My Nexus S 2.3.4 is not rooted.
Is it possible to save game progress?
It depends on the game...
I am not sure if there is an app to "save state" or something like this, so, doesn´t really matters if you´re rooted or not.
The game should save your game. If you mean backing up your game progress, you need to be rooted and use titanium backup (or any other backup app)

not sure if this is the correct spot but is there a way to transfer my angry birds game between ROM switches. i love switching ROMs occasionally but hate losing game progress. so is there a way to move it to my pc or sd card and then back to the phone after another flash of a new ROM.
currently on Fresh3.3.0.1
going to move to myn.
apps2sd does not work by the way. atleast since i last tried (last week)
If you use Titanium backup, it'll backup the app and the data so when you restore it. then you'll be able to pick up where you left off.
yup thats what i do to save my game!! no way im losing my stars!! haha
after every game I fire up titanium backup!!

exactly what i do.
I was more saying save angry birds. Switch roms. Load angry birds on new Rom and play as if it is on your old Rom

Yes, titanium back up will do that. D/L from market, click on app to backup, flash new rom, d/l ti backup from market, click app to restore, and then you will have a choice App or APP+Data, choose App+Data and your progress up to the last time you backed it up will be restored on any ROM.

Just cheat.
Open the app, center the world you want to unlock.
the press back button until your out of app.
Restart app. Then spam push the play button,
Your unlocked. As long as you complete the first world, it will stay unlocked.
I just rooted my girlfriends EVO and installed Fresh. I used appbrain to backup the apps, she nearly had a heart attack when she saw her angry birds deleted.
Lesson learned.
I've got an issue and want to know if someone has an easy solution.
I'd like to bring over all my apps from my phone, but bring their saved data with them. I know how to do this with titanium backup, but I don't want to go through all the trouble with rooting just to use it. Since Asus is still working out their bugs with OTA updates, I don't want to lose the OTA notifications.
An example is I already installed Angry Birds, but I have to start over from the beginning. Is there any way to get the saved data from my phone so I don't have to play all those levels again? (obviously, I want app data for more apps than just angry birds, but this is an easy example)
My Transformer is working fine with none of the reported bugs at all. I don't want to downgrade, root, then upgrade again and risk ruining a good thing unless that's the only option.
At least for angry birds, you can get an app in the marketplace that will backup and restore your game saves. Just search Angry Birds Backup.
Awesome, Thanks! That one worked like a charm.
Now I just hope someone writes a backup app for every app I have installed.

try this> mybackup. the best solution for a batch file installation. You can setup a schedule of backups as well. There is a paid version and a free version.
The other day, I wanted to flash the GB leak in the dev section. I'm currently on the stock, rooted rom. So, I downloaded TB, free version, from the market.
I went on YouTube, to watch a few video tutorials, and see how everything works. When I felt confident, I went into the batch section, and selected "Backup all apps + data".
There were only 5-6 apps I wanted to backup, mostly games like drag racing, plants vs zombies, and angry birds. I flash the rom, and go back into TB, and restore my apps + data. 2 apps didn't transfer, saying there was an issue with the file. No big deal. They weren't that important to me, anyway. Angry birds went through just fine, as did Grow. The only one that didn't work, that I really wanted to work was Plants vs Zombies. It "restored" successfully, but it would force close as soon as I click to run the game. I tried uninstalling the game, reinstalling it. Running it, to make sure it worked, then go into TB, and restore data only. Same thing. Just force closes right away.
Based on my description of how I backed up my data, and how I restored my data, is there an "a-ha!" moment in there, as to why a couple apps would restore just fine, and one wouldn't restore successfully?
Might be in the way they restore to the differant UI's. You went from Froyo to GB. Might have to just restore the app, without data . Also, IMO I'd purchase the paid version of Titanium Backuo.. Worth every cent. Also very cheap for what you get. Saved my toast more than once. Just my two cents.
Don't have a solution but I can confirm general probs restoring apps I got from Amazon. Recently moved all apps to sd-ext and most apps survived fine but the Amazon apps almost all had to be reinstalled fresh, had force closes after restoring data. Lost my Plants v Zombies progress too

Thanks. This is not really the news I want to hear. We should contact devs, and ask them to add backup functionality into their games.
I've restored amazon apps before. Trick is, install from amazon, open app and finish one level or so, then restore "data only" from titanium. Worked fine for me then.

I've got plenty of apps that do auto backup, there's no reason they all shouldn't.

Not sure if this is the right spot to post this in but ever since the app has been updated to 1.0.7, the app requests superuser a few seconds after i select load game.
Yes the apk was downloaded directly from google play
I am using a rooted Transformer TF101 stock rom with SuperSU
Should i redownload the game, get rid of it or just deny ( as i have been doing so far)
Does anyone know why it even requests root?

i once downloaded one of gamevil's other games called Legend of Master 3 and it asked for root permissions. i granted it, and a dialog told me that it wont run on rooted devices. idk if yours is working, but it sounds like they are trying to implement that into their other games as well. im not sure why, since most their games are free... and there isnt any competitive play so no one can cheat...
Thanks for the response, was beginning to think it was just me. Guess ill just leave it as deny always, maybe you should try that out too if your still interested in that game
Always pisses me off when game makers try to deny rooted users tho i guess they are worried about making money since its one of those buy coins to get upgrades type of game
So I have a rooted Asus Transformer (TF101), and I have several games on it that I've made quite a lot of progress in. I was wondering if there was some sort of app or something I could use to back up the save games/data across device reformats. When I went from JB 4.2 to JB 4.3, I thought I had used Titanium Backup correctly, and ended up losing nearly 2 months of progress in several games. Does anyone know if I need to have the Pro version of TB or if I just used it incorrectly? Or even another alternative?
I used Titanium backup (free) several times and never had any issue. Make sure to save apps+data and if device is rooted it should work. Some software for pc (such as Moroboro) can backup data but it don't always work, and this one is pretty invasive.
You can just backup the app data with google in sync settings
I use titanium also
Hmm... I'll have to give it another go after work and class then, and check out the google syncing, thanks for the replies.
another question, somewhat related:
Is it possible to use TB to restore saved data to a non-rooted device if I decide to switch the games to something else?
Titanium backup
