I pulled out 150MB so far- the golf app being 131MB of that. This was just manually removing the VZW bloat apps (Golf, Blockbuster etc.). I haven't touched any of the Sense apks yet.

I used Root Explorer and "moved" the unwanted apk's (and odex where applicable) from system/app to sdcard/bloatware.

use titanium from the market and uninstall them. much easier than doing it with root explorer.
I actually can't believe they put a 133 mb trial application on the Device, that is retarded!
Gameloft doesn't sell games in the Android Market, and they only support the device you bought it for.

I can believe it... they did the same thing on the X. VZW pre-installed Need for Speed that was over 100mb (if I remember correctly). The difference there was at least you could uninstall the apk without having root access. The fact that they put a 133mb apk on the TB and did not allow the user to uninstall it is what makes it asinine...

Any way we can push this if we don't have odin or if our phone isn't rooted?
I have tried using 'root explorer', but I can't write/copy to the necessary folder.
No you need root access to push it over. A clockwork flashable wouldn't even do you any good right now. Did you try installing it normally? I don't think it will work but its worth a try.

I highly disagree that this app is better than the stock "Music Player" app that comes with the SGS4G.
I only see better eye candy and less functionality. The stock app lets you stream audio via bluetooth, add sound effects, and customize your own EQ settings among other additional features that the MIUI app doesn't have.

Hey guys.
I had to feel what it means to have a device which is to low...
I wasn't able to play GTA 3 on it because of to low RAM...
So I tried everything and finally got a solution!
What's needed:
-root
-200-550 MB free space on your SD-Card
How to:
1st step:
Get root.
2nd step:
Go to market and search for "Swapper".
Install the app which is on the top in the picture:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Then open the app and adjust your options like this:
Of course you can adjust the size for your needings.
Then hit save and wait until the creation process has finished.
Then reboot your phone.
And there you go!
You don't have to mess around with crashs anymore! Just have fun!
Playing since hours with this and it works like a charm!

It creates a swap file or partition, in which files get loaded if the RAM is to low to keep them.
Example:
Your RAM is 500 MB big.
You load one file, in this case a map, with a size of 300 MB in it.
Then you load a second map with a size of 250 MB in it or try to.
The "oldest" gets pushed to swap to have space for the "newest".

did you delete the previous one? what I usually do is change the one in the system already is add an .bak at the end of .apk (vending.apk.bak) as to keep it there for a back up and make sure when you move over the other one make sure to correct permissions. Not sure if you tried that yet but if not, give it a go and it should do the trick.
Also when you move it over, do you have system as rewritable? (obviously you need to be rooted to so ) if you are make sure that you gave permission on the file explorer that your using. If all that fails, I can make one for you if you like.
Z
I saved original apk on my SD-card and replaced it in /system/app with the black themed one with root explorer and rebootet and fixed permissions, but always the original market opens again, though there is no apk in /system/app. cant explain that

what you do, is go in to the app ( as if you were going to uninstall it ) and then stop , clear cache, clear data, swap out the apk and reboot in recovery wipe/ clear delvic/cache and that should do the trick . happened to me once before and got it to work that way.
Z
I normally replace the apk files in the ROM prior to flash.
Had no problem with Gmail, Drive, Youtube. But try as I can, just cannot get "Talk" to work.
Since I replace apks before flashing ROMS, I cannot use the one from Jules as that require a flash and a flash of "Part 2" as well. It does work that way, but not if I replace the original talk.apk with the one from his 1st zip file or 2nd.
The one by bradman117, just refuse to work for me ... whatever way I try, including flashing it separately.
Anyone know of any other "Talk" versions available that has full functionality?
Thanks

Because it was updated before you replaced it, so there's an apk (it might be called Phonesky, or Play depending) in data/app of the white market which overrides the one in system/app. You need to remove that one as well for the inverted app to show up.

"Two apps recently popped up on my phone and I'm not quite sure from where."
Think the easy way to tell is get Lookout Labs ad network detector (playstore).
Scan your phone, it'll tell you which apps have 'permission' to change those types of settings, found an app recently on mine that was installing a search icon on my screen and air-pushing ads. Thing was the app wasn't doing this last week, it suddenly did after an update. Sneaky *******s....
'
I haven't installed any apps that are malicious. plus I'm well aware of the Air push ads.
What's weird is that the apps don't follow normal spam apps procedures which makes me think a legit app just added them, for instance when I pick an app to install it doesn't take me to a Web browser it takes me directly to the play store.
I'm thinking it's something that Go Dev added to one of there apps

The Game center app icon is from the iPhone, which I know that Go devs wouldn't use, their good with their own icons. Might want to re-check. Are you unable to uninstall them?

Hi Everyone,
if anyone is interested, you can get both aosp google dialer and people app to work on the G3. Here's how:
1. Download the zip
2. extract the files to your phone (sd card)
3. with a root explorer, copy them over to system/
4. set proper permissions (644) on both files
5. copy these files over to system/priv-app/ from system/
6. rename LGContacts.apk to LGContacts.apk.bak (or change the extension of the file to anything)
Blacked out dialer and contacts app - thanks for the findings, @Kameirus
The blacked out Google dialer is made by Thyrus here at XDA
And not sure who did the blacked out contacts/people apk..I found it in one of my phone modding folders
Install instructions are the same as above.

U need a deodexed Google dialer app.
Just install the google dialer with proper permissions and then hide the LG phone app in your drawer. Did this a week ago cause I missed my dialer from running PA on my G2. Also OP is that the 4.4.4 dialer? Cause android police had the older dialer up when I downloaded it. Had to rip the one outta the PA G2 rom I ran on my G2.
Also I am using nova launcher an do not have to create a shortcut. Just put the icon on my home screen and it opens up just fine.
Sent from my LG-D851 using XDA Free mobile app
So does this work? I got the Google dialer installed a few weeks ago but frankly hated it, could never get it to do what I wanted. Long press a contact to edit? No go. Plus all it did was launch the LG dialer in the end. If this fully replaces the LG dialer I Amy give it another try.
Phone shortcut didn't appear in the drawer for me, but I was able to add it to the stock launcher with "Activity Launcher" from the play store.
In the app, All activities -> Google dialer -> Phone (DialtactsActivity)

would not advise to rename lg phone app, as I did and got into an endless "com.android.phone" process stop. contacts app works though but phone app does not show on stock launcher.

Any chance you got out of the infinite bootloop without having to flash the stock ROM? If you did let me know how. Thanks!

Yes, and it was a nightmare, took about 20 min. Reboot phone, and with one hand keep hiring the Ok button of the error message and with the other hand try navigating the menus one by one. Go to system /priv-app/.
Find LG phone app, lgteleservice or something like that, click it, install it, then I used room toolbox pro to convert it to user app and set permissions 644. Reboot and got out of loop. And then quickly renamed back the apk.
All the best and good luck.
This worked for me! All works good!!! I had some activities widget already on my F400s and it let me add the dialer.
Looks same as my Nexus 5 now! And finally got rid of the Korean on the stock dialer.
Happy! Thanks to the OP!
