Which version of android are you running?

Just a poll to see what you guys are running, I want to see if most everyone has switched to gingerbread.
I'd actually be surprised if that was the case. I'd imagine most are holding out until there's a simpler way to flash it.
I havn't had time to flash a gingerbread ROM, it is a somewhat lengthy process.
I'm still on 5.12 seren

Firefly ATM. I go back and forth between froyo roms & CM7. Waiting for mikeymikes GB rom to be released & ill probably retire my flashing career there.
C4, then C5, back to C4 until C5 has a final release.
So, technically, it's 2.2.1, 2.3.3, 2.2.1

im with Modest Mandroid...its the only reason why i have flashed to GB. you always always read if you're not sure/dont know how/cant read/cant spell/cant count/cant follow instructions/feel uncomfortable and so on so forth then dont do it!
I believe i could do it, just dont wanna risk my only phone. The froyo ROMs are so simple to do and theres plenty to choose from so that will hold me over for now
Darky10 Rc5.3 Dark Core Voodoo.
Switched back from the Inspire just to rock gb on the Cappy for a bit.

Is MikeyMike working on a 2.3 based rom?
His roms are always the best, and I'd definitely hold out for his rom if one was in the works.
The one that works!

Continuum 5 b3. Ive flashed back to all kinds of froyo roms and i flashed sense from the i9000 just to test it out. Ive flashed jvb GB roms here and there and its really not that difficult at all.

[Q] DevNull or Oxygen or blandroid on Desire S

sorry if this is in the wrong section.
So now that we've got all these ROMs under dev for the Saga, I'm looking for a close to vanilla experience as possible on my Saga (I know its weird, considering I have a nexus s for that).
I sort of want to see how this would run without all the weight on it.
which one would be the best candidate?
Do some research here mate: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1146601
found it. thanks!

hmmm... looks like none of them are very vanilla at the mo. guess I'll have to wait a few more weeks.

The most vanilla ROM that is fully working is CM7.
I have started a port of Oxygen ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1235864
It's not for daily use yet. It's still in alpha stage. I really hope that within some days/weeks we'll figure it out.

Ill be releasing a new ROM named Eclipse Mix very soon might even be today. It'll be a mix including ICS theming all ported from another ROM.

We are stuck with the stock ROM (a modified 2.2) due to the drivers not being open source. All the custom ROMs are just tweaks of the stock one and until someone reverse engineers our phone or we get a 2.3 update (both highly unlikely) you probably won't see much more development. ICS will never happen, the most we will get is 2.2 with an ICS theme

[Solved] Remove thread requested

I have been running Elite Mod and then gummy nex for over a month now I believe but now the flashing junkie inside of me is coming out and I'm urged to see what other development is going on. So what is everybody running these days? I wanna try something new for a while. I was thinking about the ICS MIUI or swamp goblins dianxin port that is similar to it, I love the MIUI look and style. I know that I will in fact end up going back to GummyNex after a while I just wanna check something else out for a bit and calm my flashing urges. Lol. So any opinions?
Edit: Flashed a couple other roms and needed around with them for a bit. Decided none could live up to Gummy so I went back. Lol. Anyways. This thread is now useless. Mods please delete.

Stable OS replacement for stock froyo?

I have been using froyo since I bought the phone. I have been resistant to replacing it with a custom ROM because that always led me down a road of instability on past phones but from what I see of ICS, it looks like a very good upgrade.
That being said, the current jelly beans upgrade still has bugs (namely gps) so I was wondering if there are any previous OS replacements of gingerbread or is that are stable and fully functional?

"gingerbread or ICS"
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using xda premium
Most stable and completely functional would be GB roms like Emancipation or Aeon.
ICS is also quite stable and functional, except for the 720 video recording being choppy, but if it is something you don't use then this could be the one for you. I would recommend cm9, uniyumaporn or remICS-ux
Sent from my sweet and buttery Infuse
most stable and smooth would be stock samsung gingerbread. but cm9 is also a very good choice(smoother than stock actually but no mhl). and gapps in ics are much improved. voice search in particular is way more usable.
I would suggest Aeon for stability.
There are still a handful of bugs on CM9 and CM10. Nothing that stops us early adopters...
if GPS were fixed JB
For stability I loved Emann. Then switched to uniporn until cm10 got GPS up and running. From my experience, as of now Scotts cm10 8/8 build with 7/26 gapps is running perfect for me. I haven't moved to the 8/10 build yet because I don't have use for the mtd partitioning as of yet. I've always had the mind set of don't change a running system. If new features come out in a later build I will definitely update to it. But right now my phone is running super smooth. With working GPS
Sent from my SGH-I997 using xda app-developers app
Don't go JB for at least a couple months. The builds are unstable and they come frequently.
I would go for Entropy CM9 as even if a new build is released you can just flash it on top with no wipe (keep your apps/settings)

Stock LB3. I use it for stability.

Best move I've EVER made.
In my opinion, it works far smoother than stock ever did for my phone. =D

Hello All,
I have been using my Froyo Inuse for a long time now, and it is now showing it's age, with more aps not working anymore as they get new versions. Can someone lead me to some instructions about how to go about upgrading from 2.2 Froyo?

Go to the development threads and seek your stable rom, stability is up to what you do with your device.
As these threads are way too similar to "best" rom threads, and they always become arguments over what rom is best/stable - This thread is closed.
