Welcome to xda...
1., 2. Always remove boot.bin and sbl.bin from PDA image so you should be safe from bricking
3. I think there is no possibility to backup the full rom yet.
4. To be safe from this backup your /eds partition
5. Android Debug Bridge is part of the android SDK and used to communicate with the device from PC, you can search for howto adb in xda forum to find extended info on installation and usage, also u can install the SDK, open cmd, cd to the .../tools/windows folder and type adb to get a list of all possible commands.

Hey Guys,
Last month I flashed HD's Kernel over a defect Terminal Emulator the result...a Bootloader Bricked Phone.
Sent to Service Center they have reflashed the bootloader.
Now I want to test my Terminal to avoid the brick.
How to do that?
Really nobody knows how to test a Terminal?
Maybe write something with dd command to a blank file or something else.
1. Are you 100% sure that you have put right command in terminal? Making one mistake (in of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p15) and you have bricked device.
2. Can you at least point us to this "defective" terminal app?
3. Why are you opening new thread and not using our Q & A Thread ?

Videocon A45 - Android Phone Status Bar missing and Phone keeps Restarting itself.
My Videocon A45 Android v2.3.5 Phone keeps restarting on itself....
Also, when it starts "sometimes", it shows (com.systemui process error) and asks to force close ..... i see that the status/ notification bar on top which displays your battery, connections, usb connections n all, is missing.
I have Rooted my device.
This problem started soon as i was using root uninstal software and i was backing up some apps and uninstalling them to free up some internal storage...
but i guess i have uninstalled some, which i shouldnt have...
Please tell me if you need some more information to solve this problem....
Please please help me out with this Thank You...

I think you uninstalled some system apps. May be the systemUI.apk , it is the one which is responsible for the status bar.

You should have had a backup of your systemUI else at least a nandroid backup.
It seems you don't have a Custom recovery like cwm.
Also you don't have the systemUI backup i think.
Other choices as you don't have backups-
Search for your device's CWM try to flash it & then find a custom Rom for your device and flash it.
Another way is that ask some of the members with the same device as yours for the systemUI.apk and push it into the /system/app either with the help of adb or CWM through aroma filemanager.
Please do a little search on what i am suggesting and try to learn & do as i can't post all the methods step by step in a single post.

Any methods that i know couldn't help you AFAIK.
Coz there are ways complex for you to get into right now. (such as taking logcat through adb, finding & debugging the problem)
Better try to give it in service center, and don't say that you rooted the device.
They can easily flash a fresh firmware for your device.
All the best:thumbup:

1. The service center people will directly know that the device is rooted, coz as i said my device starts up and functions normally for sometime, and i can see root apps on the menu, superSU, RootUninstaller , Titanium Backup and all... and I would like to keep it as last option to go to service center, they would take too long to solve this...
2. Do you suggest Uninstalling these root apps first....?
3. Do you suggest Unrooting my device before i take it to the service center...? coz i had read that they wont know that it was rooted then..
4. How do you take logcat through android debugging , find & debug the problem-- What do i require to do this, i mean the required softwares n all....
5. i also have the com.android.acore unexpectedly closed error... i cannot access call functions as well....
6. What are the probable causes for this problem........ ? Thank you..!

Try a data/cache wipe first & check whether it gets solved..
1. Google it as 'download adt'.
2. It can be said as adb environment. It's a part of adt.

please reply karthik....!
hey i gave it to the service center,... they fixed right away thanks....!:good:
so i managed to soft brick an hdc note 3 clone , to my surprise the boot menu that came with it was upside down (you read that right) and while the option to factory reset it was there, no button gave the OK confirmation needed .
so next option was finding a suitable rom and doing the flash which came after hours of researching where needrom.com had few to test with and found drivers somewhere but would want to leave that as a final resort since this could brick it for good
now there was another option i came across yet need the assistance of an adb geek to help me with.
i originally bricked the device by copying build.prop to build.prop.bak in system folder then edited build.prop which lead it to soft brick, now the question, is there a way to use adb to access the device and delete old build.prop, then rename .bak one to build.prop?
please bare my noobness

This forum is not about clones - there are other places on xda where there are threads specific to certain clones and you can ask there.
Actually, regardless of clone or not, this is a standard ADB question.
However, it's in the wrong forum, so I'll move it to the Android General. Some folks there should be able to help you.

hi guys,
first, i m all time thankful to these developer guys, you make mobile world so genius, yeah it was never genius,
second, something i learn and something i want to learn more is about android always, but here is my question below that is really important. i don't know if it really make sense or not but i would like to know your opinion.
question :- i see there is a way to push files into device without rooting it. is it secure? it is safe? i guess yes. than how can i push titanium backup(data only) of particular app into my device?
example : - i myself after learning lot about apk tool and all that, modded "whatsapp" successfully and which is out of this world according to me, lately i cam to know there is already one called whatsapp GB, but mine is mine. (right now i don't have rooted device so couldn't send screenshot), but what i am trying to figure out is, i can install my modded apk on my non-rooted device and can run it either, problem comes when it is about registering number, what i really thought that if i can push titanium backup of my modded whatsapp.apk (data only - taken perviously when i had rooted device) to this non rooted device via ADB, than i didn't need to root my device ever, and so for any other app that is modded by me or any developers can be executed on non rooted device.
pros - if this is possible than i guess People won't need to root device, will not loose warranties, will not loose device by bricking it, will get out of a procedure of root methods, no one will ask more about root method, soft brick, hard brick, boot loader issues and many more questions like that i guess.
there will left only one tutorial than if this is possible and it will be like this - how to use adb?(step by step : beginner to black hat).
if this is possible than what we need? proper method of how to use adb, most of people easily can learn how to use adb but most of tutorial misses some points like how to push file by changing r/w permission, and where to put new data backup or files in device like some tutorial i have seen gives only command line but people actually don't know where to put the file like /data/data and than what?
Developers and Rooted device owner will become God in fact in this case because they can lead the rest in right path.
is this possible? or am i ridiculously making no sense?
