Hi ya'll.
Just wondering, has anybody heard anything more about the rumored HTC Desire HD? I've read a lot of blog posts about it, and an apparent video leak about it.
Is it true, or am I getting my hopes up too soon?
Hell I want it though if it's true.

Yeah the apparent leaks of the device look good, hopefully HTC's London Event on 15th September will confirm our hopes otherwise I've wasted my username on nothing hehe
Haha ^^^^
I hope it's true and that it comes with Gingerbread and a 1.5Ghz< proscesor because for a brand new phone 1GHz is not enough (it is but i want more ) when they are about to release 2GHz Phones
I would love to see a better gpu and higher res screen than 1.5ghz

But if you don't see 1,5GHz you won't see a higher res screen either! The 1GHz variant doesn't support more than WVGA.

We can but dream
1GHz with Froyo is enough for me.
1GHz with froyo smells like a Desire, not a Desire HD.
I would really like to replace my Htc Hero. In my opinion the step up from hero to desire is too small. From Hero to Desire HD is better if the specs are true.
How is the move from hero to desire small? It's a jump from 528mhz to 1ghz and plus the more RAM and Rom

Lol, how exactly? Spec-wise it really is a pretty big jump.
One of the things that bug me about the sensation is the ridiculous amount of internal memory it has, i now we'll be using the sd card most of the time, but i cannot stop wondering how is htc gonna do to fit the whole filesystem on 1 gb of internal memory? i currently have an inspire 4g and even using a rom without the at&t bloatware i only have available 1.2 gb of the internal memory's 4 gb
I'm pretty sure the 1gb is just for apps. Then system stuff has its own partition, then some left over for user storage

It has 4GB internal memory, of which 1gb can be accessed by the user
I'm pretty sure it has 1gb, the evo3d has 4.
For what I know there will be 550mb free, there should be a video showing it.

The evo 3d has 1 gig of memory 3 inaccessible to the user. The g2 had the same so did the my touch 4g same as always with HTC. They always had 4 gig rom.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA Premium App
Yes, but they also have 4gb rom on the spec sheet. Or 1.x gb accessible to user. The sensation only has 1gb rom according to specs.

I honestly doubt that HTC has 1 gig rom only alone since we actually have 1 gig accessible to the user. That already makes 2. The spec sheet is wrong on that aspect every one thought that g2 had 4 gigs of space but it only had 1 usable by us.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA Premium App
You might be right but every phone on the htc site has the physical/ total memory on the spec sheet. For example the desire has 512mb accordion to spec, well that is not the free space accessible to the user. I highly doubt this is any different for the sensation.
Also a Dutch tech site wrote, after a hands on at mwc, that the free memory was 550mb with a total memory of 1gb.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA Premium App
The g2 does have a 4gig internal chip same as the sensation. But because of the way the chip is set up and way files are stacked it basically is a 2gig but read and writes faster. So there is 2gig total basically but radio and system pretty leave roughly 1 gig. No big deal though.

You can look here : http://www.htc.com/us/products/sensation4g-tmobile#tech-specs
It says : "768 MB RAM, 4 GB Internal Storage (1 GB user addressable)"
I think that 1 Go for apps (+ legal App 2 Sd) and the 8 Go microSD are widely enough.

Now that's more like it! , thanks!
Damn, moving from 16GB internal (Vibrant) to 1GB internal is going to be a pain, but I'll handle it.

But even the 16gb internal vibrant wasn't true app installable since it was 16 internal sdcard. Vibrant only truly used 2gb for apps.
That said, when I dropped my POS Vibrant for a G2, I was disappointed by only having 1.13gb internal for apps, but I've never gone above 500mb, that's roughly 170 apps which is nuts for a phone anyway. Lol, I'd rather have the 1gb of ram that everyone else its getting.

Ok, as a current Desire user I'm getting more and more tempted to switch to a Sensation (and seeing as a lot of Desire devs are jumping ship to other devices).
Anyone care to give me some reasons for making the switch? I've had my trusty Desire for over 18 months but I'm getting itchy fingers to get something new? So...
Why get a Sensation?
Thanks.
I think that's a question for you to answer. Do you see any features in the Sensation that you want that are not available in the Desire?
If yes, are these features important enough for you to decide to switch phones?
If yes, switch. If no, don't.
Sensation is a good phone, but every phone has its quirks and every opinion is relative. Take all biased reviews and suggestions with several grains of salt. Good luck!

Desire has 768mb ram right? Frankly I don't see much benefit in upgrading. The ram makes more of a difference than the dual cores IMHO.

My glacier with the same amount of ram and oc to 1.3 runs faster than my sensation.

Because it looks great. Really. With a Casemate Tough case (which are fantastic) it feels really sturdy.
I would wait until the nexus comes out before deciding, that way you won't be kick yourself later when u realize u like it better than the Sensation.
The reason I love the Sensation is because of the resolution and speed. And it works the way I want it to.

nope. Desire has 576mb
the newer htc models have 768mb.
I would upgrade, especially as you can get a Sensation XE (newer + better) with a contract for a total of:
£252!
heck of a deal, i'd say

I had the desire before I recently upgraded to the sensation. I've had the sensation for 6 weeks now.
Reasons to upgrade:
Larger screen 4.3 inches
Dual core processor
768mb of ram
1gb of app memory
Sense 3.0 interface
8 megapixel camera with dual led flash
1080p video recording
Noise canceling mic for phone calls
Up to 14.4 Mbps download speeds
Front facing camera for video calls

In my opinion, yes.
My Vibrant always ran slower than my glacier, even when both have identical cm7 setups and oc. Ram was the missing link.
My glacier with oc runs better than sensation without, even though the glacier is only a single core.
Both glacier and sensation have 768mb ram.

I upgraded to sensation because the physical buttons on my desire started to get loose and weren't responsive. Very happy with it so far, mostly notice the much bigger screen (like a pocket tablet) and sense 3.0. Build quality is very sturdy and design is beautiful/minimal, exactly what I was looking for. I would highly recommend it if you have the cash.

Totally agree but I guess at least it has some sort of front camera.
wait.
my advice is to wait if you can. The Sensation is limited. Its good for now, but with Ice cream sandwich coming soon HTC is going to put the Sensation and the Amaze in its rear view (if you are a T-mo customer). I was going to get the Amaze in march, but what is the point? Even the XE is a gimmick.
You don't want to wait for HTC to hand out the ICS upgrades either. Besides, the industry standard 1 gig RAM is not in the sensation and the internal storage is poor. There will be a phone that is up to par (with ICS) from HTC by April.
Hey, all!
Just picked up an amaze for a good price. Any users that made the jump? Is it worth it?
Thanks!
Is not that different apart camera and 1gb ram
The better jump is to go ofr the One S or X ( from sensation )

Except at least the amaze has removable battery, and expandable memory via micro sd. I might try to pick up an amaze when the one s is actually launched on t-mobile here. Hopefully once It's released the amaze will get cheaper. Amaze also has hspa+42, sensation is only hspa+ 14

actually i just made the switch from the Amaze to the Sensation, overall i love the sensation way more, the amaze has some minor hardware issues...
capacitive button bleed effect, camera flash bleed effect with dark pics, no s-off yet which means there is hardly any major development
i traded the amaze for a sensation plus $150 so it was not just for the above issues but also for the money, yes the amaze does look and feel better, but hardware specs are negligible due to rom tweaks and hardware acceleration
the only thing i miss with the amaze honestly is the battery life, and that's about it... lol
Girlfriend has an amaze, I have the sensation. Hands down I would go with the sensation.
Other than the camera the sensation is better in almost every way. Also there is no s-off on the amaze. You have to use HTC dev and kernels and radios are a pain to flash. Development is slow with the amaze also. Xboarder isnt there anymore and he was the driving force behind the amaze.
If the amaze was s-off and had some development it would be slightly better.

thanks, guys! just what i thought as well.
Hello! i am thinking to change my htc legend by a desire s, due the screen resolution and the memory dedicated to applications... my question is if a any user had problems to have few memory for applications, or if the space is enough to get all the applications you want without worrying about memory
Definitely, 1.1GB is plenty. Also the speed on the Desire S is much faster too

Get a One V man, you will feel more at home
Better screen than Desire S, better camera, ICS out of the box and bound to get more updates
For myself i would look out for a newer device, which may gets further updates!
I love my DesireS! And i will stay on it for a longer time (hopefully it will not get broken) The performance is great, there will be an update to ICS!
But that it will be. It won't even get newest Sense!

have also thought about the htc one v, because is the direct successor of the legend, however I choose the desire because front camera and its cheaper ... I do not want a large mobile phone, 3.7 is ideal, as the desire s, and I doubt very much that one htc v will receive many updates, due to weak hardware

Htc desire s
More ram(768),one v has 512
They have the same cpu and they both are single core phones
768 mb of are useful,so i think you can buy a desire s and wait for a kernel 3.0
Our sense 4 roms are better
This phone already has s-off and a lot of custom roms
A good recovery and you can overclock the phone if you want the same clock of the one v
