So I flashed a new Rom today and proceeded to restore all my apps through titanium. Then I go to play Rio and I got an error saying I needed to download the app from their appstore. A little searching and it seems that amazon uses a drm and that's what is keeping us from restoring the app.
Bummer now I have to start over and get those pineapples and bananas again. Lol

I can safely say that this did not happen to me when I switched from virus rom to the newest debloated rom
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
you have to restore the amazon app store as well. i had no issues restoring my amazon apps
I'll give it another try.. I had amazon restored also. Maybe the problem was restoring data to the rio game?
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
yeah this wont happen as long as you also restore or reinstall the amazon app.
I sent a recommendation to amazon appstore on the issue several days ago.
FWIW- there is a lot of grumbling in the "free app" section of Amazon. It seems that many of their free apps are constantly asking for permissions thereby indicating a request to access users' info.

I know that you said that you cleared the cache, but did you "clear data" as well? I think this is what I did last time mine acted up.
same issue here, I never use the market to look for an app updates anymore instead I tried to use App Update Notifier and it works just fine.

Clear data then restart the phone. This has fixed every market issue I've had yet.

Used the SGS tool script to reset the market and now its working fine again. Thanks for the suggestions everyone
this happens to me all the time... idk why
Have you tried downloading a small free app from the market? You can uninstall it right after, to see if it works. Whenever I flash a new ROM and restore apps with TiBu, the market doesn't see my restored apps. But, when I download a new app, the market then recognizes my restored ones. It's worth a shot and will only take a minute.
Edit: Sorry, didn't see you found out already, you're way is probably better too. >.<
Amazons free app for today is watch dog full version. For those of you who like to keep an eye out for rouge apps. I highly recommend you download it.

Hands down, a Must have app. Get it!
Great catch, Mud! I've been using the Lite version for awhile and I've been forgetting to check out the Amazon free app of the day, so thanks for the heads up. Getting it now....

Of course I alread paid for it
<3 Amazon freebie paid apps!!
So far I've netted Plants vs. Zombies, Gaia GPS, Pac-man, Mahjong pro, and now watchdog!
Haha. Good call. I had a feeling a thread would show for this.
When I opened amazon and saw watchdog, I swear, the 'get app' button practically pushed itself.
It's days like this that make checking the daily free app of the day on amazon pay off.
Get it, people.
I look at amazon apps every day and I get the free ones even if I don't need them. Todays was a great find though

A little off topic but search appstore reminder in the forums and you'll find an app that will pop up a notification at a chosen time of what the free app is

It will have you add a payment option to your account, but the free apps are never charged to the card.
Once you've added the payment option, it won't ever ask for it again, unless you purchase a paid app.
It's Amazon's way of covering their rearends.

Yes. This is what discourages me from using Amazon App Store. So I turn on 1 click, do the purchase, and turn it back off right away. Amazon does not refund. So very high chance of accidental purchases that would not be refunded.
When I first installed the Amazon app store, I download an always free app. I didn't like it, so I uninstalled it. Now it is always in my apps list with the option to install it. Does anyone know how I can remove it? I tried searching for an answer but can't find one.

Is there a way to download without installing it?
I trust you guys and want to download it, but I really don't want to install it until I understand what it is and how to use it. I haven't figured out how to download apps without installing them yet.

Amazon works differently, while market installs apps when you click Ok, amazon downloads the app and then asks for install... You can just cancel it.
Or if you are scared then install and remove immediately after that using easy uninstaller app.

If I download the app and hit cancel, would I need to navigate to it with a file explorer like Astro and click to install it? Or, will canceling cause the app not to be saved? How is Easy Uninstaller different from the stock uninstaller, other than how you can uninstall more than one app at a time?

There really is no reason to post a comment like this, because what it says is... you don't trust us.
Fine, I'm not hurt. Really, I'm not.
You don't have to trust anyone here. But you sure seem to when receiving other advice in the numerous threads you've posted asking for our help. Now you're not so sure... Lol
Just go read about it on the market. Check how many times watchdog lite has been downloaded, and read the reviews people have posted on its market page.
And then make your own informed decision.
Is it safe to remove the demo games and other rubbish using titanium backup? I get a warning about might having to reinstall the ROM, what's the chances of this happening?
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA Premium App
Its perfectly fine, but back up allthe apps you delete and maybe even do a backup from CWM just incase. Be warned though removing something that requires another can cause sh*t to go wrong, for instance Samsung bloatware is safe, Google maps, places, yellow pages, all that jazz is safe... others that seem to be system oriented, other than the blatantly obvious PHONE AND MESSAGING OR FILE EXPLORE shouldn't be removed, the rest should be safe, nothing that'll destroy your phone, and if it does, that's why you made a backup

Backup up apps is no problem, but when it's time to restore, is there any way to have it auto-restore everything? The way I did it now was I started the batch restore, but had to press install-done over and over again for each app. Is there any easier way to auto-restore?

Did you purchase program? also if you did you need to download the purchase before running if you wiped data
I'm using the free version from the market. I'm guessing the auto-restore a feature of the paid version?

done. syncing w/ dropbox now
Can also consider app2zip
It creates a flash able zip file of all your apps, no data though
Do you run any risk restoring apps and data or are you better off restoring just the apps? I thought I read somewhere it can get buggy restoring the data

If it's just app data, usually no problem
The problem is restoring system data
I like to be safe so that's why I opt for app2zip
I use Go Backup. In my opinion, it's much more intuitive, cleaner, and better looking than titanium. Plus, it's free

Paid titanium gives great support. I bought it direct from dev and it's a powerhouse. Does everything and more than I need.

Buying Titanium was one of the best purchases I ever made for my devices. Well worth the price.
I love the "sync to dropbox". Didn't play around with it more to find out what else it does but that syncing makes it well worth the price.

I've flashed my phone so many times now, I don't know what I'd do without Titanium. Probably not flash, haha.
Hello,
I hope I am posting this is the right forum. When I got my nexus 7 I started buying lots of apps and games. It is now to the point where my play store purchases are almost worth as much as the nexus itself. I don't want to root but I already have many games deleted due to space. The main worry I have is if I don't root and backup and the app/game gets taken down I don't want to lose everything I have paid for. I have my backup pro however it never backed up even more then a fraction of what I own. I thought it would as it seemed to backup for non rooted devices too.
My other question is if a dev stops working on a app/game and it needs internet to verify purchase will I lose that program for good? I never have been into buying digital programs until this android device only physical copies. Thank you very much for and advice you can give me.

Tbh, i rooted my phone just to get rid all those ads. Yeah Titanium backup (the best yet) required root to backup and restore you apps.
Thanks I guess I may just do that then.

There is a version of MyBackup that doesn't require root. Though, it may not be able to backup all your apps due the lack of root access.
Use andro zip file manager to backup ur applications and it does not require root..

Yeah I have my backup pro that I bought sadly it needed root for a lot of the data. Go backup pro seems to not work with my device. I will give andro zip a try. With all these amazing sales they are having for Christmas I will have to root if that program will not work with a dropbox. Its amazing how fairly most developers price there games on android vs psn, xbox live or the eshop. I really am loving android I have more games on this then every game system I own combined.
