I just want to say your roms look pretty neat, cannot wait to flash them, but I for one am voting for No Sense!

Okay.. one for senseless
SOOO HAPPYYYYYY. I absoluetly loved your rom on the Nexus S, even though i only used it for 2 weeks. It helped my battery life slightly(and Nexus S battery life is **** imo). Well ive been usig my aunts Tbolt every now and then and battery lifes bad but meh phones great. Anyways I personally want a OC kernel in your rom, i love how you colored little things like the stock keyboards accent colors (i used it more then swiftkey because it was so nice looking) but i would like more color choses (purple and green (=) And i would have to vote for Sense i like sense. But alot of people like sense and a lot dont like it so if possible make two versions but make sense version first lol (- much love and respect to you and your creations (=
I enjoyed the galaxy S roms you made aswell as the nexus s roms
make a sense rom and a senseless rom. i thought I didnt like sense at all but now that ive been using it i like it a lot lol

Exactly my feelings I'm torn between both. 1 of each would be great as sometimes I want straight Google but love the polish and widgets of sense so I vote for both. I follow Axura on the vibrant forums and am very excited to see you guys here!
If I do sense, it would remove a few widgets and all 'sense bloat'
It would basically just have the sense launcher

Great to see you again. Master. Axura was the best rom that I used on my Samsung Vibrant. I was thinking the other day that it would be marvelous if you would join us here, but I didn't get my hopes up. And here you are... Welcome.
I will think about some features I'd like to see on Axura TB today and report back to you. Cheers.

Rock on Big M.
Sense, I loved Axura on the vibrant but have come to like the sense UI.

AH Master! I am SOOO glad to see you here! I jumped over here after TMO gave us the dump and grabbed a TB. I used your ROMs on my Vibrant 95% of the time. Love the flying windows and battery life was awesome. Hope to see some awesome things coming from you. Welcome!
First off my friend has the captivate and I thought Axura was pretty nice.
Requested features:
1. have power control widget in notification bar like samsung phones
2. If possible, it would be nice to have the pin unlock like the iPhone, by that i mean no need to press ok, I only use 4 numbers so like the iPhone, after the 4th number is pressed, it would just unlock without having to press the OK Button
3. remove a lot of the sense but keep at least the select text, copy, and paste sense functions, also keep the sense dialer that uses t9 to search contacts
4. black themes are always good, but don't have everything just pitch black, some roms use too much black.
Hope to see a Thunderbolt Axura rom soon!
All of the above mentioned requests are good, and I agree that having senseless but with some aspects like copy/paste functionality would be nice, hopefully you can keep the overall theme that was used on Vibrant Axura, maybe an Axura/Thunderbolt unique boot anim, and of course the overall speed, stability, and smoothness of Axura which kept me coming back on the Vibrant.

Welcome to the "Energy" ROM thread !
This development thread is for my "Energy" custom firmware series for the EVO !
I build my ROMs with four main goals.
Eye candy ( I want my ROM to look great and for it to all flow together nicely)
Speed !!!
Smoothness, consistency and good aesthetics
Stability through private beta testing before public release
I preconfigure a lot of things in my ROM, because when I flash it on my phone, I want it ready to go. So, the ringtone, sms/email and other notifications to already be set. Doing it this way, makes for a nice ROM that's ready out of the box.
ROM Features
Android 2.3.5 (Gingerbread)
Based on the latest HTC Sense 3.5 leaked ROM (runnymede)
CRT Animation + blue overscroll
Enabled GPU UI rendering
Blue highlights instead of green
Deodexed, zipaligned, tweaked
Extra Quick Settings
RCMIX Tweaks
Improved SD card read ahead
Busybox + runparts, TitaniumBackup
Zipaligned
A few HTC Apps removed, like HTC Navigation and some widgets
A lot of junk removed
Stock HTC Kernel
Screenshot by pressing Power and Home
Advanced Power Menu
Updated hosts file for ad removal
A lot more stuff... check the changelog below
Fast... Stable.. and GREAT battery life with the stock HTC kernel
You can stay up to date on the status of my ROM development by "following" me on Twitter.
How to Flash this ROM:
- Root your device
- Install a custom recovery
- Install the downloaded ROM .zip found in post #3

Other than that, a pretty good daily driver I think. Let me know what bugs you find, so I know what to fix. If you'd like to be part of the permanent beta testing team, please PM me. Be prepared to know what adb does and have a dropbox account ready This is not an "early accesss" program, but a way to improve the ROM by having people actively test early builds and reporting back on issues.
Enjoy!
Looks good, gonna give this a try.

GINGERBREAD ROM
2.3.5 EI22 "Serenicity" v.3.0 [Journaled]
"Where Serenity meets Simplicity"
Featuring Launcher 7
Updated 12/27/2011 [New ThunderHawk 3.3 Base]
Updates, Important Notices, and General Information Posted Here!
Disclaimer: I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, divorce, bankruptcy, acne, etc. Please do some research if you are a first time flasher BEFORE flashing this rom. YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at me if something goes wrong with your device, I will laugh. By downloading, you agree to have read all pertinent information provided and to accept any and all responsibility subsequently.
Why Should I Use Serenicity?
Rom creation is a personal hobby of mine to maintain the greatest battery life that I can. I've scoured the forums searching for the newest and greatest tweaks, mods, etc. to include, and then carefully tested them all for battery performance. I've also made additional changes, developments, and additions all my own. As such, this rom has compiled the excellent work of many great developers into my own ideas and configurations. Contained within are many useful apps pre-installed as well as an effort to replicate my exact setup which has yielded me 0-1% battery loss per hour maximum when idle!
However, up until now, I have maintained my roms as a power-user with the LauncherPro interface. Although this is a fairly standard appearance for Android, iPhone, and some other devices, it can be a bit daunting for a phone. I know personally that some people enjoy the many apps and functionality of Android, but sometimes just want to open their phone and dial a number. Well this rom utilizes the beautiful Windows Phone 7 interface nicely brought to Android by Launcher7. This rom will be as fully featured as Phoenix, but will feature changes in an effort to tone down the complexity of Android. Keeping it Simple.

Like Zander said, Launcher 7 is the awesome MetroUI port. Currently, no major difference besides that. The fundamental features and capabilities will mostly be synchronized, but this will be a WIP to bring a new feel to the Epic.

Interesting! As a long time occasional user of launcher7, the one complaint I've never been able to let go of is its hit on battery life, but this rom seems to be all about maximizing up time.
How has it been comparing to a Launcher Pro setup?
I really like how this rom looks! I've used RandomRom before, and I have had good results. I actually have Launcher7 on my phone, so I can play around with that or MIUI, and I like them both, haha. Once this rom is available, I'm so gonna have to try it!

I only have the launcher so far, there's at least another launcher I know of. This rom currently will use Miui Music and Camera too, they have a pleasing feel.
First version is live. Try it out. Report how you feel on the interface. Make suggestions on what might go well with it.
This is supposed to be for less tech-savvy to intermediate users. Such as girlfriends or mother-in laws!

hm. I'm not even sure anymore. Every time I build a market into a rom, Google updates it back to a stock one.
I'm trying the rom, and I do like it. However, it won't let me select custom music to play. Says cannot find com.sec.android.app.myfiles. I've had this prob before, and I thought I downloaded the fix, lol, but I cannot find it haha. Otherwise, it's working wonderfully.

I might add myfiles to it. Without it, you have to put songs in a ringtone folder if you want them to show up.
Update - this thread will now host all my Rosie mods and ports
Super Smooth Rosie
Credits: hamdir for original mod on DHD & One X - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1656201
This Mod is only for deodexed ROM`s
What does this mod?
Super Smooth Launcher is a mod that locks the frame rate during page scroll in Sense launcher (Rosie.apk) and ultimately delievers a smooth and lagfree scrolling experience.
Essentially it's an optimization which forces Rosie to flatten the layers depth effect in Sense widgets, this effect is resource heavy and the reason for frame drops or stutter. Super Smooth Rosie still shows the initial 3D effect, but then makes sure you have a lagfree experience on your homescreen
Back to stock: Just insert Rosie.apk from your current ROM in system/app folder of my update.zip and flash. Nandroid is anyway recommended.

6x5 app drawer
If you are like me and have too many apps installed, page by page scrolling can just last a while, before you get to your desired app. That is the reason I made this 6x5 app drawer mod, that reduces scrolling by over 30%. It`s an old and popular classic I already pioneered on DHD. In my case 8 pages of apps are now reduced to 5
This Mod is only for deodexed ROM`s
Install: Just copy to your sd and flash in Recovery. Nandroid is as always recommended.

Super Smooth Rosie with custom background
How to apply custom background:
If you like to add your own, the apk is recoded in order to allow you to add your own app drawer background.
1. Design a jpg with 540x760 pixel and rename that to hestheone.jpg
2. Open Rosie.apk with winrar and navigate to res/hdpi folder
3. Insert your hestheone.jpg in hdpi folder and close the apk
4. Insert the apk either in the attached update.zip with the example bg in system/app folder and flash
Download Custom Rosie (see screenshot)
http://sdrv.ms/LGvTXV
Example of custom background:
You did it again, good job!
Damn you're good !!! everyday you bring something new lol
is there a way to use the sense app drawer on another launcher ? like MIUI - ya know, like the ALTDRAWER app ??
No - that`s not gonna happen, rosie needs the HTC framework.
Thanks, Im using MIUI at the moment but i miss the app drawer, ALTDRAWER is okay, but im not so keen on it and was looking for some alternative without using a different launcher....
Not to worry, I shall continue my quest to find one

I know that mod, but if you followed earlier comments from him, he even acknowledged, that`Sense 4.0 Rosie is on the right track. Anyway I can look into it and see, whether it can even further improve performance (but it`s already fairly good).

Also looking forward to your great skins for the One series
I will not publish Skins and Themes as long as m.10 files are locked. These are essential for a lot of changes and without these I would never be happy with the final result. I have a Theme and Skin ready, but decided not to launch it, since it just was not on the standard I could achieve on Milestone or DHD.
In any case Super Smooth is now ready on my One S, just needs a bit testing and I wait for confirmation from hamdir, that porting to One S is fine for him.

Senseless Energy
This is my Energy port. Gingerbread 2.3.5 Sense 3.5 with the Sense widgets and Rosie removed while maintaining the Sense apps like email, mms, sms, people etc. I made this for myself when I was putting an update together for Energy and messed up Rosie. I liked it so much I thought I would share.
Original Rom is here.
ROM Features:
Holo Launcher
Seeder
Wifi Teather
Custom Wall Papers
Sense 3.0 Lock screen
Roam only option
A2SD GUI
And much more...
Bugs:
The voice dialer hangs on some bluetooth devices.
Some of the things in the Control Panel aren't working.
*In version 1, the lock screen style changer causes bootloops, the rosie options do not work (because there is no rosie in this) the font changer is empty and the Spare parts option is unavailable. If there is a lot of interest in these features I'll see what I can do about fixing them.
*In version 2 anything rosie related doesn't work (again because there is no rosie)
*(FIXED 3/27/2013) This ROM gets texts from 9016 to let you know you have voicemail. If you text "block 9016" to 9999 you will get a text back from 9999 saying "SprintFreeMsg: Text messages from (and to) '9016' are now blocked" and that takes care of it.
*The Scene and skin options are not working in system/personalize.
*When fixing the phantom voicemail text message issue, I some how broke the weather app. All of the widgets and apps that use it still work but the weather app itself FCs when you try to access it.
Thanks to NRGZ28 for all of his awesome work with his Energy ROM and to all of the folks here at XDA who have been teaching me.
Change log:
3/27//2013 Changed the notifications wallpaper to white to see the text better. FIXED the phantom vm notification text message issue!
1/23/2013 Changed some icons in version 2 to give the status bar a more AOSP look using parts from Eclipse and CM7.

Lol. I had been thinking about doing something like this... Looks Good.
Thanks. I was also inspired by Prboy1969's SensuAOSP.

I know how much I like options and I expect others do too so I put together a second version. In version 2, I replaced Dread's control panel with the Tweaks apk that came in the original Energy ROM. I also added No-frills CPU Control and Kernel Tuner **root**
I know having both of these seems redundant but I like the simplicity of No-Frills and the functionality of Kernel Tuner. Again its about options.

Have you thought about changing out the Sense status bar for a more AOSP feeling one? I always liked the stripped Sense ROMS cause it has the awesome camera and light OS

No I hadn't thought of that. Its worth looking into. What would need to be changed to make that happen?
Edit: I found Super Status Bar in the play store. It looks pretty cool with lots of options.

Prolly just images inside the SystemUI.apk and maybe some in framework. I was just curious is all

If people take an interest in this and want that I think it would be fun. However, the thing that's so cool about this ROM is the customized UI by NRGZ28. It's hard to improve on what he's done.

I'm liking it :cyclops:
This is a great ROM. I've been using it all day today. It's so quick and responsive, and has some really good features like recent apps in the dropdown status bar, A2SD baked-in, and it has the CM look, which I like better than Sense. Well done!
Thanks. Ill upload the version I did with the more aosp looking status bar icons later tonight.
Update link for version 2 in op.
The beast is back....and now with amarullz's Aroma Installer thanks to the contribution of demkantor. This way, you can pick and choose what you want with Glorious Overdose....a Sidekick user's dream come true!
I took the liberty of updating the theme to make it more Jelly Bean-ish....and best of all....all menus are easy on the eyes. Now, I have included the stock web browser so you don't need to install it via Aroma.
Yes...the file is big. It is because of the optional apps included. Remember, you can pick and choose what you want. As always, I take no responsibility if you happen to brick your device.
I decided to roll it back to v2's base. The only changes I made was updating the apps and including build.prop tweaks and rpmmcormick's init.d scripts which he cleaned up using various sources. Exit_Only also contributued to this project.

No need to credit me, I just spend 1hr organizing 20 or so sh-script files. Didn't write a line of code, deleted a bunch of duplicate ones after merging files, then re-organized and added comments. Thanks though.
Looks good. I did like your Redux menu-theming though (trans-black matching the widgets). Any chance on porting that, plus maybe adding some color to the Settings-Menu (even blue text rather than gray makes a big difference next to the gray icons... I've seen small colored icons I like in other phones, but I hate the big colored icons I've seen in other sidekick roms). Oh, maybe you could just tint the settings icons blue so it would match the power-menu.
Anyway, the GOv2 base is as stable/bugfree as a stock KJ2, and the tweaks you added to it bring it up to date with _most_ of Sams changes, and none of the bugs. This should serve the last few users of this phone well. Only thing left to do is change how it looks. I don't expect any new tweaks to help us, unless someone wants to work on zram or something (I don't even know what that is, but it speeds up the ROM for my AdventVega JB I guess).
Thanks Ric!

Here is the weird thing about GOV v2. Once you touch the framework-res.apk, it results in the jump key bug. I did try to update the look, but figured it best to leave it alone....unless enough people want me to change it and then I'll use ay0teddy's jump key mod.

Ok, now I'm confused on this jump-key mod.... I have never used the jump-key in landscape, and it has always worked fine for me, however, I prefer PreHome anyway (thanks for finding that gem) so I changed my jump-key to a search-key simply by copying over the keyboard.kl file from Redux in to GOv2.
1) Does the jumpkey work in landscape with GOv2's untouched framework-res.apk?
2) Isn't PreHome + keyboard.kl changing the jump-key to a search-key a valid solution for everyone?

Simply put *this is the best ROM I have used on the sk4g*
I really think you should look into continuing development here, whatever you did its damn near as good as froyo gets
Surprised there are only a few posts here.... People you don't know what you're missing!

Really? I did this as a one shot deal since GOV development came to a halt.
Maybe I should just merge the neXus JB theme into this and make a Glorious Overdose v5?

and the crowds cheered....
You got it, then....this weekend will mark the end of neXus JB...and the return of Glorious Overdose. I need to do that...too many roms to manage leads to a headache.
I will use this as the base. This is actually pretty cool!

Well....seems like this is a work in progress. I just discovered that out of all the apps I selected, only the launcher was installed. Uhhhh....demkantor?

I'll be home soon and I'll have a look, glad you put this together! I'm sure it will end up being the best ROM out for the sk4g once complete!

ok.... this will take me a bit to clean up... ill be back in a bit!
I can't wait to try it out. It will be the last ROM on my SK4G before I move away to the HTC One.
You should add ezlauncher seems smooth an looks really good.
Not much customizing settings such as themes but it has a really nice app drawer with a task manager
Should give it a look over before though might not be your style

all right no promises as my phone is still... well its not a brick... but i cant flash so i might as well use it to build a house...
anyway ill have it fixed soon im sure but for now here you all go!
And although i looked over this a bunch im sure i missed some things, i can do some cleaning tomorrow and help build a much more full setup. this should boot and flash as you tell aroma to do, but if it doesnt it cant harm anything just wouldnt work, let me know if there are issues and i can fix it!
as always,
Happy Flashing!
opps, wrong download!!! give me a minute....
Edit2
Ricandroid sent me what I needed and now my phone works!
So I flashed the rom and it works.... sorta, you need to run aroma and flash the rom only, then reenter aroma and choose skip rom and flash your mods, this is far from ideal and I will fix it soon, but I need some sleep so it will have to be tomorrow, sorry guys!
sorry only had a half hour or so to work on this, im uploading now, currently the aroma package seems to work fine, allowing you to install whatever youd like. there for sure needs to be more cleaning up of this i just have the time at the moment.
@RicAndroid, feel free to add to op and use this for now if you want to get it out there, i can help you build up Glorious Overdose V5.1 if you would like as this is great but has room for improvements. a little more sweat and tears and this ROM will be super sweet!
@ everyone else, consider this a preamble to the best ROM yet for this phone, RicAndoird is on his way to bringing this phone back to life once again!
...internet is slow right now, about half an hour until upload completes....
ok took the dogs for a walk and im back with the link, here ya go!

This rom is amazing, and the aroma installer is beautiful! Thanks for the work!
