Doesn't matter on which ROM I am, I'm having this problem since a few weeks. I browse the app, select it, click on install and it starts downloading but once it's done it simply stops, it doesn't even show the installing process. After a reboot it works just fine tho, it automatically downloads the app like it has been interrupted the last time and installs without problems.
Any word on this?

Hello,
So i've been having a bit of a hard time getting viper to stick. This usually happens when I do a reboot or change from headset to bluetooth and vice versa.
I've converted viper to a system app through titanium, and although that solves the recent app problem, the driver seems to not process automatically after a reboot or a sleep period. In order to get it to stick, I would have to do another reboot and then enable/disable a couple of times.
Anyone know of any other suggestions? Help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
good luck, i still havent got it to work properly. im assuming we need to wait for an update for full compatibility
works fine here. after reboot as well. i installed the 4.X apk. opened it, installed the drivers, rebooted, and everything works as should, even afyer a reboot. but i dont install it into /syatem/app/, i keep it in /data/app/ with all my other apps http://vipersaudio.com/swupdate/viper4android/ViPER4Android_FX_A4.x.apk
Thanks for the replies. I managed to get it to stick using combo of converting to system app and changing fx compatible mode to compatible.
Nexus 5, 4.4.4, dalvik runtime. Currently on cyanogenmod 11, but this problem started prior.
I rooted my phone, initially to run xposed framework. I actually got it installed and opened, but I noticed I couldn't install any modules. Uninstalled, tried to reinstall, found I couldn't sideload any apks. Cancel button works fine, but install button does not respond to touch in any way.
Everything I have tried:
Rebooting
Unrooting/reflashing stock
Rerooting
Using various apk installers/file managers. They all still bring me to the install screen where I can't push install, so they're unless
Clearing caches (dalvik, package installer)
Making sure all screen filter apps are off
Making sure all security options are correct (do not verify app, allow unknown sources)
Flashing a new Rom entirely (cyanogenmod)
I'm at a loss. Are there any options left to try that may fix this?
First, root has nothing to do with your issues. When you say install button doesn't work, what install button are you taking about? And how are you trying to side load an apk? Are you using an app, recovery, or what?

Do you have echo lock screen notification installed?
#stayparanoid
Unfortunately I can't post an image of the install screen because I'm still a new poster. I usually just try to install apps by navigating to them in my file manager and clicking on them. Nothing special. The install screen is the default holo one that pops up.
Welp, turns out it was Echo Lockscreen. That's a massive bummer...loved that app! Thanks Pirateghost.
Just as the title says Google play music keeps telling me I need to update play services, no other app does than and I'm running latest GPS and GPM so no idea why but it asks for it every few minutes as notification.
Any way to stop it?
Bump
Here are some screenshots. It happens when I open google play music OR when I press the refresh music button OR when I open the XDA app (odd what does XDA premium app have to do with this?)
Have you tried manually downloading/installing the latest Google Play Services apk? Reboot your phone immediately afterward, see if that fixes the problem. If you still have the issue, try installing the apk one more time and immediately rebooting again. I had this exact problem after a completely fresh install of 5.0.1 a month ago and I had to install the apk twice for it to be solved. (I linked you to the latest correct apk for a Nexus 5--the description at apkmirror says you need to check/verify the last 3 digits of your existing installation; don't worry, on the Nexus 5 you need the -438 version.)

I have tried everything from updating to downgrading, signed out, signed in, cleared cache, the lot. You name it I did it. And when I press the notification it doesn't do anything, its supposed to take me to GPS on Play store.
So yeah :/ what a mess.
Tried installing twice in a row with reboot... Nothing
Side one more reboot.....and it went away!
Hello
Info:
Updated recently to 11 using full factory image with wipe (with - w flag).
Rooted with Magisk (canary update channel, see images)
Patched clean boot file and flashed with fastboot flash boot magisk_patched.img
All good.
Problem: trying to open a .docx file from storage with M$ Word. Screen goes black and phone restarts. On first restart I get the dreaded "cannot load android system - try again or factory reset. Luckily try again does boot my phone.
Attempted solution: remove and reinstall word - click uninstall -" the app wasn't found in the list of installed apps" - see image.
Went to play store to reinstall - only have "open" button - when clicked, screen goes black and back to "cannot load android system" screen ?
Any ideas/advice much appreciated
Many thanks
*Update*
Couldn't resolve via normal methods -
Used App Inspector (UBQSoft) from playstore to see if M$ Word showed up in there and it did:
From there, clicked the cog wheel to go through to "App Info" screen and was able to successfully uninstall from there.
Installed the Office full suite as a work around and am now able to open the document as needed.
Any thoughts or info still appreciate - especially if anyone has had a similar bug, even with different apps.
Many thanks ?
Further Update
So, I've gone back to the same document about an hour after being able to open it - same prob, screen goes black, phone restarts to "cannot load android system - try again or factory reset"
Tried open again from within Files,
got message "none of you apps can open this file"
I have office installed - see images.
I think I'm going to go back to Android 10 - this is quite the inconvenience for the time being
Not sure if it's 11, Magisk or kernel (using the latest EXKM)
but it's system UI that keeps crashing - I cleared out storage and cache as I am currently unable to uninstall Office, even via App Inspector.
*Solved*
Removed one of my Outlook/Micro$oft accounts to which Word and Office were both previously syncing - removed Office via playstore Uninstall button and rebooted phone.
Tested opening the same document both from Files, SolidExplorer and from within Word, opens for editing no probs and performs as expected.
Root and EXKM still installed and fine.
Sorry for multiple updates, just thought it might be useful for anyobe with similar issues.

I rooted this device (model XT2131-1 TMO) while it was still on the android 11 using magisk method (currently on v25.2) and it runs fine honestly but when playing games every time the system update window appears it will completely boot me out of said game. I always selected not now( as I know updates break root if you just update) but I wanted to try and just update it and work on rooting that version after but then I receive "Package Verification Failed" notice and nothing happens. After so many attempts of selecting "not now" it will completely stop for a few weeks then start popping up again. So far this is absolutely the only issue I have ATM. More an annoyance really. Is there a way to completely disable that system update notification from appearing entirely or where should I look to restore, update, and then reboot on Android 12? I'd prefer just get rid of the update popup as everything else works fine. I'd appreciate any help thank you.
I also just remembered I've asked this in another thread but in this one im asking more about preferably disabling the system update notification entirely which will fix my main issue of it.

Solution: flash current stock kernel and run update again. You can grab updated stock kernel from RSA and patch and regain root

You can't delete it but you can certainly freeze it find an app like SD maid on Google Play you can freeze all the update apps and associated dll files there's about six or seven of them
I've still got an older pro version of that actually. Ty I'll look into that.
I'm seeing two under sdmaid. Both say frozen already. Which one is the actual android system update app pls?

Yes but there is android system update and then Motorola system update. I've disabled/froze(yes using sd maid and other root accessed app managers separately so as not to mess up anything else) both and their services/triggers (anything linked to ether) each at a time for a couple days and both at the same time and still appears constantly. Only thing I can think of is to completely reset to full stock,go to 12 and reboot ....
Try to disablw this application. i read that this help. I do not vouch for it, I’m not responsible for what happens due to it.

Look for an app called preference manager on Google Play.
Of course it'll require root.
Select each individual app it'll take you to the XML file it creates.
Look for all the timer entries and change them to zero basically make a mess out of it if you will.
As long as you've disabled all the receivers that should stop the app from Auto Wake
