Coming from a Droid Inc, the camera app on my charge is painfully slow. Is there any way to speed this thing up? or is there a replacement cam app that works better?

How can we improve defy camera shutter speed?iphone 4 or xperia arc can take a picture 1/1000 at a second shutter speed but defy take very slow and photos are worst.
I think it is related to hardware, I tried an app before that says you can change shutter speed but it didn't work

The shutter on the defy is fully electronic and the aperture seems fixed at f2.8 which is pretty fast so the shutter will only go really quick when it's a bright day, if it's dull it doesn't need to go fast because it's a fast lens.
I took a photo today and the exif shows the shutter speed was 1/1495, I only use 1/1000 for fast jets at air shows using my DSLR gear.

Can you compare shutter speed with other phones? Fast shutter speed=low quality in dark?
No, a fast shutter speed lets less light get to the sensor, thus you can take pictures in very bright conditions, or you can freeze the image (for car racing events, etc).
You need slow shutter speeds (or high ISO values but those generate noise) to take night shots.
could there ever be a way to turn the camera on the original droid into a high speed camera?
Anyone experiencing overheating while multi tasking?

It gets warmer - ca. 40C, but didn't noticed any lag caused by it, so no overheating for me.
No overheating, seems the snapdragon 820 has solved the heat problem of the 810. Till now never experienced a temperature higher than 40-43°C. And no lags.
Mine lags specially if I set video to 4k. And also if im doing multi tasking.

My phone only gets little warm near RGBC/laser but thats it. G3 was almost all the time hot/red hot near/under power button. When i tried to snap some test photos and about 3 mins of 1080p video and 5-8min 4K it got warmer but nothing more, after shutting camrea apk down i got a warning that the device is hot and camera wont be avaliable for a while. When charging it gets warm but that is normal. There is no lag or stutter, maybe when you played some graphically advanced games NOVA,RR3, simcity when you power down after unlocking ther is a half second lag before a animation/start screen kicks in and thats all, interface runs preety smoothly
sony xz is so ****. it lags like a mother ****er and over heats. cant send 4 snaps with out it having a fit. Then once it starts i cant record a snap it just jips and zips about. i dont understand y its doing this. its a brand new 500 quid phone.. it shouldnt be doing this 3 months into buying this ****
after the nougat update i set the resolution from WQHD to FHD and there isnt any notable diference in image quality how ever the batery life improved a lot... :victory:
I couldn't tell any difference in battery, but the UI is definitely faster with FHD and I can't tell the difference in image quality at all.
Same I was trying to see if there was a difference...Nada. UI is significantly faster than before and the battery like is much improved. I'm extremely consistent in my daily use of my phone. Usually by this time of day battery is down to 75%. Currently at 91%.

I use the lowest setting also and seems to be just fine. I will probably switch if I stream Prime or netflix, but for everyday stuff the lowest setting is great
I noticed Facebook pictures were only showing about 75% of the picture and it doesn't let me scroll over either.

Hi. Anyone using G wallpapers? I find the movement to be way over sensitive compared to how it was on my pixel. Currently using daily city scapes.
Does anyone know a way to adjust it without totally killing motion? Also, should I expect worse off battery due to the CPU/GPU cycles for the motion?
