[Q] Is Someone Able To Create a Flashable Odin Zip? - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I recently semi bricked my phone. My baseband version is UKNOWN, so i get no signal for 3G and Voice. But i am able to connect to wifi. I have done all kinds of trouble shooting. Ive been looking for a zip file that i can flash through stock recovery as a update.zip that will put everything back to stock including my radio (Bc i think that is what i have trashed) No computer will show that my phone is connected to it. So Odin and fastboot is not an option. I have been downloading files and placing them in my dropbox account and downloading it to my phone from there. So my question is, Can someone please create a update.zip that will completely wipe my phone out and put everything that was suppose to be on my phone back on there.
I Have a Nexus S through Sprint D720
Android Version 2.3.4
Build Number GRJ22
Model Number Nexus S
Thanks in Advance and i will Donate money to whoever can fix my issue!

[q] ntelos showcase

I have a NTELOS SHOWCASE \ Galaxy S Sch-i500 that is not in a happy place right now. Encountered a bad flash and did not backup phone before I did it. The only way to get the phone unbricked was to use a US Cellular Mesmerize flash to get it back up and going. Unfortunately I cannot get any data access on the NTELOS network with it for some reason. I can make and receive calls and text messages but no data!
Is there ANYBODY out there that has a full flash for the ntelos showcase? Any kind of flash? odin, cm recovery backup? whatever!
If there is anybody who can help be bring my phone back to stock ntelos again or atleast help me get my data connectivity back using my current US Cellular firmware that would be most appreciated.
Hi, I was wondering if you ever got any resolution on this. I actually flashed mine to a point of having nothing, but finally figured out how to get my phone to work again - however I'm still having trouble with the data. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!
Unfortunately no. I did find an odin backup for the phone and I loaded it on and the phone is "working" again but its not on any network for some reason. Cant do *228 because it finds nothing and says failed. So its just dead in the water I guess.

[Q] No cell after 2.3.6 (and many attempts to fix it)

ok here goes, first off, i apologize if this is in any way redundant to someone's else question. with the amount of people whose phone got wrecked with the 2.3.6 update im sure somebody has had the problem im having.
like many people i just clicked "install" when google pushed the 2.3.6 ota. my phone was running 2.3.4. rooted. when it rebooted, i was greeted with the android exclamation mark.
i happened to have a clockwork backup so i tried restoring my backup. and restore it did, but not the radio. after the google update my radio was something like NO GSXXK1 or so. i tried the radio fix here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=14564429&mode=linear#post14564429
i tried reflashing the stock 2.3.3 rom from google, wiping the bootloader and all. ive in fact tried many many things that ive read on xda and google forums.
now, ive managed somehow to have a running 2.3.4 with cell signal. using the efs file copy method in he link above. that restored my 3g and ability to place phone calls but sms arent working. i did the *#*#4636#*#* thing and notice that smsc is 00, i tried to set to the right value of +17057969300 for Rogers canada but all i get is an update error followed by a crash.
and now, funny, my search button is acting weird, like an eye that keeps twitching.
im not very knowledgeable in this stuff, just enough to get by and install custom roms but clearly im in over my head now.
why did copying my 3 efs file in the root of the sd card restore signal? i dont think these files really belong there, so just what the heck happened?
is there a way i can restore my nexus S to google stock rom when they shipped the phone? i mean, a complete wipe, sd, boot, radio...everything.
if i can start back with the stock phone, i can re-root again and start fresh.
any ideas please??
im physically tired of reading everything, misleading information and constantly flashing back and forth hoping its gonna work. oh and mandatory angry comment: thank you google for effing up my phone!
edit:
the only stock rom i tried i the 2.3.3 stock update available in clockwork. made no results.
current specs:
my phone is a i9020a
current baseband : NO DGSXXKD1
current build: GRJ22

Thanks dude, i had actually done that and did manage to get a signal back. its SMS that just wont work and when do the INFO thing to set the right value, i either get update error or a crash.
i installed stock rom 2.3.4 and install radio uckd1. that made my signal work even without having to move the efs files on the root of the sdcard. but still no sms.
is anybody else getting sms problems? this was working before the 2.3.6 fiasco.
im with rogers canada, in ottawa.
ok, just to loop the loop on this one and hoping it will be of use to somebody else.
my sms issue wasnt related to my phone at all, once i had a signal back, that's as far as the phone was concerned.
i placed a call to rogers to let them know i couldnt sms anymore.
long story short, they tried many things but ultimately, its doing the "hard" reset on the network for my phone that did it. im sure there a better name for it but basically they erased my phone from their network, i had to wait about an hour for the change to propagate. when i powered the phone back, it resynced everything and sms was back online without a single thing to do.

Lost all service on Nexus S 4G PLEASE HELP!

I am from Canada and i am a noob so i was plyaing around with my phone earlier today when i installed a "bad" rom. Since i am from Canada, my phone is a i9020T, it is a Nexus S 4G, and any other info you would like, i would love to give it to you. So when i installed the bad rom, it put me on a whole other carrer called sprint, which is in the United States only so my phone is currently useless. I would just LOVE to go back to my stock rom and just go back to normal, and never flash any more roms again, its very scary. Please CAN ANYONE HELP!!! I NEED MY PHONE!
i9020T is not the 4G (CDMA), it is the T-Mobile (HSDPA 900/1700/2100) version. There is no need to go back to pure stock, just keep this in mind next time - you want that radio (which is the same as the i9023).
To answer your question though, go to this thread in the general section (stickied) and download your preferred version of i9020T FULL ROM. I'd recommend 2.3.6 (gingerbread) or 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich, the latest but possibly a -few- bugs, though i havn't found any). Download these, put them on your sdcard and flash them in recovery. I'd highly recommend doing a factory data reset, format /system and format /boot. Do this first, and then without rebooting flash the rom from the sdcard.
You should be up and running in no time, this is just a learning experience
My phone is 9020t. It is a Verizon galaxy nexus.
This is common theme tonight on the forum. Don't know what phone you have. Flash things anyways ....
It didnt work it keeps coming up as status 7 error! i cant flash anything! well i can flash this 1 rom but for some reason that one works and these dont! PLEASE HELP!
kwiboo-ics-v3-crespo4g.zip
That is the file i am able to flash but i cant flash the ones you told me too .
Update your clockworkmod recovery. Then flash a working radio.
you are going to need to use fastboot and flash a stock i9020t rom and radio. If you do not understand what I am telling you....do some reading.....

Update your clockworkmod recovery (fastboot flash recovery recovery.img), you can get it from clockworkmod.com/rommanager. Download the Nexus S variant. After this you should be able to flash it.

[Q] No Service After Flashing 2.2.1 Stock ROM

I upgraded 2.3.5 but HATED it, so I decided to flash back 2.2.1. The problem now is that I get no service at all. I tried dialing *228, but it said I needed to turn off airplane mode to make a call (airplane mode was not on). Can anyone help me get my service back? If any extra info is needed, please let me know.
Samsung Mesmerize US Cellular 2.2.1 Froyo
Well, I've been searching around and it seems as if I need the radio file for EE19. So far, every download link I've found is 404. Does anyone have that file?
EDIT: I had bricked my phone, but I figured out how to un-brick it. Still need that radio file and the method for installing it if anyone has it.
Nevermind, I got it working. I don't know for sure what did it, as I did pretty much the same thing over and over every time I bricked it, but one time I just happened to get service.
Here's what I did to get service:
1. Bricked my phone accidentally
2. Flashed DI14 using ODIN v1.83 (Make sure you select it from the PDA button)
3. Restarted phone, made sure it worked.
4. Turned off phone and flashed EE19 using ODIN (again, make sure you select it from the PDA button)
5. Turned phone on, and it had network access for no reason.
I had done this exact same thing a few times before, but I didn't have network access until the last time. I don't know why it worked, I just know it did. If anyone else is having the same problem, I hope this works for you, but no promises.
Also, if you do end up bricking your phone, the best way to get it to work again is to use ODIN to flash DI14, turn on the phone, then remove battery and flash EE19. Then you can upgrade from there.

[Q] I can't load CWM on my SGS 4G (T-Mobile)

Hello all,
Okay, I admit that I am gonna get a lot of "use the search tool first" replies, but please hear me out. I have done my fair share of searching. Its not that I haven't found anything, its just the things I found are useless for this SGS 4G. I really wanted to install Cyanogen Mo on the SGS (its not actually mine, a friend asked me to do it since he saw my old SGS GT-I9000 running CM).
I am gonna try and give a detailed report . The phone was originally from T-Mobile and now unlocked permanently. Its running firmware version 2.3.3 that I installed just recently. I found out that I can't install CWM on the stock kernel or bootloader or whatever and I needed a new of the thing. So I went on searching and searching....found a handful of help but none work. Every method breaks at some point and I go to the "firmware update failed" thing on the phone, which I then install 2.3.3 again using ODIN and try another method. I have tried a lot of things. Hemidall, ODIN, SuperOneClick, and a lot of gibbrish-sounding methods. None work. I am now running 2.3.3. Here are some infos:
ABOUT PHONE:
Model Number: SGH-T959V
Firmware Version: 2.3.3
Baseband Version: T959VUVKF1
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7-T959VUVKF1-CL270364
Build Number: GINGERBREAD.VUVKF1
The files I used to flash to 2.3.3 using ODIN v1.85:
PIT: Hawk_Sidekick_VibrantPlus_831.pit
PDA: CODE_T959VUVKF1_CL270364_REV00_user_low_noship.tar.md5
PHONE: T959VUVKF1-Phone-CL1020302.tar.md5
CSC: SGH-T959V-CSC-TMB-VIBRANTP.tar.md5
I hope the above infos are enough. So, can anyone help me and point me to the right direction on how to install CWM and then install CM10 or 9 on my friends SGS 4G?
Thanks,
Tamrat
Hmmm, an interesting set of binaries, ones that don't ring a bell with me. I'm used to seeing T959VUVKJ6.
Where did you find those? Half curiosity, half trying to understand the problem, half since much of the "old" images for the phones got lost when Multiupload and what have you were shut down.
For the SGS4G, the kernel, root file system, and recovery file system are all in "boot.img" -- flash one, you flash them all. They can be flashed through Odin (assuming you really like Windows), heimdall (multi-platform), through recovery, or from a root command line (for the adventurous only).
I would say the most robust way to get where you need to be would be to use Lumin's guide to make sure you've got a viable Gingerbread set-up going, then flash something reliable to get you to MTD, like TeamAcid's CM9.
From there, you should know that some of the KK ROMs use slightly different MTD partitioning and aren't a "just flash this ROM and keep your data" kind of thing.

A long day Googling... and then a site turned up. One thing I forgot to mention was, before I installed this firmware, I had to use the "remove battery->plug usb->press the button combos->insert the battery" to enter download mode, but now I juts have to press vol down and power button.
Thanks for the reply,
Failure again
UPDATE:::
I tried to update to 2.3.6 as the guide suggests and I also wanted a clean stock OS in case the old one was not. But once again updating to 2.3.6 has been a pain. Kies Mini recognizes the phone but it doesn't recognize the firmware running on the phone. And also, firmware update is impossible since the button is greyed out.
I googled again and found the official 2.3.6 firmware for the phone (file name: T959VUVKJ6-REV00-home-low-CL694130.tar.md5) and tried flashing it using ODIN; absolutely no luck. It fails at the stage which says Slb.bin. Restarting the phone after that gives a "firmware upgrade failure" display. Only way to wake up the phone is to flash the previous OS back.
I am really confused here.
*********************EDIT***************
Some how, after like 10 retires and fiddling with ODIN, it finally flashed 2.3.6 to the SGS 4G. Still, fingers crossed.
*********************EDIT 2***************
Finally, its all working fine now. Thank you @jeffsf, thank you very much.

forgot an important step and now my IEMI number is gone........
do i throw the phone now, or is there any other way???
Don't throw your phone away! How do you know that you have "no IMEI" on your phone? We'll go from there.
Hopefully, you've backed up your data before starting to play around with ROMS. If so just load your backed up efs folder onto your storage & use Root Explorer to drop it over your existing one , it will overwrite your imei file & you will be good as new.

I'm also in need of help, I have been running SlimSaber since last weekend, was wanting to try out Beanstalk. First full wipe, install & reboot wipe again, reinstall etc as per Dao's OP, but after the first install, it won't boot past the kernel splash. Tried again with same result. Decided to click it back to stock & start over, using Gremlin Remover (odin). Then saw that others were having similar issue so I tried to load in build from April1st.
But now it only boots back into recovery, won't boot to the OS ( everything indicated install was complete & no errors.)
1 clicked back again & just tried to put SlimSaber back on again, but have the same problem, will only boot into recovery.
I had to first load CM9 to get CWM 6.xx so I could install kk using TWRP
What am I not doing correctly? Thanks for any suggestions.
Flash kernel
Reboot recovery
Wipe all partitions
(Reboot recovery for good measure and wipe again if paranoid)
Install
Boot
If that doesn't do it, it is likely ROM or hardware.

Posted from whatever phone booted today
Since this is running GB VUVKG4, could you recommend a kernel that would work & get me to TWRP (or CWM 5.xx+)?
Either the Team Acid CM9 or Hefe Kernel should work.
