You Have to be logged into your current Verizon account...add or upgrade a line, select 1 or 2 year contract pricing.... buy through internet or over phone, they will honor price. they do say it is a glitch and will be resolved soon, so hurry!!!!!!!!!
I you are not logged in, prices are 249.99 and 319.99...
That'd be nice... I didn't qualify for any kind of upgrade till this summer so I paid full retail to upgrade early. Is this a recent online only promotion?
confused.... Isn't the TB 249.99 with a 2-yr contract from verizon? I payed 249.99. Am I getting ripped off here?
The OP probably has some sort of corporate discount.
I purchased my phone for 229 on a 1 year contract. Even with a corporate discount I thought the max was 25%, which wouldn't bring the price down that low.
Either way, the store wanted 319...ordered it online for 100 less and got free overnight shipping.
Just checked Verizons online page. When you log in and you are due an update, the price is $199 with a 2 year plan subscription.
No corporate discount here. Log into existing acct, add a line or upgrade. Select 1 or 2 yr pricing. It still shows 199.99 or 229.99... No joke here. For existing customers log in and pricing. New customers are 249.99, 319.99

I think this deal is only available to people who are still eligible for "new every two" upgrades.... I still am seeing 249.99 (new customer since january 27) please let me know if there is any way you believe I could get the additional 50 dollar discount.
This is no good all Im getting is the 2yr option, doh!!!
Here I go again...

If any of you have any questions, PM me, I will walk you through through PM, or on the phone, as some of you think I'm full of it... I bought mine on a 1 year for 229.99. No discounts, no corporate crap. Been a customer since 2003. Not used on a new every 2 option.
Again...you have to be logged into your existing account, select upgrade or add another line, select 1 or 2 year pricing tier on drop down box of list of all phones offered...select TB, it will show 199.99, 229.99
Even adding a new line to mine now still says 249 for 2yr and 319 for 1yr.. maybe its fixed

I don't think this is true. I think it's for a Corp/Work discount. I upgraded for $229.99 w/1 year agreement on 2 different lines on my account. If it was for NE2 deal, only 1 line would be that pricing.
Confused...

I bought it for 199.99 in store, it was my friend and I told him I could buy it online for the same amount but didn't want to wait and he honored it.
Just called Vzw as well and spoke to them about it. Talked to 2 different people and both said theyre uncertain how youre getting the 199 229 setup. The differences in peoples accounts probably makes the difference im sure.
I might just try a vzw authorized retailer store and see what they come up with instead of the Vzw store itself.

ahh... this thread hurts. just added a line and paid 249.99 logged in online.
I just checked your process and it still shows 249.99 on two year after toggling back and forth on years.
I just tried it on my wife's line, she is due for an upgrade, and it showed $249/$319. We also have a corporate discount.
I just went on, I have been a customer for 3 days. Even I can add a line at the prices he is telling you all about. 199 and 229. Its not rocket science

Just took home my Captivate for $275 from a corporate AT&T Wireless store. Only requirement to get EARLY activation pricing is that you haven't upgraded your line within 6 months. NO ONE said anything about this anywhere until today - have been in 4 different corp AT&T stores, and finally someone said "early upgrade = new activation + $75 = $275 for the Captivate." Deal is good UNTIL Saturday, 7/24, when the pricing goes back up to $350 (Samsung is offering $150 back-end rebate currently) + 75 for early activation.
Get it while you can! Better than AT&T's no-commitment price of $499 and even their phantom $350 pricing they said on Facebook and Twitter, but won't honor after some lucky folks got them early last week!!! Been struggling with this mess for 2 days now, just trying to get it and finally found out about this, so make sure you all aren't buying them at no-commitment pricing, that's just outrageous....
This is the first I've heard that the $200 2yr contract renewal price is temporary. I'm eligible for an updgrade next week! grr...
Where'd you see that mentioned?

Maybe AT&T noticed demand for this phone and said.. Hmmm..how do we make more money on it?
I was surprised to see 10 people lined up Sunday morning to get this phone when the store opened.

Has anyone confirmed this?
Just got off the phone with a CSR, he didn't know anything about this being a short term deal. He spent about 5 minutes looking it up, so I hope he wasn't just saying that to get me off of the phone.
Oh, and how long have they been ending their calls by saying "Thanks for being the best part of AT&T" or something like that? That's ridiculously cheesy.

I just walked into an AT&T store and was able to use the early upgrade and get the phone for the 199+75 +18 (296 with everything totaled up). You have to not have had a upgrade within the last 6 months. That's it... and be in good standing ofcourse.
I got my Captivate on Sunday for $275. I did an early upgrade this past December for a BB 9700, so I was eligible for the early upgrade (I didn't know I was at the time). I was hoping to purchase for the "$350" non-contract price last week, but the rep @ the store last Thursday said I would qualify for the early upgrade, but they weren't going to sell it to me until the 18th. $275 was cheaper than $350 just to add 7 month to my contract, so I had planned to go that way. Luckily I was since the phone went to $499. So yes, it is true.
Contract
Do you go under another 2 year contract for this price?

I'd try again, seems like it just depends on who you get. I'm trying to get my upgrade pushed forward 3 months (it will be a year since I got my Tilt 2 in October), so far I've had one CSR tell me to just walk into a store and use the upgrade off of one of my family plan's other lines, the other told me she could only make it that much earlier if I increased my plan, but that isn't going to happen lol.

I also got my Tilt 2 at the same time. Your best bet is to call CSR...just call back again and hope to get a different person if they tell you no the first time. It's a matter of getting the right person. The guy I talked to this early morning told me that it's best to call after midnight since you get the seasoned employees but you have to be premiere...if you call during the day most likely youll get a trainee

I stand corrected. I called back and specifically mentioned overriding the upgrade date, and the CSR said that I could do that. However, they would only do it if they could ship it to me, not so I could buy it in the store, and if they had any in stock.
They don't.
She put me on hold saying that she's trying to arrange something with the store closest to me... So, maybe this will work...

Weird, the first girl I got was all ready to set it to today until she read the 10 month part and told me she couldn't, she didn't seem to care where I used the upgrade at. Makes me wonder if the CSR wants the sale.

Possibly, she supposedly couldn't get in touch with the local store and asked if they could call back in 2 days when they might have stock to ship to me. Maybe I should call again.

No, problem ingrown.
Sorry for sorta hijacking the thread though. I'm thinking I may try to get this with the early upgrade fee myself.
Has anyone confirmed the price going up to $350 for an upgrade after 7/24?
Just so everyone knows, the loyalty advantage applies to this phone. I got an additional 100 off because I hadn't upgraded in 24 months (iPhone) and my bill is

Just sold my iPhone a good hefty amount Wheres the best place to get out of contract pricing? 400 isnt much, but I've heard of people getting it for 300? Anyone know where?
Also, my two year ends 02/26/2011, do I qualify for the upgrade pricing from Costco which is 79.99 or do I have to wait until that date?
Alex
Yeah, go to Costco and ask them if you qualify for the early upgrade right now. If not, wait until the 26th... its a great price. ($79) I tried yesterday but they turned me down for an early upgrade, told me to go to the corporate store, and I can get it there. Try your luck!
Would love to know where I can buy one online at a reasonable price with no service contract.
att.com don't sell them without a service contract so that is out
AT&T stores have it retailed for 399.99 without commitment. They probably need more than a few in stock to sell it to you but that's the cheapest I have seen.
Just got mine today from ATT off contract $399 seems to be the cheapest right now anywhere. Seems kinda odd that they wouldn't sell u one.

Seen eBay prices as low as $320. Could probably dip below $300 in a week. I trust eBay more than say, small obscure handset websites, because I've never had a problem bidding on a phone and getting what I wanted in a timely manner, but when it came to an actual online retailer, they would give me the run-around on shipping or send me a defective product.
sometimes http://www.wirefly.com has good deals on early upgrades.
Just got mine at BB for 324 plus tax. That was no contract price.
I got a pretty good early upgrade yesterday.
I have 2 lines, 1 shows ready for upgrade and the other addon line shows eligible on 4/24/11. Contract is up in August.
I went to a corporate store and they said 99 for the normal upgrade and 399 for the other.
I went home and called customer service and got the same story.
I then asked them what charges I would have if I cancel my account early.
They told me and after a couple of min. they gave me the retention rep.
Ended up getting 2 new Inspires, free shipping, for 79.99 each!

Att store used an early upgrade for a non data enabled line for us and it was $300 and put on the data enabled line for me, but then i gave it to my wife. THEN the data stopped working for her line and we had to call and explain because there was something that needed to be enabled on her line for the 4g phone, EVEN though att was out of the 4g cards. So we have to go back to the store to get the 4g card i was supposed to get, but going to get for her line now.
Untill i buy another one. Maybe today. But that will probably be the full 400 price. Ill check bestbuy store see if its cheaper

I just left there with my 1 year contract using the corporate discount. Got the phone for 229.00 with $35.00 activation. If I had signed up for the 2 year contract phone would have cost 199.00 with no activation fee. Also got 25% off on accessories, but I passed on those. I know the discount on accessories and pricing on the phone is probably dependent on the number of employees eligible for the corporate discount.
To play it safe I printed off the discount details before arriving at the store and they played as if they didn't even know that the phone could be discounted.

Has anyone NOT living in an LTE area managed to get it for $149 either in person or online?
What is a ZIP code I can put in that will show up as a $149 area? I want to see if I can put that in, then proceed with checkout and see if it will let me do it.
If not I may just put in a ZIP code that gives a $149 price and then take a screenshot and see if Best Buy will price match based on what it shows on there.
Maybe it'll be a bit better if you listed where you lived. Someone in your area may chime in. There are so many zip codes that's offering it. I got mine at Manhattan, NY for $149 @ AT&T store.

I got mine by calling the ATT customer service line and telling them my friend in California(91101) just called and got his for 149 and I wanted to know why I had to pay more. I called and told them I was having problems with my phone and that I had gone through all the steps Apple told me to (I have an iPhone 4) and that it didn't resolve the issue and since it was out of warranty repair wasn't an option. I then told them that a friend of mine had been allowed to upgrade early when he was having problems with his phone and since it was only a month early and I had always been a good customer, never behind on payments or anything and that I wanted to upgrade early.
They put me on hold for about 5 minutes and when they came back they said I could upgrade but with them only, so either over the phone or in person at an AT&T store because they say it is impossible to change your official upgrade date, all they do is put a note on your account stating that you have been approved for an early upgrade and retailers (like Walmart, Best Buy, etc) do not have access to those notes so you could only upgrade with AT&T. I decided to just wait because I would end up paying $50 more for the same phone to buy it from AT&T.
I did find out some good news though, with AT&T upgrades are by the month, even at retailers. So if your upgrade date is 12-29-11 you can still upgrade on December 1st at any retailer you would like. When they check your eligibility it will say you are eligible. Helpful for people with upgrade dates in the middle or end of the month, not so helpful for people like you and me whose upgrade date is at the beginning of the month anyway.

Just snagged an Active. F'n taxes brought it up to $147 but no activation fee made me feel better.
ordered a s4 and it came out to be 363 with tax and overnight shipping. Will cancel the line once I get the phone
You might want to read thru the terms you agreed to when ordering the device. If you cancel the line you used to get the phone you are subject to an early term fee and/or an equipment fee if canceled in the first 6 months. If you take advantage of the 14/30 day return period and do not return the device they can and will charge your account for the full cost of the device.

Was this the price on a month to month basis with no contract?
I'm assuming this wouldn't work for the 32gb S4 since it's more than 200 dollars.

I upgraded a line and traded an old phone in to get $100 literally one day before this sale went live. I had to call yesterday and ask for credit because why would anyone give away an old phone when you can get the same discount online without doing that. Anyways all they could do is give me $100 credit on my next bill which was nice. Overall great deal
There's super-long thread on SlickDeals about this deal. Apparently you can get 50% certain smartphones using a month-to-month option. Basically, you can get 50% the full price of the phone.
Details from the "Wiki" portion of this deal:
How to buy a non-commitment i.e. no contract device from ATT
Your best bet is going to the local store for pickup or ordering with overnight shipping. I don't think ATT is going to ship these devices on monday.
Select month-to-month.
Online
Cancel the line AFTER you get shipping confirmation and it is in route to you.
Pickup
Nothing. Cancel as soon as you get home with your device.

Canceling
Call ATT and request to cancel your line. You have 3 days to get 100% service/act fee refund. After that it is prorated or the whims of ATT. Get confirmation of canceling and the employee's ID (their email address). You will get a bill in the mail for $0 and that is it.
Call any ATT number and say "cancel" and you will get transfered to retention/cancelation department. "I would like to cancel my new line. All I wanted was the phone which is why I ordered a month to month plan."
DO NOT USE the activated SIM if you want a 100% refund i.e. don't make a 30 minute call and expect them to not charge you.
Month-to-month = you get a bill = postpaid = you need credit

how much does it come out to then? less than the FWC approach? (Fat Wad of Cash)
thats usually how i do it; cash and no info; just the device.
I'm concerned because the fine prints states only 2 yr agreement. I want to go the month to month direction just to get the phone but I feel like they will get their money from me one way or the other.

I ordered month to month, cancelled when I got home. Guy on phone confirmed no fees for cancelling. I keep the GS4. Paid $320+tax.
Quick question
If you are already an existing AT&T customer (I have the original galaxy note - still in contract), can I buy the month by month (e.g. full price)? Or do I have to add another line?
I mean I just want to buy it at full price, toss out the simcard from my gnote (cut it to be microsim) and pop it in to my new S4?
so its $320 plus tax if you go month to month and cancel? seriously?

I'm coming from the Slickdeals post. I was able to get two "month to month" phones (S4 and S4 Active) for in-store pickup. Once you get the phone, you call and cancel the service. The "month to month" is a no-contract plan. I got the S4 for $200 no contract (due to an error with the system, the store manager made the price $200 for my extra wait.)
I now have an S4 for $200 and an S4 Active for $318 no contract. I didn't have any problems when canceling the plan.
So awesome

I ordered an S4 Active last night with Month to Month under my current number that is already on contact. I paid full retail for my S4 last month and $315 including tax for the S4 Active.
I have a USPS tracking number now so all looks good.
I will either keep both or sell my least favorite. Either way a good deal.
I literally got my S4 YESTERDAY. My god
So wait, let me get this straight. As an existing ATT customer, I can order a new phone on a new plan (month to month). Then cancel the line as soon as the device ships, and I will receive the phone, but no bill? Except for the price of the device of course.
Does anybody know if this applys to the Note 2
