Free Rom Hosting - Thunderbolt General

Hi!
I can host roms for developers, if needed. I have an extra server with 750gb/mo bandwidth on a 100mbps line.
If you are an active XDA member, developing roms, and don't feel like using mediafire, hit me up on IRC (http://chat.andirc.net/).
zifnab

thanks for giving back to the community! awesome

Ditto.
*shameless plug*

I don't want to steal any of your thunder at all zifnab. I can assist as well if needed. I have 10gb with unlimited bandwidth. If it can be useful at all I would love to help the cause. Use zifnab first though he was the kind hearted soul that actually had the idea and posted first.

I have 3000gb BW on 320gb HD 1gigabit unmetered

Sorry to say that dedicated and house just don't go together. Though it might pass for a real dedicated server if you didn't say it was a home connection.

Oh yeah, I just got over 100 downloads over a night the first day I released a rom and that's on the ERIS forum. The eris forum is dead compared to here.

[APP] Spotify USA NEED INVITE or UK Member to sign me up!

Hi I currently reside in the USA and spotify (because of the darned record companies) has not made its way over here yet. I heard that if someone invites your or someone based in the UK or other countries where its supported signs you up you can use the service. So being that the community here on XDA is full of surprisingly generous people I thought I would give it a whack and ask to see if anyone could help me I am willing to donate via paypal if someone truly can help! THANK YOU FOR ALL REPLIES
I tried all sorts of proxy methods already and it seems as though they blocked this method....
Can you download the application from the states? I can make you an account.

well thats fine I would like to get a free trial though to start then go from there
I'm on it I'll just fill out some random name and stuff. You can change it yourself later.
Btw, i need your email. PM it to me
I am sorry, but it won't work. Maybe it'll work at first, but the free account only allows you to listen outside the allowed countries within 14 days, after that you won't be able to listen any more. And to pay for the service you need to be in an allowed country, otherwise you won't be able to pay
Yeah, you'll just have two weeks, but that's two weeks of sweet listening

Who thinks xda should join the blackout?

many popular Web sites across the net are shutting down for 1 day on January 18th in protest of the 2 bills the united states government is trying to force through Congress. These bills would give the united states government the power to shut down entire Web sites, much like China does. This could even affect xda. Think of the government shutting xda down because some newb posts a file he shouldnt, or because a leak for a device specific os post is seen as infringement.

You mean other than this
All seriousness tho... This is an informative link to some folks involved in the anti-sopa movement.
At least in America I think we've become way too complacent. It's frightening what they could do with the bill that passed, but got floored, if just *one* man changed his mind.
Not long until it hits England I reckon. Can't believe we are extraditing a 23 year old to America over piracy... sad times.
Waste of time imho. People who are against SOPA should be out there educating people. The more people understand the more influence we have. If there is a blackout for a day a lot of people will overlook it.
hi, I ve read the announce from different site... however i still wondering how xda users from outside USA can do to support the mouvement... we are a lot!
Any idea?

I second the notion. We are miles apart but the SOPA legislation is Fakd Up Bulsht. It's only a matter of time that our pathetic excuses for politicians here in europe vote for something similiar.

Thanks for the links. I've signed the petition as this not only affects those in the US.

the idea is pretty scary...it's especially disappointing seeing as we're talking about the US in this case censoring the web, while they criticise China for doing exactly that. So much for "freedom of speech"...
sort of sounds like this to me: "We gave you freedom of speech, so let us tell you how to use it."
Ay!
I believe everyone should join the black out including individuals who make it a point not to access a computer or smartphone.
I'm showing my support by using this app.
Boycott Sopa: http://goo.gl/RXtn6
it scans any product and see if it supports SOPA or not.
if it supports SOPA, I don't buy.
online petition lot of the times don't do much, but if show your support with your wallet, it hits home with these greedy corporations.
money is the only thing they understand... F'ers...
I'll be signing up when XDA goes live on the 18th.

Sending information.

First of sorry if this is in the wrong forum.
I'm on holiday at the moment and I wont be going home for about 6 months and so far I have got about 5gb of photos. I would like to email these photos or send these photos home (other side of the world 15000 kilometers away). My hotmail lacks the capacity to send such large amounts of information, so I'm just wondering what would be the best way? I'd prefer internet based but if worst comes ill just have to send a few disks home.
Maybe another email provider will allow so much data to be sent? Or any other ideas would be welcomed.
Thanks
Edit: just noticed this should be in the Q+A section. But I dont think I can move it myself. Sorry.

There are a few things I can suggest to do this.
The first is to obviously copy everything onto a DVD and mail it. Next, you can try to use an online file hosting website. You can upload all your pics there, and tell someone at home to go download them for you. However, many of those sites have a limit on how much you can upload with a free account. Try like rapidshare, and such. The best possible way in my honest opinion is to get an online backup service. Yeah, it costs money, but they are pretty damn reliable. Check out Mozy. They have 50gb of space for 5.99$ a month. You can keep it or use it for a month, then cancel.
Good luck boss!

[Wondering] Just a thought on my mind...

Playing around with my Infuse earlier today, Listening to music, watched a couple TV Shows, Texted like a beast... Then I kinda sat back and was like *le sigh* Staring at my phone. Well you see, I'm on the prepaid plan due insufficient funds coming(little white boy aint cant get a job around this town:[). Anyways I am on the $50 Unlimited GoPhone plan, and it's served it's purposed in all but one way. Data. Ahhh. the almighty Data that makes a phone go from "this is pretty cool" to "THIS IS FOTHERMUCKING AMAZING!". I scrolled upon this so called "Straight Talk" Phone service. I see here, Unlimited everything... Only $45 dollars a month... Say whaaaaa?? Read a few posts, a couple forums, browsed a blog or 2. Seems legit, Some say they terminate service if you go over said 2 gigs a month or 100mbs a day. But I say, hey. Better than getting 0gigs a month, and 0mbs a day. But here I cometh to the almighty XDA Forums, where I found home, and ask the almighty question, Should I, or Shall I not? I need some opinions people! Throw some facts at me! Anywho.... Now that I have taken your time, I shall leave and the come back and rape my F5 button. ^_^
Peace out with the grease out,
Malicious. [Don't forget it]

+1 That's what I was thinking. Idk too much about paying the phone bill, but if you are interested in unlimited data, you can still get it easy enough from ATT. Then you will have three gigs of unthrottled data, for $30 a month. Just me talking. But definitely check out that link. And everyone knows that Ctrl+R is for the win..
