Question: My Nexus S is 2.3.3 with the following:
Baseband: M200KRKB3
Kernel: [email protected]#1
Build: GRI54
Which method can I use to just root it? I do not need the ability to
install any custom ROM at the moment.
I have read through several of the rooting threads but the builds are
lower versions and it is unclear if the Clockwork recovery or build.img
(depending on the method) will support the baseband and build listed
above.
I appreciate the help.
Thanks.
Used GingerBreak
Ok, solved it. I tried and successfully rooted using GingerBreak.

I have an HTC EVO 4G. I rooted it a few days ago using Unrevoked 3 because I wanted the free wifi tether app. I then realize how much rooting my phone really opens up for me. So I downloaded ROM Manager and flashed the ClockworkMod Recovery 3.0.0.5 on it. I then flashed a custom ROM. I wiped all data and flashed it. I am running Fresh Evo 3.5.0.1. I decided I wanted to try a different ROM and I noticed one that has hulu. It is AVA FROYO Z3. I downloaded the ROM, wiped all data, and tried to flash it. When I did I got this error message:
“Amend Scripting (update-script) is no longer supported.
Amend scripting was depreciated by Google in Android 1.5
It was necessary to remove it when updating to the Clockwork Mod 3.0 Gingerbread based recovery.
Please switch to edify scripting (updater-script and update-binary) to create working update zip package”
And then the flash failed and I had to install from a recovery. I was told that the clockworkmod version 3 uses a script that isnt supported by this rom and I am out of luck until they update their rom or I downgrade back to a clockwork version 2. Will downgrading to CWMv2 have any negative affects on my phone? How would i go about downgrading? and is it possible to upgrade back to CWMv3 if needed?
By the way this is what my software information is:

Hi I'm new to the forum and I'm looking to root my TF-101 running the following specs:
Android version 3.2
build number: US_epad 8.6.5.6 -20110726
kernal version: 2.6.36.3 android mercury#1
I have done research for a few hours and found some viable root methods but none are confirmed for my version and build number. Can someone post or provide a link for this build?
Thanks in advance.
NVFlash method should work for you with the exception of some B70 device.
Look at your serial number and it should start with a B follow by a number
The NVFlash method requires you to install clockworkmod recovery as well as a custom rom. I recommend the method below. This method gives you the choice of just root or install clockworkmod+custom rom. I used this method to root my transformer after i applied the latest 3.2 OTA update. Note: If you install clockworkmod recovery, you won't be able to receive OTA updates, as they require stock recovery.

Have an evo 4g recently flashed blackend e4g 0.0.1a [2.3.3] . I had CM6 running strong and was able to flash CM7 OMGB Fresh and a bunch more. After flashing blackend I lost root access . I can't get into recovery manually or through rom manager. I tried to reroot using revolutionary method for 2.3.3 and it tells me my hboot version is not supported [ hboot version 0.93.0000 ] Simply put stuck like chuck. Searched google and this forum hope I landed in the right place thanks.
Using CWM recovery android 2.3.3 Baseband version 2.15.00.07.28 kernel version 2.6.35.10-g13578ee build 4.53.651.1 cl133994 release-keys
Lost root
I am having the same problem. With blackened. When I go to titanium backup, I am told the app will not work on a phone that is not rooted. Also when I tried to flash a recovery from rom manager nothing happens it just stalls.
Any help would be appreciated.
Hi.
I flashed CM9 on my sgs2 via Rom Manager the other day. Works great!
Is it possible to remove the yellow triangle at boot and how do I do it? I know that its someting like flashing a stock kernel that mathes my firmware. Would appreciate some enlightenment in the area.
My current kernel version is [email protected]#3
Baseband version is I9100XXKI1
Build number is IML74K
What would be the "correct" stock kernel for me to use? And will I loose root if I flash it?
Thanks!
I rooted my galaxy s2 i9100 using CF Root 5.3 . As all know CF Root 5.3 has SD Card installation issue. The solution is to install CF Root 5.4.
But i unknowingly uninstall SuperSu . Now even if i reinstall SuperSu i cannot get root access.
So what should i do?
I already have CWM present in my device. Should i reinstall CF-Root with version 5.4 or 5.5(SD Card issue solved) on the top of it by using ODIN
..
If that is the solution then Ok...
Or should i reinstall SuperSu from the android market, If i do that i am getting binary error .. I can't open SuperSu
Can someone point me in the right direction
Also can someone tell me which CF-root version is for my device.. My device info is
PDA: I9100XXLPQ
PHONE:I9100DDLP8
CSC:19100DDLP7
OS Version:4.0.3 ICS . No custom roms installed
Kernel Version:
[email protected]#3
Help would be appreciated.. I already searched the forums for answers but could not find them..Cant Install apps on SDCard due to this.
And Sorry for such a Noob Question.
Thanks in Advance
