Hello,
yesterday my nexus s informed me that a system update was available. It was supposed to contain video chat over gtalk so I assume it was an update to gingerbread 2.3.4.
I started the installation but after reboot it hangs on the startup screen with the flashing X. Switching to recovery mode does not work - it hangs on a screen with a green droid and an exclamation mark.
I cannot upload any image to the (internal) SD card because it is not detected disc once contected via usb.
Any idea how to fix it?
Regards,
Marcin
when in recovery modfe with the exclamation and droid, press power, then vol up to access the "sd card" partition.
Thanks!
Thanks! This combination works!

Resolution:
- Put SDcard into computer
- Delete the image ( You might want to reformat the card. It wouldn't hurt)
- Re-Copied image to card ( Originally I copied it from the archive directly to the card this may have been my mistake)
- Rebooted phone with call+menu+call end
- Followed the on-screen instructions
--SUCCESS!
I formatted the SD card FAT32, Copied the img to the card, rebooted into the boot loader, and pressed the power button to update.
During the update it seems like it gets to the second to last step and it says Update Terminated Update Fail. Now it's stuck at the tri color screen I can retry the update but same thing happens. so at this point I'm stuck at the tri color screen have to reset it with call+menu+called
shortcut. During the reset I took the battery out while it was powered off. After powering it's just stuck at the tri color screen. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
with the phone off hold "call end+home' for a few seconds then let go..this should get ya to the recovery mode, no? other than that idk :/
thanks for your reply
Hey guys.
So I tried to use the GB kernel to install a custom ROM.
I installed stock+Voodoo-T959VKG4-unsigned-update.zip on my T mobile Galaxy S 4G using CWM. I chose to install a zip file from the sdcard, and I chose that file.
When it first booted up, it actually spoke to me with a robot voice "Converting system partition. Estimated time, 2 minutes" while showing garble on the screen. It looks like when a video driver crashes.
Now it just boots up to garble then goes into a boot loop. Holding down volume up + down on boot up boots to a blank screen with soft buttons illuminated. Odin and ADB don't recognize it but it does do mass storage.
Is it a paperweight?
Having an issue when in recovery mode. When I select the recovery option the screen turns black and the a phone appears in the center of the screen with green arrows that form a circle. After a few seconds a red triangle with an exclmation point appears. Any idea what this is and how do I get to the part where I can install the ICS zip file on my sd card?

Have you tried installing a new recovery, maybe it got corrupted. Also make sure your doing your wipes in recovery before you install your new rom.
Dicht yer neb and flee awea!
xoom stucked on boot logo - none of the buttons work in my old xoom
the power button works but you have to press it from every direction,
both volume buttons dont work
to turn off the xoom I need to disconnect battery so hard reset Power button + Volume won't work
I updated CM 10.1 with the last update and noticed that the 3G doesn't work as good as before so I reverted to previous version and it sucked on the logo
please share your ideas on how to bring the old xoom back alive ?
tried rebooting with and without SIM card in , and SD, no luck still at the logo .
I am going home now so if you can think of how can I restore the tablet with SDK ( if its possible ? ) please drop me a line on how to do it
...managed to install SDK tools and connected xoom to laptop,
but when type : adb reboot recovery , the error I am getting is :
"error: device is offline"
is there any chance to bring it back to live ? please say YES !
Hi everyone.
Ok back in August I purchased an Oppo r7plus "m" version not knowing the difference, from a 3rd party seller. I know I probably should've waited until the phone would go on sale in Canada but I wasn't sure if it ever would. So anyways the phone worked great for a while. I noticed that it came pre loaded with OPPO Tools and Super SU. I thought wow, this phone is rooted right of the box? Great! So I started uninstalling some native apps of which I thought were just "bloatware", everything went fine until I uninstalled the weather app.
When I turned the phone back on after restarting, it now goes into the OS but continuosly flashes on and off and you can only access the dropdown notification screen. Luckily from there I can still access the settings menu. I tried holding the power button and volume down button to go to the factory boot screen. That worked and in there its says the color os version, but in brackets says
(rooted).
I can only assume the phone is still rooted but is stuck in some sort of soft brick. I've been doing alot of reading into how I might be able to fix the phone but I'm having trouble figuring it out. I'm good with computers and all but not to this level and I never rooted an android phone before.
Please somebody HELP.
So I've downloaded the ROM for my phone model, r7 plus m, and I transfered the zip file over to the internal storage of the device. I then held down the volume down and power buttons to boot to color os recovery. Than I cleared cache and install from sd found the zip file and it started to run.
After about a minute or two into the installation it stops and reads "Installation Failed". I'm thinking I need a recovery.img file but I'm not sure. Even if I had that file I don't know what to do next.
Anyone have any ideas?

Hi, how did you sort it? Are you still in need of stock recovery? I have one for model F, dont know if it works with M model.
1. Download and extract my RAR files ---> HERE
2. Open your PC device manager
3. Connect an usb cable only to your pc then press and hold the phone volume + button and then connect the usb cable to the phone
3. In the device manager you will see Qhsub_bulk then release the volume+ button
4. Right click on Qhsub_bulk and choose update driver
5. Use one of the driver folders which you alredy extract to install the Qualcomm driver and you will see it like 9008
6. Your phone have to be charged very well for a few hours before you try to flash it.
7. Remove it from the charger then connect an usb cable only to your pc.
8. Try to press and hold the volume + and power buttons at the same time for a few seconds and connect the usb cable to the phone.
9. You have to see the driver in the device manager like 9006 (you can release the buttons) [it wasn't easy for me so keep trying]
10. Open the MSMDownloader and press start
11. If everything is ok you will see a green progress bar flashing. (I was stuck here with the "NON-HLOS.bin" file which you can see in the "Other NON-HLOS File" folder inside the rom which you download)
12. When the process complete in about 10 minutes you can remove the usb cable from your phone.
13. Now you have to do a veeeeeeeery long press and hold on your power button untill you feel the vibration and after that you will see the OPPO logo.
14. Leave it for 5-10 minutes to load the Color OS.
15. Ok you have a working phone but still some apps icons that are missing and the keyboard doesn't appear when you have to write something.
16. Download THIS zipped ROM and put it in the internal storage of your phone.
17. Shut down the phone then press and hold the volume - and the power button at the same time for a while intil you enter into recovery mode.
18. Choose english and then install rom from zip file. After the installation complete reboot the phone and you will get a working keyboard and few more apps like Browser, Chinese market and else....
For me i still need to insert the IMEI's because they are lost... and now i have message: Oppo nv backup. The NV partition is invalid...
Good luck to all! And if you want to give me a beer: paypal: [email protected]
