[Q] [JPF] BluetoothSocket problem in app developing - Galaxy 3 Android Development

Hi, I've got a problem. I'm developing bluetooth app where I use BluetoothSocket. My problem is that, when I try to close BluetoothSocket (BluetoothSocket.Close() my app hangs and shows Force Close.
I've got this problem when I'm not connected too, because when I'm closing my app I try to close BluetoothSocket.
I've got JPF on my Galaxy 3, on Eclair JK1 it doesn't work too.
Some help?
Some time ago I use ported Froyo on HTC Kaiser and my app works fine on it

Pandora crashing for anyone?

I use Pandora alot but lately its been just stopping for no reason. When it crashes it crashes in a way I have to go into my process manager and kill it because it's protected and restart it. I've used Pandora since it hit the market. Anyone have suggestions or an alternative until they fix it? Btw i'm on 2.2 and I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times.
Pandora is pretty crappy on android. I've encountered the exact thing since I started using it in February.
I think you're just gonna have to wait until they get their head out of apple's ass and update the app so it functions.

I'm on 2.2 and use pandora and have never had it f/c. the only program I am trying to run on 2.2 and can't because it force closes is shapewriter (btw it is not 2.2 compatible yet)
Is the version of pandora you are using the "-1"?
also make sure that it is not installed on the memory card...I had a few fc's with programs that i put there
Pandora rarely force closes. It just stops. You can exit it, but it won't start going again until you go into a process manager and kill the service.
yeah its not foreclosing it's just stopping which is annoying because it usually waits till a song I actually want to hear pops up.
@JCopernicus Ive never had a problem with pandora until the this past weekend.
yeah i confirm this too, i usually dont even download music because i use pandora so much, but its been acting up a lot lately, once the phone sleeps it stops after a few minutes, then once i go back into it, it says acquiring connection or some bs, which is weird cuz i even tried on full wifi and it still stops...
For me on my Nexus One it crashes after about 10 songs or so. For my girlfriend on her myTouch3G it works ALL DAY LONG without crashing. Seems like its an issue with 2.1,2.2.
Yup having a problem on it too. Not sure what the deal is.
Anyone else notice Pandora sounds terrible on Froyo, even on the HQ setting?
same here. 2.2 and pandora took a ****. I use slacker radio (non membership) and it works great.

Hi, I'm using 1.5.2 beta from the market and its working ok so far. Sometimes however it does hang and causes the Dialer to force close. Only a reboot recovers from that. But I since I migrated from pbxes.org to sipsorcery, the problem hasnt happened that often.
What exactly do you experience while using sipdroid? what sip provider are you using?

I think I spoke too soon, tried using sipdroid yesterday and it started acting up on me.
The Dialer stops responding, I can't open contacts etc. Only a reboot sorts it out. As I said, I was using sipsorcery as the sip provider, so I checked the logs there, there were multiple registrations originating from my phone, but I guess every time I rebooted, sipdroid didnt get a chance to un-register them. Moreover even if I tried to exit out of sipdroid the registration stays.
I think something weird is going on. Any hints or suggestions anyone?
Please share your experiences using sipdroid on the X10

same problem on my x10a. switched back to sipdroid 1.3.x and so far so working. will report again if it crashes again.
my biggest hope is to get android ROM on x10 in the near future. really not a big fan of the SE modded crap.

worked for the last 24hrs.
actually found that if you installed 1.3.x and update to 1.5.x it still works. still need time to say if this is consistently true.

[Q] TV.COM App

I wonder if anyone can get this app to work.
I am in the UK and downloaded this app from the market(using market enabler), when I accept the terms and conditions, normally it just force closes the app.
On a handful of occasions, if it manages to get past the T&C, then it stays stuck at 0%.
Anyone got this working at all.
I am using the HTC Hero > used several 2.1 and 2.2 roms all the same errors.
Wi-fi Connection
same here in Egypt using HTC Wildfire, downloaded APK file and installed same exact symptoms as above.

Virtuous Inquisition Problems

I have two problems with this and was wondering if anyone knew how to fix it.
The first is with the stock browser. It just wont work. When I launch it, it crashes immediately.
The second one is with the lock screen camera. It says it was fixed in a previous version on the main page, but I'm still having the problem. Basically, when I slide it over to the camera, it works like the normal lock, no camera function at all.
Running Sensation 4g
Virtuous Inquisition 3.0
1.5 Sebastian FM Kernel
SuperCID
i had this problem when i first tried this rom i just redownloaded the rom a super swiped and flashed it agian and the problem was resloved idk if i just got lucky but i would suggest to try that

Ok, that seemed to get the browser to work! Thank you.
The camera works as well, but only if I don't use face lock. Pattern lock and slide lock work fine with it, face lock don't.
hmm it could be a known ics bug which would be in ics fixes or you could try reporting it to the developer on the rom thread i personaly dont use the face unlock so i havnt encountered that problem
Sadly, I'm a noob here and I can't post to the ROM thread. I don't use the camera all that much, so it's no biggie. Hopefully someone else mentions it or maybe it's a known bug.
The browser thing was bothering me though. Thanks for the help with that.
I was having the browser problem too, but resetting permissions and clearing the cache in the apps menu seemed to fix it.
All of my problems are with mobile internet (Wi-Fi is fine). I don't seem to get as good a connection as on my stock rom, and YouTube refuses to play over 3g (connection to server lost); does anyone know how I could improve this?
Speaking of problems with VI, I flashed it a couple days ago and I've ran into two problems:
1. I can't connect to the wifi hotspot anymore. My computer can connect to the network, but it wouldn't be assigned an IP address so I can't browse the net.
2. Juicedefender crashes the phone whenever it boots.
Does anyone know how to fix this? I'd be eternally grateful!
one suggestion is to uninstall jd

[Q] Google Navigation keeps force closing since update

Hi guys,
SInce updating my stock HTC One S to Android 4.1.1 and HTC 4+, I cannot get Navigation to work properly. It force closes every 10 or so seconds.
The GPS is clearly working as it does find the route immediately, and starts to navigate - but then closes!
I rely heavily on Google Nav and seeing as I just got a new refurbished phone from my network, I don't want to have to put this one in for repair as well and be phonelesss for another week +...
Is this a known problem?
Thanks as always,
TD

Have you tried clearing the app data and cache? Are you rooted? Sometimes I find a quick re-install does the trick. I'm guessing you have tried all of those, but thought I would through them out there.
Also, have you tried a different app. like Waze?
you're not alone
this is a known problem, see below

yep, it's known problem. Been using Viper 2.2.0 and nav fc in 3d mode. I put it in 2d mode as soon as I start the nav or turn screen off and use voice guidance only.
