Hi, I want to update from ICS to JB with the recently released OTA, but if I use the Update checker from "Configuration" menu the only message I get is "Your phone is up to date...". I've downloaded and tried to apply the update from the zip uploaded by an user in another thread but it fails while checking the value of ro.build.fingerprint in build.prop expecting to find the version 7.7.1Q-144-VQL_S3-58 (and the phone is 7.7.1Q-144-VQL_S3-56)
The thing is: If I flash that version from my carrier (found in the Firmware superthread) would I incur in some troubles with the ota and/or the configuration itself?
I updated my nexus 5 to lollipop by sideloading the ota zip files as i couldn't wait for the OTA . Will i receive future android updates through OTA ? . My phone is not rooted.
Yes you will receive future ota.
But I'm sure you wouldn't wait next time either
It is possible to turn off the "OTA ROM Update Available" notification under KitKit 4.4.4? It's annoying and I don't want to upgrade.
Facing an odd issue, it appears in Kies and says the update to lollipop is available for the device (SM-N915G, XSA, Australia) the phone is unlocked, so it's not through a carrier and it was brought outright, when plugged into kies it says there's an update available, click update, nothing happens at all after proceeding with "Next" "Update" etc.
The update doesn't appear in Settings > About device > System update. What can I do?
(PS. Not a rooted device, not modded, no TWRP/CWM, not unlocked bootloader or anything, keeping 100% stock please.)
I'm using mate 9 pro. Version is LON-L29C636B139.
I heard the latest version is B156. How can I get such update. I tried checking update in settings but it says no update available for me.
It would depend on your region and which updates your carrier has approved to be released via OTA. Some carriers take long to test updates before release, as is the case here in Australia.
Where are you located?
I have the same version as you and had to use the Firmware Finder method to get the 156 update.

Hi!
I tried using the Firmware Finder method. Downloaded firmware through Firmware Finder, set Localhost and port 8080. But find nothing when search for update through the settings. Any ideas?

Sorry, not sure what to suggest. I just followed the instructions as per the app and thread on here, and it worked first time.

Don't download the files through Firmware Finder (useless to you), change settings in Firmware Finder to "Installation via system update", "Use new firmware base", "Use system download manager" and "View OTA updates". Then refresh the list of firmware, then find the firmware you want to install, tap it and then tap "Send firmware to updater". Then change your Proxy settings, then use the "System update" Settings page to look for updates, it should then popup. Once it starts downloading thru system updater, turn off the Proxy.
