ANother day and yet another problem with my Nexus S.
I was forced to restore factory settings today because my phone stopped syncing since updating to 2.3.3.
Now syncing is working, but for some strange reason it seems that both the 3G and WiFi icons are on in my taskbar..
WTF?? Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks..
Been posted before, nobody knows why.
This happens to me as well, but its not a problem, it uses wifi in preference to 3G. You should see it showing no 3G activity when downloading with wifi on.
Hi I'm running CM7 w/ dream kernel and my GPS isn't locking on at all. Also, my wifi keeps displaying "disabled" and refuses to connect. Does anyone who has had similar problems know any fixes?
For GPS, backup up your CM7 then load any sense based ROM. Get a very solid GPS lock (Use GPS status from the market so you can be sure) then restore your CM7 build. Thats the only way I got my GPS to work.

I was having a similar problem before I went back to Das BAMF 1.7.
There are threads about AOSP kernels that have Wifi issues which required a code fix. I suggest flashing a different kernel which has a Wifi fix in the changelog.
(Un)Fortunately GPS problems are not unique to the Thunderbolt. I had similar issues on my Motorola Droid with the AGPS data. Whenever I have GPS problems on any ROM, I run the application "GPS Status & Toolbox" by "EclipSim". It is capable of forcing an AGPS update. After getting the updated data Force Stop and restart the application having a GPS synchronization problem. If AGPS data was the issue then the application should sync quickly.
I tried both of those but they didnt work. The thing is wifi worked fine for about 3 days and started malfunctioning this morning. GPS didn't work from the start.
GPS won't lock on on my backup either

Go to your sense based rom. Download gps status from the market. Open gps status, hit menu then go to toolbox. Clear gps data and then redownload agps data. Get gps lock. Go back to CM7.

Did you install the kernel with ROM Manager or Kernel Manager? If you did, your wifi module is probably hosed. Install through CWR. Use the Sense/CM7 rom changing trick to get GPS lock.
Dreamkernel has the Wifi/MMS/Settings fix.
Fixed everything! Thanks guys. This is an amazing community.
Hi everyone,
Nowadays i'm experiencing some problems with my wi-fi connection being really unstable on my Desire GSM with CM 7.0.3 installed. It's connected to wi-fi and suddenly the signal gets down and the device just can't get IP Address from my wireless B/G/N network... after rebooting the phone it just gets fine but after some while again the same.. so I want to log my Wi-Fi adapters status and see what's going wrong with it... I'm sure that it's possible to log because of i heard about that some where.. :

any suggestions how to do this?
I am having this exact problem....
A lot of ppl are having this problem. Please someone help us..
A temporary way to solve is to switch to b /g mode until getting some fix but it will reduce the speed and coverage area.

I don't know what I did (or if I even did anything), but since this morning my mobile data is not working. I would turn on data network mode, but no icon appears in the status bar and I can't connect. Does anyone know what's going on or how to fix this?
I'm running Infused v. 2.0.2 if that helps.
Have you tried flashing to stock? if it is working, then flash back to 2.0.2 and check again. maybe its an anomaly, maybe its a bad app conflicting with something. I know done people are reporting issues with data in 2.0.2 perhaps you are experiencing more advanced symptoms.
Infused with gingerbread **** thanks GTG465X
I'm having a simular proble but my data sometime's stop's working after i use my wifi and i have to reboot to get it to work im running Infused v2.2.3 whitch is a awesome rom , wondering how I can work out that bug myself , but as far as your data not working I have run into that myself check your apn setting
Hi, I am running on the ICS 4.0.4 build LQ1. Recently my wifi keeps dropping off. I have to keep turning off n on to connect back and it only lasts for a few seconds. Anyone had this issue?
Anyone in ICS ). Or a (bad) Huawei router. Jokes aside, try to fix permissions via Rom Manager and be sure that you have only one remembered wifi network. It's strange, but Samsung ICS "connection manager" disconnect from active wifi connection and jumps on the other(s). And not returning back...Or, better, try a newest custom ROM - if you still want "stock" appearance can use singha rom you can taste JB in Paranoid Android. Both higly recommended. Hope it helps!
PS. check also wifi router and set the wifi to a fixed (non-overlapping) channel - 5 for example.
