So for some reason with CM7 and poweramp. Something went.. a little strange.
For some reason my media scanner ran twice. Seems normal yes, but for some reason. I now have 2 of everything. Every song on my phone and every picture.
Just wanted to know. Short of going through everything and deleted an extra 400 songs or so. Is there a simplier way of going about it?

Sounds like it just duplicated the databases and not the actual files. I'm not near a computer right now or I would get you the name of the database files you can delete and have the phone setup a new database

Whenever you get a chance. Much appreciated

Mine did that once, but I had at least 20 of each...weird...I just formatted my sd and copied my files back...hasn't happened since!...but that's a lot of files!
Had this happen to me once with winamp on perception 10.4. Have you tried just restarting the phone?
That sucks. Delete one of everything.

bad idea. i tried this one time when i noticed '2' of everything. problem is that what you are seeing are just thumbnails tied to a database of your pictures....you go in and delete one of everything and you will likely lose it all.
Does anyone know how to back up the FPse emulator data? I had to restore my phone to a previous date and couldn't back my emulator data up. I lost a month and a halves worth of work from my ff7 game. I was pretty pissed when I found out everything was erased! So is there a way to back up the emulator data to prevent this in the future if I ever need to restore again?
Also, the games save have nothing with the actual games. They save somewhere else. I think it has something to do with the emulator itself.

Have you tried to backup the data by any means? Try Titanium Backup.
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
I'm rooted and running CM7. I have clockworkmod recovery too. Making a back up of my phone is not an issue. I need to back up the emulator itself in its current state.
I have tried copying the emulator itself to my sdcard and still no luck. Which I thought would have solved the issue, but that wasn't the case. So I was thinking maybe there is data from the emulator somewhere on my phone I could back up.(no idea where/how to or I wouldn't be asking!)
I had to restore to a previous back up because I downloaded something and my phone stared getting all wacky. Then a week down the line, the app market wouldn't work. Facebook app and on the browser were blocked. Only on my phone. I tried on a friends phone, and i had no problem signing in.
Just in case something like this happens again, or if ever needed for any reason; I don't want to have to restore and lose a hella game time time.

Ok, so here's what I want you to try: Titanium backup
It will back up *the apk and related data* just tell it to update the backup when you're asleep.

When I'm asleep? What does it take forever? Thanks btw!

No, a full backup takes five minutes, I was meaning to say that you should make a schedule for it to do that, though I am not sure if you can specify only one app for it to update, but I've also never tried it either.
Edit: ok, just checked can't do it for only one app,.but I reccomend using it to back up your apps and data anyhow. If you're on GB and staying there you can also backup system data.
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
Yeah I'm on GB and staying. I've thought about switching to ICS but heard there are lots of kinks that need to be worked out. Maybe ill try it sometime in the future, when a stable version is released.
Up until now, backing up the system data was done on my Linux box. I just use CWM to make a back up, then store the back up on my Linux box. Titanium will make it that much easier.
I'm gonna check titanium out tonight. Thanks again man!

Anyone know how to transfer save-states or memory card data to a pc (to use with ePSXe)?
I'd love play Symphony of the night on my phone, and continue on, on my computer, then back again.
I can automatically sync folders with Dropsync, but I don't know where the files are.

Well, it would either save on the SD card or with the app data. Try googling it, I hae a hunch someone has asked the exact same question before, maybe not on XDA's G2x forum, per se, but somewhere.
Warlock, nvm I misread your post. But I have tried the titanium app and its pretty cool. Now all I have to do now is restore my phone and figure out how to restore the data
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
Ok, I figured it out. I couldn't find them because they are hidden. You need root explorer to access them.
The memory cards on the phone is located at:
data\data\com.emulator.fpse\files\memcards
-copy 'slot1.mcd' to the PC.
-rename it to 'epsxe000.mcr' and put it in the memcards folder in epsxe
-and to get it back to the phone, do the opposite, name it back to 'slot1.mcd' and put it in the folder it came from.
Despite the different extensions, both the android and windows emulators will read the memory cards fine, as long as the name is right.
Cool, so you could play on your PC, save, slap it on your SD card and play on your phone. Maybe it's time I dust off one of my Resident Evil discs. STARS!
Warlock, I tried doing the dame thing. That is essentially backing up the emulator data. So if I ever lost my emulator data I would never lose the spot in the game I am at. I have seen in a bunch of different places that the data would be in the data folder. Oddly, my data folder is empty and has always been empty. Should it be? I even changed the file path of the memory card on my emulator to save to my sdcard. I took a look at it after a save point in FF7 and it was 0kb big.....empty. or was it?

Yeah, that was the problem I was having initially. I gather that you can't see anything inside the 'data' folder with a regular file explorer, you have to use the 'root explorer' app. (I assume your phone has to be rooted to use this).
I'll also add a handy shortcut within Root Explorer. You can bookmark folders, so its really easy to jump to the memcards folder and back to where you want to back them up to. Just long press on the folder you want to bookmark.
Yeah I'm using the regular file manager that came with CM7. I feel really dumb for not thinking about this before. I am rooted so all I had to do was open a terminal and navigate to the data folder lol its not as easy on the eye as a GUI would be but I still don't know why I didn't think of this earlier?! Anywho, ill check out the root explorer app you have suggested. Thanks for the file path to the game data too!

These folders alone take up over 2gb of the 10 available. Cleanrom holds a few folders and cleanmods zip. Twrp holds 1 backup and preboot animations.
Can I just throw them on my comp or dropbox? Or do they need to stay in the HOX hard drive?
Sent from my HTC One X
You can delete them. Hey are just there for mods and backups. I suggest storing all your backups on the computer anyway, some people's SD cards are getting wiped during flashes.

I store mine on Dropbox so I can grab them whenever.
But OP, you might leave CleanMods.zip in place unless you're sure you don't want to change any of the mods later.

Do you have Dropsync? It's a must if your're a power Dropbox user--it lets you set up your phone to run like the desktop version of DB. I've got it set up with a folder on my MBP so anything I drop in there is automatically copied to the Documents folder on my HOX and vice versa. I also use it to keep my backups in order automatically.

Something I did deleted 2 apps and even though I uninstalled and tried to reinstall, I'd get a fail message. Xda and gun bros.
I've attached a screenshot of the 2 files I moved to Downloads folder before the apps went missing and moved back to root of disk drive, then I was able to get xda and gun bros back.
Any idea wtf they are? The last 2 that start with mmc.
Sent from my HTC One X
Those 2 files are used for unlocking your phone. You need to keep those somewhere. I have it in my original email from HTC.

Leave those alone! Those are your backups from unlocking.
Lol thanks guys. I just tried to move it to clean up the root menu and thought it screwed with those 2 apps. Hot sure what else I could've done. Is there something in the CleanROM folder I need to keep in the disk drive? I put that back too

I am bad at math.. But these numbers don't add up. Anybody want to enlighten me? I'm sure it's my ignorance here, but what's using all that space?
Sent from my One X using xda premium
I have the same thing when I check my storage in settings i suppose just how it is but I recommend getting storage analyzer or SD Card Maid from the playstore both are good to have I think they both can give u a more detailed look into your storage on your SD Card
The Only Sensible Way To Live Is Without Rules
look up Sdcard Maid it will clean all the junk out of your storage and fee up loads of space
also when connected to your PC look for a hidden folder called .Trash ( maynot be there i found it when running AOKP and CM ..) delete that and that should freeup some space too
System and app partitions.
~10GB is normal.
Edit: sorry, didn't notice the available.
That reported total available space is odd alright, prob just a glitch.

Also look for LOST.DIR
I think its a repository for files that are corrupt or damaged. Usually not much in here, but once or twice I found several hundred MB of stuff in this folder.
Fixed: thank you all. In mnt/sdcard/. trash
Had over 5GB of old ROMS and backups.
Whew. Thanks.

Got my nexus 5 today, and I have ran across an issue (I think its common) of android deleting the timestamps of images when you transfer them to a new device. I tried copying with windows, Bluetooth, NFC (Superbeam) but all these ways reset the timestamps of the pictures and just kinda screw up the whole collection.
Is there a workaround for this?
Thanks.

I don't think so.
You can edit metadata manually on a pc with third-party software. I had to do it a little time ago, but I don't know the application's name anymore. Google probably knows

The metadata doesn't change. What does change however is the file's "created" time stamp, which means teh images you took no longer show up in file managers / gallery etc in the order you took them.
I thought the metadata of a file includes this timestamp?
Edit: You're right.

I'm surprised there's not some way, this is 2014, and they have 2k 5" displays and phones with 18mo cameras why can't the phone save the timestamp when I copy a picture?
I just decided to use auto backup and not transfer the photos to my 5 because without timestamps from 1 an a half years of photos the collection looks real messy.
