External speaker? Does it have any way to plug the audio into the car stereo?? 3.5mm audio jack would be nice while the microphone continues to function on the Car kit.
I really want to know if this one has a GPS connection, so I don't have to swap my Holux GM 210 for a BT mouse......
Is this for the XDA or the XDA II?
their connector is suppose to be the same so it should work on both of them

Can you confirm it works with the XDA II?
How does it connect to the XDA II headphone jack?
Does it have an external headphone jack?
(Asking this because I'm currently using an iSound FM transmitter to play MP3 from my XDA II through my car stereo.)
Thanks.
Ed
yes its for the xda2 and has an external headfone jack and gps socket
james
Is this a professionally fitted car kit, hard wired into the power and radio system of the car ?
Also can you tell me what sort of GPS socket it has, I have a Holux GM 210 which has a PS2 type connector??
Cheers

2 No sound from car kit or pda.
3 When the Tom Tom Navigator is saying the ruote non sound from Car kit or PDA
4 When an incomingb call is received swound is hear trought pda notg car kit, whedn you answer the call the car kit start working only to receive call.
5 I've noticed that if i put the headset in the 2.5mm jack at the bottom of the cradle the sound is hear throught the headset and it disconnect the car kit.
Any help would be very helpful.
Send already 2 email to expansys no reply call the they say that I can only contact support by email or forum now I'm stuck do no if it is a fault unit or the car kit work in this manner if it does it is useless.

eXpansis Proffesional car kit
I just had the kit installed and it looks ok. The problem is that the audio is only present when I'm on a call and it's only phone audio. What I need is a way to get the PDA audio (i.e. the navigation speaking) to come through either the car speakers or the speaker included with the kit. The fact that call audio comes through both makes me think there are two problems.
- The first problem seems to be that the kit only passes audio to the speakers when the mute signal is live for the car audio. This wouldn't be the case when listening to pda audio (navigation instructions). This seems more like a problem with the car kit which with a bit of work I could prob. get around.
- The second problem I see is that only phone (call) based audio is passed through the car kit. This problem seems to be more with the XDA. I wonder if there is a registry hack to force all audio to look the same. DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THIS IS THE CASE? If so I would really appreciate some pointers on this.
I'm using the Navman 4410 BT navigation system BTW.
Thanks,
Lyndon.
i think it is indeed a software problem.
when i first got my xda2 i made my own carkit
1 cable with audio out to carstereo, connection to my gps, connection to the charging unit
sound like mp3 and voice calling was fine
now when i updated the ROM it doesnt work anymore, i know 100% that my carkit is fine.

You made your own XDA2 carkit ?
btw. for the Expansys carkit users: Does it have an GPS-connector ? Some dutch guy at expansys said it didn't. But then again, i had to give him the link before he knew they actually sold XDA Carkits
I have a Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 (UK) and the headphone socket has 3 Poles 3.5mm as it deals with Video as well, from what I've been told on DarkysRom forums standard headphones won't work, mine don't, but the Stock 3 Pole ones work fine,
Ive had trouble with Adaptors , but the one I got from Amazon didn't work at all, and the seller quickly took the SGS I9000 off the list of compatible adaptors.
I'm desperately seeking info concerning AUDIO LEFT RIGHT Output from the MICRO USB SOCKET as well as the Headphone Video Out socket.
I need 2 Audio paired outputs for a DJ Software project. 1 for Headphone queing and 1 for amplification (through a HI-FI Amplifier).
Anyone still making CUSTOM HEADPHONE LEADS ?? Or any links?

So im having an issue with the internal microphone staying on with an external mic plugged in. Look down into the headphone jack of your SGS4G. Theres four pins in a staggered arrangement, including the tip contact, that makes five contacts all together. Though the included headphones are still the four contact TRRS type plug.
Now the only diagrams ive found for the pinout of this jack are here in the two diagrams ive found. The pinout for the i9000 shows the mic and ground contacts swapped, and the other for the SGS2 and apparently SGS4G shown with the standard setup with the mic contact as the sleeve. Can anyone confirm this and if there are infact 5 contacts or am i looking at this wrong. This might explain the internal mic staying on.

Im using Valhalla 1.3.2, could the ROM be causing the mic to stay on? I found another thread that brought up this possibility:

Bump, anyone can confirm that the 4G has a standard pinout?
I have an MHL adapter that i used all the time (worked flawlessly) on my Epic Touch for Sprint but I'm having issues with it on my Skyrocket.. I get video but no audio at all through my surround sound. I read a post about a similar issue and the solution was to use the headphone jack and connect it to the input of the external device (in my case, the receiver for my surround sound) but I get nothing. I'm confused/irritated with this so any help or suggestions would be great..

Hey Folks,
I have a HTC Sensation coming in the mail today as a replacement to my Atrix 4G that is showing it wear.
What I do is vlogging on my motorcycle but I've been having a real issue with my audio setup. I just purchased an external Microphone:
ATR-3350-Omnidirectional-Condenser-Microphone (ON AMAZON)
Now what I want to do is record on the android using the above listed Microphone. Does anyone know if I need a 3.5MM TRRS adapter or other kind of conversion adapter? Or perhaps a specific application to use the external Microphone?
Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
NewF
Sorry if its a stupid question but don't condenser mikes need phantom/48V?
