Hi all,
I've just upgraded from an iPhone 3GS to a HTC Desire HD.
I am looking for an accessory which can charge and play music in my car via the cigarette lighter.
With my iPhone I had one that transmitted over FM frequency and was wondering if there was something similar?
I'm new to these forums and did try searching quickly with no avail.
Apologies if a similar thread has been posted previously.
Regards,
Alex
Bump! If no one is able to help me out, what is the best car charger to use? I don't want to buy a dodgy one that fries the battery. Many thanks.

you should move to htc desire hd forum section you'll get better help there

Hi Alex,
IMO, it could be better for you to purchase “HTC CC C200 Micro USB Car Charger”. It supports HTC desire and can play all music.

Hi,
I'm currently using my HTC Touch HD/Blackstone for calling ,listening to music , read the news and much more things. I tried several roms for it ,but I still think it's a slow device and can't be used as a multimedia device without getting irritated of the speed of the device.
So I thought about buying the new Ipod or a HTC Desire (maybe the HTC Desire HD). If I would buy the new Ipod ,I would only use my HTC Touch HD only for making calls and sending text messages. And use the Ipod (32GB version) to listen to music, watch movies, download apps and filming in HD.
And If I would buy the HTC Desire (HD) I would use it as a replacement for my HTC Touch HD and use as a phone and all the things I would you the Ipod for.
So now the main question is: Which one should I pick?
Sorry for my bad English
go for desire!!!!!
same as above, desire!
htcccccc .....
but i have q ... do u rly find the HD slow ? go and use HD2 its so fast it comes with 1 GHz processor so u wont find any problem with the speed thing .... leave apple ... lol apple hater here hahaha
Definetely go with the Desire HD, why have two devices when you can do it all with one?
+1 for the Desire!
You can do it all with one device and better than you would do it with the ipod. You just have to wait a little. You could always sell your Blackstone or use it as a replacement phone!
So,Desire 5-iPod 0.Go on!
Okay I guess I will buy the Desire (HD) ,but there is only 1 problem. The price: The new Ipod is 300 euro and the Desire is 420 euro (in the Netherlands) . I didn't expect the price to be so high of the desire ,because some months have past since it came out. Any alternatives?
It's easy. If you want high quality games, go for the iPod. Otherwise, if you don't want to play at all, go for the Desire.
Apple has a lot of great apps, so if you're going to buy games apps and the sort, go for the iPod Touch, if you're going for them all in one (sort of a jack of all trades, so the apps games wont be as good as the iPod Touch's), get the HTC Desire.

Yeah, which is good. Apple does need some competition in the app department when it comes to phones.
does any of htc models have FM transmitter???
Literally yes, practically NO.
Of course they do. But what do u mean by practically; just the headphones jack must be connected for receiving purposes...
Sent from my HTC Desire
No, no HTC Desire model has an FM transmitter. Funny you guys don't even know the difference between a transmitter and a reciever.
Hey guys. Can anyone recommend a good fm transmitter? The one I've been using got loose. (The charger part.) I prefer wired over bt.
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda premium
on e-bay you can find whatever you need. choose a transmitter with price around 30-40$.
Maybe don't just look for the price but also for quality
I wont even take some expensive noname...maybe google for some useful tests...
Whatever you do, just don't buy one of those cheap fm transmitters for ~4-5 $ from china who look all the same. I had two of them and one didn't even work, the other one quit working after one week.
But seriously, I'd avoid using fm transmitters at all whenever possible. I tried some other devices and as the transmission is analog, it always sounds a bit slushy, even with better transmitters.

Thanks guys. But I already bought one from amazon. It's called soundfly. I highly recommend it. The quality is fantastic, considering that I stay in London(its pretty hard to get a clean frequency here). Also, it has a SD and flash disk option. It's so useful at 5pm(traffic).

Hi,
At the moment I am using a HTC Desire and I find it to be to slow and the internal storage is to small.
Can someone recommend a fast dual core phone?
I have been looking at Samsung Galaxy s2 or perhaps som 3D phone...

This. You've answered your own question.
Maybe LG optimus 2X
My wife has gotten an Atrix 4g (AT&T), which recently got a gingerbread update. It's a beast of a phone, and quite fast.
The whole idea of the "webtop" dock for it, is just ridiculous to me though, especially since it costs more than a netbook.
*edit*
also worth note, it has 16gb built in user storage and 1gb of RAM.

I loved my Desire and never thought I would leave HTC until I got my SGSII.
Man, I looooooove my phone now
Hi guys, I know I'm a little off-topic, but not that much.
I would like your opinion on weather I should get an HTC Desire for about $330 or a Milestone 2 for about $530, or even de Defy for the same $530.
I ask because the hardware specs are very similar for the three, but i Know the desire is older.
Thank you.
Thx, I Will check the spec on them...

Total thread hijack if you ask me
Samsung s2 or sensation
HTC Sensation !!! a good one.
Samsung Galaxy S2 is at the Moment the King under the Smartphones!
Or maybe you can wait a little longer for the HTC 3D EVO.
That's a really nice piece that you can feel the 3D vision without any glasses.
Cool~~~~

Sorry about that, I'll make my own thread.
As a sensation owner I would say have play with both of them ( and look through the general sections on xda), the sensations gets stupidly hot for no reason and because the antennas are in the back cover the gsm/wcdma and wifi both have death grip issues.. as far as performance I know the sgs II is the fastest and has a better more well saturated screen but if I am no mistaken also gets really hot.... thats bench marks fast but I dont see any slow down on the sensation games play perfectly and the UI with customs roms is blisteringly fast...
hard decisions for you
Oh, I see a few more people have jumped in... Still not sure what to get... I shall look around... I not to sure about the 3d... The one I looked at hurt my eyes...
Probably will keep using my desire awhile longer... Need more memory... Need to decide soon!

The Samsung Galaxy S II has the better screen, and from what I've seen it makes better pictures. Also the battery for the SGSII is better: Li-Ion 1650 mAh vs. the Li-Ion 1520 mAh from the HTC Sensation. But the differences are not that great, and the HTC Sense from the Sensation is a great UI, and if you use a custom ROM from LeeDrOiD you can get a greater experience from the Sensation.
For day-to-day usage I would get the HTC Sensation, the Phone UI is the best out there. You may find similar apps on the market that mimic the Phone UI, but it's not the same.
And until you get your new device, try a ROM that has data2EXT. This will increase your internal storage to up to 2GB. Most HTC Desire Custom ROMs have this data2EXT option. Go here -> Desire Index - Everything Desire is here!
howdy everyone,
this will be my first ever purchase of a GSM phone and it will be used on AT&T. I do not do apple, PERIOD! so iphone isnt even an option. for the last 5-6 years i have been 100% HTC, currently I am sold on HTC one X.
In my experience, samsung has HORRIBLE signal strength (my company phone is a galaxy) but i havent TOTALLY rules them out.
Any advice on the best phone to get would be appreciated. This phone will probably not be used for too much extreme testing, the main things I am looking for in this phone is
- good battery life
- good signal
- runs smoothly
- android
- LOT of community support in case of issues
thanks in adavcne guys!
cheers,
disco
ATT one x ( white ) ftw.... Great dev base and the most phenomenal phone out right now hands down.
All day + battery life
No lte in my area but with 4g (hspa) getting great speeds 7-9 mgb down 1-3 up. Lte expect double that easily.
It takes a beating ( modifying software without bricking).
Imho one x.
scribed on my clean one X

HTC One series or Xperia Ion. I'd also suggest the S3 but you dislike Samsung. I personal would go HOX.

thanks guys!
a couple questions though about the one X
- if i understand right the battery in embedded, so no pulling the batt, is that a big issue in the real world?
- it does have HSPA AND 4G or just HSPA?
- does it FOR sure have a 3.5mm audio jack?
- does it have bluetooth 3.0?
sorry if those questions seem stoopid but the htc site is a little vague.
my seconf choice i think would be the HTC vivid, would you guys still recommend oneX over vivid?
and really important, in real world, would you guys say the oneX gets good reception even in outter areas?
THANKS AGAIN VERY VERY MUCH!
cheers,
disco
Well, I'm not on att so I cannot say, but I own the T-Mobile One S. It's pretty much the same phone but smaller and pentaband.
I love this device. I was an avid Samsung usr before I bought it. It gets great signal.
The battery cannot be pulled but you can hold the power button for ten seconds to mimic a battery pull. It has a standard 3.5 headphone jack. I'm not sure about data services so wait for someone on att.
P.S. Bluetooth 4.0

Like I said¦ It's pretty much the same phone with the exception of screens and size. Get any one series (besides v) device and you'll be happy.

No, it means it can use five gsm bands. It can be used on any gsm network when unlocked. World phone =/= pentaband

Hi all, long-time lurker and user of these forums.
History includes HTC Aria, HTC HD2, Google G1, and currently HTC Vision G2.
I've been using the G2 for about a year and have loved the device, mainly the qwerty keyboard and speeds increased from the Aria. Also, pretty great selection of ROMs for the G2. My G2 currently can last two days (depending on usage) sometimes less. I like most though the removable battery.
Has anyone else upgraded from a G2 Vision to HOX? I've read some reviews, have yet to play with one in person, and I like what I see so far, except for: No micro-Sd slot? No removable battery? No volume rockers? How does this affect you during normal usage? Are there are pros/cons that I haven't read about or may have overlooked?
Thanks. If this is a repeated thread I'll try searching deeper
Edit: HTC
We have volume rockers
