected. The data just stops flowing and then starts again. For example I'll run a speed test and the download will pause then start up again. Very odd. Never had a phone do this before

I've got an Apple Airport Extreme. I also have several Android devices. Have had many that I no long have or use. I've never had any problem with my wifi on any of them. I have to wonder if your problem isn't related to something else. Or, possibly your router needs to be replaced. Might be a matter of settings too. But, like I said, I've never had any problems with mine.
Within the "Advanced Wi-Fi" settings there is an auto-enabled option called "Wi-Fi Optimization" which minimizes battery usage when Wi-Fi is on. I assume this monitors for extended periods of inactivity (screen off, no active downloads, etc.) and temporarily disables/hibernates Wi-Fi activity.
I've kept this option enabled and haven't had any issues so far, but maybe you could try testing with/without this setting enabled? Another thing to try would be checking highly-used radio channels in your area with an application like InSSIDer and making sure your router is broadcasting on a low-use channel. I see no correlation with the radio channel and your new M8, but it's worth a try

I have the same issues. and ive turned off wifi optimizaiton, ive set my wifi control frequency to 149, ive tried to switch between 2.4 and 5ghz. i feel like my issue is with the phone not picking up the wifi signals very well... we live in a brick house, and the asus ac68u sits right in the middle of th house, and my room is only right around the corner. everyone elses phone picks up 5ghz or 2.4ghz frequency fine in my room, even my gf's M8 (we bought ours from verizon same time for the deal). i literally get wifi in my rom 10% of the time or its choppy and slow. so everytime im in my room i have to switch to cellular :|
Does anyone know why the wifi signal being broadcast by WiFi Tether Router would vanish after 20 minutes? I've emailed the developer who instantly blamed my phone and the only thing I can think of is that there is something in the 5.0.1 kernel or something that is killing this signal after exactly 20 minutes from the time I set the phone down.
Keep wifi on while sleeping is checked.
No power saving modes are enabled.
Can't find connections optimizer, but I unchecked the enable box when I set up my phone after a fresh flash to latest build a few days ago.
If yall need any screenshots of anything please let me know. Having tether is a vital key to me staying sane out here (I am a truck driver). Please help.
Also to note... I did flash a zip that removed a bunch of sprint bloatware. I don't think that would cause this though.
For the past couple months which I have spent most of on Sultan's 5.1.1 and 6.0 roms, as well as others, I have noticed that when after usually longer periods of sleep, sometimes I'd wake the device and it wouldn't be connected to wifi, but within about 5-10 seconds it would reconnect. I didn't realize how bad it was until I started using Tasker to enable Bluetooth when disconnecting from my home wifi. On average about once per hour the profile would activate, anywhere from 20 minutes - an hour after locking the phone. It often won't connect for at least 5 minutes unless I turn my phone on.
All my settings are correct, wifi is set to keep on "Always". I've tried it on both 2.4 and 5Ghz networks. I've tried it after clean installs of a rom, with no other apps yet installed. I've tried it with wifi scanning both on and off. I've also tried it recently on a couple roms that have disabled Doze.
Has anyone experienced this issue, or does anyone have a Tasker profile like mine (Wifi connected) that knows it doesn't have any problem staying active for many hours straight?
I believe that this is only happening with certain routers, for example with the modem + router that Comcast provides.
