I discovered that FROYO 2.2 B update on my Galaxy 3 I5801 has resulted in incredibly fast battery drain
But then I noticed that its just the battery indicator and not the battery itself. A restart resets the battery indicator to show correct battery level till it is messed up again specially when u make/receive a phone call!!
YELP!
this info has already been given pls read the other threads CLOSED

Hi,
one query,
normally the battery counter resets back to zero after charging, rite? (the one in the battery option inside settings which shows ..days..hours..mts..sec on battery)
mine is not resetting. it just stays the same even after charging, still showing that on battery for 3 days 12 hrs....
.
could it be due to a recent update to ICS 4.0.3?
thank you.
Lately my battery has been acting really weird. The percentage has been very off and it has been random with the numbers. I started playing a game at 23% battery and after about a little over a half hour, it was at 21% but I knew that wasn't correct because about 5 minutes later the phone died completely. For the past few days it's been giving me problems with charging as well. When I charged it, it would charge slow and then shoot up all of a sudden and when the charge wasn't done according to the percentage, the battery notification light to tell me the phone is done charging came on but my percentage was at like 75% It's driving me nuts and I don't know what to do! I read that a battery calibration is unnecessary and all you have to do is charge the battery fully and it resets the calibration but I did that and it's still giving me problems.
Mines seems to be working correctly after my latest update , have you posted in the CM10 Thread ... Have you tried doing a fresh flash and see if that fixes the issue ?
My iNew V3 Battery is insanely draining. Earlier it was working fine for 3 or 4 days, then suddenly it was not charging up to 100% and discharging rapidly in few minutes. I have tried to charge more than 3 hrs but no use. its going to 1% and switching off and showing more than 30 -70% when ever I keep charging in off mode.

I have checked with re-sellers support, they have suggested that firmware update will resolve battery issue. I have updated firmware from cxq_v3_v1.0.6T02 to cxq_v3_inew_v1.0.4. after updating firmware now mobile is charging to 100% but immediately with in 1 or 2 hours, some times in few minutes its going to below 4% and switching off. some times it will charge to 100% with in 30 min.
I have checked battery with multiple battery calibrate apps and find no issue, all are showing healthy and good status. There is no Physical change in appearance/size in battery (like expanding in size). its good as new one.

Face the same thing here. Rooted mine to freeze some of the bloats but Android System is still at 91% consuming my battery. HElP
From what i understood you need to wipe the phone when updating to firmware 1.0.4 - then this problem should be resolved.
my inew v3 is on the way so i cannot tell from personal experience,
but i read on a different forum that this seems to have fixed the problem.
also, check the other thread here about how to get a THL W8 battery working (2000mAh)
hi,
Phone Model : HTC Sensation Z710e
Status : Unrooted
Since I upgrade (official upgrade) to ICS 4.0.3 my battery is having an unusual problem. Say if I charged the phone to 100% and keep it, the next morning the battery drains out to almost dead without any wi-fi,bluetooth,data connection.
I have tested some other things as well, after it is 100% charged, if i power off the phone, remove battery and put it back and power on the phone, it still drains like 4% of battery in that 1 minute. Sometimes it is more. I have checked the battery and it is in good health.
Could it be due to the OS or something? How do I fix it? Please suggest
Thanks
Charging might help

If your phone is not rooted then first drain your battery below 10% and then switch off the phone. Then charge it to 100% in the off state. Now disconnect the charger and turn on the phone. It will not bring a drastic change. So don't blame me if it doesn't work.
If you have any idea of rooting, then I would prefer clearing battery stats using clockwork mod.

Check running apps on settings - battery - (varies from versions of os settings - battery usage) From there you can see what apps eats the battery eg. Facebook eats 23% Android system eats 70% or whatever (example only dude ) Or just buy a new battery
I have done full drain and full recharged several times. I might try that clearing battery mod.
Secondly, I have already mentioned that my problem is not with battery.
Any other ideas would be appreciated
Thanks
Hi guys I have a pixel 3 and it's stuck at 92% charge on the battery icon no matter whether I unplug it I have a plugin
Now the device seems to charge properly it just doesn't update the charging icon or show the correct status in the icon I tried to re calibrate the battery using accu battery I've also tried factory resetting my device with numerous different wrong and also stock and non stock tried different dates of stock roms so that I could go back to an older as it could have been an update so I was just making sure that it wasn't causing this issue
Any advise would be greatly appreciated as it's really quite annoying to have a phone that works well but the charging icon doesn't do the correct charge so I don't know whether I'm half battery or full battery
I had the stuck battery level indicator issue on my Pixel 3. Symptoms I had noted were the stuck battery level at 34%, random shutoffs, wildly fluctuating low amperage charging values. Tried many of the fixes on the internet without much luck. Finally tried a variation of one that has worked so far. The fix for me was running the battery out and powering on till no screen activity method. The twist I added to this method is that I then got a clamp and clamped the power button into the on position and left it clamped for 24 hours. I then removed the clamp, plugged the charger in and then turned it on. To my delight, the battery level had dropped to 0% and the charging current was 1.5 amps. I am writing this just after the fix and charge level is now 60%, so hopefully it will continue working as it should. I think the fix is that the battery must be thoroughly and fully discharged, but that is just me speculating. Anyway, thanks for all the info you share and hopefully this will help someone with the same problem.
