Its is horribe marketing move. It just shows they are pulling at strings. Name one usefull app that iOS has that we don't. Regardless of how many apps they have we have the apps. Bottomline its only good advertising to those who don't know any better.
But for people who know the market, know the devices, and know the truth its not that big of a deal.

In all honesty, I cant think of an app IOS has that we dont have on Android
However, the same exact app on IOS is a lot more refined, smoother and just
performs better than on Android.
I can't think of anything off the top of my head but i have read quite a few
android enthusiast actually admit to this.
As far as Marketing goes with this commercial, I think they did great.
With the Droid commercials, Verizon never really showed you what it can do.
It was more for the "WOW factor". Yeah, it will say
Droid Incredible by HTC has a 1ghz snapdragon processor, 8 megapixel camera with flash, HD recording but it didn't show how the phone works
The iphone commercials not only tell you what the phone has, it shows you.
Even the mytouch 4g commercials to me are better than the droid commercial.
I only like the droid commercials because they are creative but overall the iphone has a much better commercial, in my opinion.
I am sick of seeing Carly. Like i really am. I am glad they dont showcase her as much because what used to be cute is annoying.
Sprint's commercials for the Evo have never been that great to me to begin with. Although I did like the best buy evo commercials
At&t's new commercials for Atrix are pretty cool too.
In all honesty, the new iphone commercials are very similar Apple's version of Droids "idont" commercial....the very same commercial android enthusiast were
getting all hot & bothered about lmao.
And this is coming from a Windows Phone 7 fangirl(and i love hate android)...I really have no interest in IOS aside from facetime and their app store

Personally, I like the Incredible's track pad, hated the Eris' /but I can certainly function without it. when you think about it, it's a touch screen phone.. the track pad is just taking up valuable real estate.
I do love the Thunderbolt. It isn't what I hoped it would be. and I wasn't sure about the kick stand. but it looks really well built. And I'm not in a 4G area, so paying for it may not be worth it unfortunately. Hopefully they adequate the pricing so it's doable.

Ive never had that problem with the dirty trackpad. I just have really big fingers and the trackpad helps a lot. Although my next phone may be one of the 4.3"+ i was playing with an evo and everything seemed a lil bigger on the ui, so that might help me

Funny I figured Verizon would've called it a Droid at least. The trackpad really would just take up space on the already large device. it fits well on the incredible though. i had a droid x for a while and I felt like it needed a trackpad even though it was so large. there was definitely room for it on the X

Put It this way... There are justified and explainable reasons for the lack of dualcore. If you think about, Qualcomm is really the best CPU on the market, if HTC would've debuted a Dualcore Snapdragon, everyone would've disregarded the tegra and all its mobile counterparts, minus the xoom of course =)
In Addition... There are NO APPLICATIONS or Android itself is NO WHERE NEAR the use of two cores and hyper threading. This should pick up after Q3 maybe even Q4 when the "Devs and Engineers" fine tune the use of all this great hardware.
For now, the thunderbolt is the best machine. Dual Mics plus the media mics by the camera and speaker as the Droid x had make this a Beast over that chump called "Droid Bionic" garbage. 768MB Ram, Second Gen Snapdragon, Plus the dev support on this makes it insane...

Wait you are trading G2 for MT4G? WTF? are you crazy? Also NS is nothing special other than having SGX540 and SAMOLED. Far as SGX540 goes its slightly better than AMD Z460 regardless of what the Hummingbird fanboys want you to think. Far as performance goes has that POS device able to play full 720p videos yet? I just find it odd a phone that can score (via leak) 4000+ on quadrant with TrinityOC kernel can't even play video feed which says alot as synthetic score never translates in to real world performance. I mean only thing I hear people talk about when they say NS is THE update directly from Google. So? thats why we have AOSP and we get it better than official stock in month or two full working port.
Welcome to the nexus s family bro u will love it!!!

The myTouch 4G's huge advantage in RAM alone makes it a better phone than the Nexus S. With phone's like the Atrix now released (1GB RAM), the Nexus S' small 512MB RAM makes it seem ancient. I'll take the MT4G's 768.

Ya I didn't want to start Hummingbird SoC vs Snapdragon SoC war so I let that go but the fact is regardless of the synthetic benchmark the NS fanboy are so fond of MT4G is superior and no the POS SGX540 has nothing to do with it as it won't even be factor. With ext of 2GS and 768mb DDR in MT4G it will out do NS clock per clock. Far as Atrix goes yeah its using 1GB RAM but its DDR2 in this case as with higher latency with dual bandwidth is same as DDR1 as I thoroughly covered on AF forum. MT4G is better than NS regardless of what these fanboys tell you these are the same people who rely on Google for updates lol which says enough.
Mistake in two ways... Especially trading for g2...

No disrespect, but I was playing with the Nexus S at Best Buy last week and was actually laughing out loud! All I could think of was it was a re-badged Galaxy S phone (which I did own).
I also have to agree on the choice being bad, I have a Nexus One, Nexus S, and the MT4G, there are only two things I miss about the Nexus S that the MT4G doesn't have, I loved the screen, and the weight.
The MT4G has a better camera, its faster (OC'd to 1.5ghz right now), compared to the NS 1.3), the ram (even if its only a bit more).

That's because some of us actually has deep history in this fiasco that you can't even begin to comprehend. I mean when you are correct and have actual data to prove it regardless of the delusional placebo effect faced by 90% of the Hummingbird fanboys.
Then again its not your fault you properly use your phone for some girly chitchat, but some of us actually has MT4G connected to a cluster making it one of the vNodes thus able to swift and swing proc task via wifi taking the whole mobile computing to the next level.

Just to be clear she didn't indicate any of you she meant that only for me but failed in her attempt to be vague but then again I don't blame her its not actually her fault she does not understand it as normal home user like herself no need to know the technicalities as they just want it to work for whatever myspace or fing whatever she does. But for some of us its serious business as its interconnected to critical systems.
I just came from the Atrix. I thought that I would be OK running the atrix without mods(locked bootloader), but i think i went through with-drawls from CM. Motorola blows goats with their locked blootloaders. Ther stock price is down 10%
Design Gears bricked his phone, that was the final straw. I will never by a Motorola phone again
Loving it too!
Coming from Leo I have found it very similar just with more mpx and RAM/ROM
Bye physical buttons as well.
So far so good (2 days with it)
some testings have showed that browsing speed of Atrix is not faster than Inspire. Proud to own an Inspire.
I agree, it is a great phone. Had it for a week now, it was a nice upgrade from my HTC Aria.
Love this phone too. Coming from 4 years of every iPhone - finally got bored and made the jump.
At first it was like a really bad break up - thought about the iPhone 4 every single day, missed it when I would hold or caress another phone, and wanted many of the features/memories back. Now after about two months, rooting, flashing to MIUI (following weekly builds), cattleprod's Cyan04.7 Kernel, and other tweaks and mods, I'm wholeheartedly fulfilled and more ways then before. Can't imagine going back to that terrible world I was in before.
Don't get me wrong, I have an iPad 2 and wouldn't give that up for the world (or any other Android tablet) though. Apples vs oranges though.

This is the honest answer. Once you get used to a phone OS and are able to work your way around pretty much all aspects of it, it becomes boring.
The only options are to either stick with it (maybe due to there not being a better OS in your opinion, maybe due to the app market, maybe due to some kind of hope that something revolutionary will come along that can be done on your device, etc.) or to go try a new OS (Windows Phone VII and iOS still exist)
Dude the reason its so boring is cuz your not utilizing the options. Like me. If I'm at work ill pop on YouTube or a movie and Watch it to speed up the time being or even Pandora. Then on lunch breaks, ill pull out modern warfare and kill some online ass. Then when I go to my classes at 9pm,pull out quickoffice and take notes the easy way. Then email them to myself and start all over. Yell the Andy calculators help Me in my college algebra 2 class. Facebook, flash player,mp3 player, graphical calculators(which run like $100+ from TI) POINT IS....Android rules it all. If u get bored,go onto ustream and stream something live and enjoy it. Ufc or something. IPhone sucks imo, owned that trashed that. And with HTC,updates will be here in no time. Like they said SGS will keep u busy fixing it,rather than enjoying. Reason I posted this is to give example of how to enjoy ur phone, for more than mere entertainment.

+1 guys, thank's for some great (and some not-so-great, haha) responses. I know that if I hop over to another WP 7 or iOS device i will realize why I liked Android so much in the first place, just because of what it can do that they cannot.
I am on the same page, as I believe Android is the dominant mobile OS. I think it's like being married...eh.. and there is that blonde co-ed down the hall. Yeah, it could be nice, but you will always go back to the wife you married... well, maybe.

Why do you think Samsung phones oversell other Android phones? What do you think makes Galaxys more "superior" to other Android phones? I can't really find a good reason because all Android phones are really really similar.
I do love Galaxy much because of its practical UI. However, satisfaction with UI depends more on individual's taste and therefore does not make the Galaxys superior.
What do you think? Please share your thoughts.

I'm sure there's a lot more to it, but it helps that they're a really big company. I also wonder what some of the other reasons might be.
Are you basing it on Actual sales or Contract phones included?
There's the user who wants more memory, more apps, fsster data connection and is cheap enough to get hold of....that being said, that doesn't mean they're using it's best or whole potential, not to forget the 'Idiot Factor' ....a lot of them are sat on facebook or candy crush ...BUT they've got a flash, fancy, all singing and dancing phone....
I wouldn't worry about why there's so many out there...it's if we're ALL using the same phone... I'd shoot myself first
