too lazy to find the posts for it but it has to do with syncing with Google, apparently it compresses your contact pics

I had observed the same thing with mine and i found out later the main reason behind that. Thanks to a different contact pic for that contact from the one in google. In this case you can go to people (contacts) select the contact and in the contact details click on the image and an option will open up. in this option you just need to select the image to be shown from which account. for example the image set from phone or google account or any other account that you have linked. Image using google account will be blurred. I am not sure if i have been of any help to you but you can check the same and confirm.
I was so pissed of with this linked contacts thing that i finally unlinked all of them as even after unchecking google from view option it displayed all the stuff from that account.
xnifex is right, it's been a problem long ago..only solution is to not sync it with google, but that is soo impractical. it's better to link them with facebook for htc sense

Are you using Google for your contacts? I so do thru Gmail.
The best way, for me, with contacts is in Gmail on my computer.
You can do everythink and it's sync with your phone.
Sorry for my english
Oh thank you ... wonder why I did not get that thought....
Thanks dude

I just do all my contact management through Google Contacts through my web browser lol. No point in fiddling with your Nexus S to do it.

Sync contact images

Is there any way to forcefully sync contact images?
Some of my contacts have put/updated their contact images but they are not being synced...
Also, they are coming in low quality even though I'm using JB...

Known "issue". Although JB supports high resolution contact pictures it syncs small ones. I personally use HaxSync to sync my contacts with their Facebook accounts to get high quality pictures. Not sure if there's a free/better way.
Use Facebook Contact Sync. Free in the Play Store.
I forgot to mention that I do not use Facebook.
The only contact images I have are the images set by the users.
Any other app or workaround you can think of?

Contact images sync & come if I flash my phone with any ROM and sync again...
Any way to do it without flashing?

Google just started to let JB users to sync 700x700 contact pics compared to the privious 90x90. I saw a post about this a couple days ago, just not sure where. I verify that higher quality pics now sync.

I have some high quality images and some low quality images in contacts...the whole thing is messy now...I want to force syncing the high quality images...

I could be wrong. But I'm pretty sure if you have Google sync enabled on your phone the high quality pics and any other contact info changed should sync. If it doesn't sync automatically, go into settings and sync contact.

I haven't tried, but hope this helps..

Caller ID photo blurry

Is there a way to make the Caller ID photos not blurry other then using HD Full Screen Caller ID app? I use Ubersync for facebook to update my contacts photos and information in my contacts but they all come out blurry.
I use haxsync which is pretty good and takes HD pictures from Facebook. There's also sync me but I haven't tried it.

I prefer sync.me

Does it sync with hd pic? 'cause the last time I checked, the result was not as good as haxsync.

There is only one "small" problem... It's not possible to find haxsync on Play....

The pics are super sharp and it also adds some cool features to call screen if you choose to use them. I just discovered this app a couple days ago when I realized that haxsync wasn't updated to work with kitkat.
I use UberSync for Facebook. I didn't know about sync.me until now and I can't compare them, but UberSync does its work pretty well.

Sync.me doesn't incorporate with contacts app, it's a standalone app, so I think haxsync it's a one-way solution, if ubersync doesn't sync with hd pics. Haxsync works with KitKat.

I used to use sync.me but personally I find haxsync much better. Also it syncs much more like calendars, status updates and the pictures seem better.

Am I the only one here that would have a contact list full of either random people, or dogs, or famous people if they sync'd their facebook friends profile pictures?
lol
I have manually added contact images since i went Nexus simply because i got sick of not seeing the actual person that was calling me....I'm a little OCD about stuff like that...so i manually went in and plucked High res images from Facebook for each contact, uploaded them, and they get sync'd across in nice crisp images now. I rarely add new contacts, but when i do, I just do it manually. it kinda sucks, but its the only way i can get an accurate picture that is the same every time that person calls me.
What about non Facebook people? I don't use Facebook for anything but I would still like HD pictures. Any ideas?

So anyone have a reliable link to haxsync?

There's a problem with syncing..
HaxSync
I've unpublished HaxSync from Google Play for now until this gets resolved.

Seriously? We have to use a 3rd party for this??? What a pain. Had this with S3 and now S4. I find it hard to believe (call me naive) but why can't Samsung or Google, or Android or whoever simply make this little item work. All my FB synced contacts the photo is blurry.

Contact pics

I sold my note 3 yesterday and bought a nexus 5.
In the stock contact app I don't see pictures on the contacts.
On Samsung n HTC it use to merge FB and wapp pics and show as contact pics.
Is there a way to do it here? I've got the fb account set up and it's working.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
You need an app to do it, e.g. Haxsync:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.mots.haxsync
Stock Android doesn't have the option to sync with Facebook contacts
HaxSync is blocked by Facebook at the moment. SyncMe is the better option. Its improved a lot recently.
I paid the money and it didn't work..luckily the refund option was still available.. Thank you.. I'll try that

I may start using it again for birthdays then. Although Sync ME does seem better at the moment...
I would use it but it leaves an icon in my app drawer whereas Haxsync doesn't

Sometimes have to allow Haxsync to sync a few times at first, depends on how many contacts you have to sync (I only have 56 contacts on my phone). Personally, it's the best app I've used, been using it on my old phones (GNex, Nexus 4) and now my Nexus 5
