I was wondering if anybody found an Equalizer for android by now.
Would love to fine tune the sound of the song on my phone!
Yes interested in this too, love to be able to adjust the stereo balance, seem to be going slightly deaf in one ear.
The only thing I'm aware of is meltus' audio hack. It replaces the equalizer with one for higher volume, but he's released a few and suggests which work best for certain genres. I know it's not quite what you're looking for but you might find it useful. This does require a rooted phone.
I have seen two or three eq in the app store, but I am not sure if its available in your local.
A bit late, but I know this has been bugging me, so incase anyone else comes here looking, Astro Player does have equalizer (don't forget to check 'use equalizer' at the top before using the sliders). app is free with ads, $3 without them.
My Milestone has an builtin app to set the equaliser type like Bass Extreme, Bass Punch, etc. the bass is actually greatly enhanced!

Tell us more about this app. What is it's name for example?
I'm reviving this thread in the hopes that someone knows of an app that will allow me to balance the left and right channels on all stereo sound coming from the headphone jack. Failing that, any music/video player that has a balance control would be great.
Anyone know of one?
Thanks!

Bought the pay version but couldn't find the left /right balance control. Is it In the EQ area?
CyanogenMod 6 has a built in app called "DSP Manager" that lets you set EQ and dynamics (compression) for 3 profiles: headset, phone speaker and bluetooth.
I haven't really tested it but it looks pretty impressive. I'm not sure if it's available outside of CM6 or not.
Not sure if this helps being new to this. I tried audioplayerwitheq platinum on the HTC Desire which gives eq plus seperate left and right volume ajustment. Not the friendliest player though. Anyone know of a better one? Hope this helps you dc41
i hope someone port AudioBooster (WM) for Android
Been a while..
Still looking for a standalone equalizer for android.
i do see more and more players with build in eq. but i am now using the one from fede, which does not (yet?) have one.
i did find one eq, but it was for 2.3 only..
and i still use 2.2 on my dhd.
Player Pro has an equalizer so does PowerAMP
Not sure about stand alone, sorry :|
PowerAmp is a nice app.

You have to sign in to download it
i don't like to use that kind of apps. your speaker will not take it for along. better use some EQ app and cut off everything below 200Hz and then raise the volume.
any1 notice much difference?

if ya wanna go the safe route without having to flash anything new, you can just DL "galaxy tuner" from the market, my ISH is cranked!! its got other uses too but i use it for audio in order to make sure i hear the Ph going off. its got 5 bars of EQ you can mess with in order to get a nice crisp sound thats LOUD as HE||

Noe that's news we're all waiting for
Voodoo control plus from the app market, only 2$ and worth every penny, makes a world of difference. Best sound quality I've heard out of a phone.
download "galaxy tuner" from the market, you can amp your lil SGS4g speaker pretty high
i actually bought the voodoo control sound last week.
I bought the voodoo control app for $2 in the market. I rooted for this app. YOU DON'T NEED A CUSTOM KERNEL! The sound is GREAT on my Bose Mobile headphones

I wouldn't be sharing this if I didn't think that it was helpful, so please look into this.
There is an app on the play store called [ROOT] Beats Audio Installer. It is made by motioncoding, so all the credit and thanks should go to them. What this app does is that it installs the beats audio drivers to any android phone, as long as the phone is rooted. It is advised that one makes a backup of their data (nandroid and titanium will suffice), because once you install this app and run it to install beats audio, you can't uninstall this. The only thing you can do is factory reset. I have used this app and it worked for me. My music quality is substantially better. YOU DO NOT NEED BEATS HEADPHONES FOR THIS APP TO RUN. I do not know if this app will give you beats audio quality sound if you use youtube, pandora, or spotify. I believe that it shall, if you use headphones to listen to your media, because a "beats audio" notification appears every time you use headphones. I do not know if a lot of people know about this, but I just wanted to share this app, because I believe it is great. The link is: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.motioncoding.beats&hl=en
There is also a mod that you guys can try. You need to have DSP Manager for this to work, but you can try to see how it works without it. Remember, i am not responsible for anything that happens to your phone. The flashable zip is linked.
If you have any questions, please comment. Remember, thank motioncoding...and you can press the "thanks" button if i have helped you
This is pretty cool. They say they use Rockodev's beats mod, but having this app to do it for you is nice. (Also having the notification is sick!)
I find the first review funny, he says "the app works without root, notification appears, but please actually make the sound quality better" lol he doesn't realize...

Yeah, I came across this while looking for a beats audio zip file on my 4.1.1. rom for my droid incredible. Oh dear...poor him lol.
dont do unrooted
if you do unrooted it has a chance of screwing up your phone if it is one of the newer versions. even though the app says "continue without root" . trust me. dont.

There was a debate about this around a while back on whether it is a placebo effect right?
I seem to remember Supercurio giving a review on this.

Beats Audio works well for me in the Jellybam rom :good:
which one do you have a better experience with?
i'm currently running aokp's jb build4... any help would be appreciated.
also, links to working versions? i found the beats xda thread, but i cant find anything substantial on a jellybean version of dsp.
i've also heard that beats only works w/ certain apps while dsp is across the board?
thanks

DSP. Beats is quick an easy, but you can't fine tune like you can with DSPManager.
Just download any CM rom and extract DSPManager.
I'll skip the Beats gimmick and stick with direct audio output from VooDoo Sound thank you very much.

DSPManager is good to compensate for somewhat subpar speakers/headphones though. You know, like most portable headphones that people buy. =)
I think voodoo does the trick, that and I use the awesome equalizer in poweramp

DSP seems to be the standard in most custom ROMS. Voodoo gives color control but is for more advanced users. I find Beats to be more for the person who uses there phone as their iPod with fancy high dollar headphones.

Fortunately, if you use euroskank roms or slim roms they will have voodoo settings integrated into the DSPManager, as long as the kernel supported it as well.

Unfortunately, poweramp doesn't, and I assume other 3rd party players don't either. But that's not a big problem here in Canada, where Google music isn't really supported
