[Q] LUXA2 H1-Touch aluminum mobile holder? - Desire HD Accessories

Anyone tried one of these ... http://www.luxa2.com/product_design.aspx?s=12 ... ? Looking for a sturdy desktop holder that won't move about much when you touch the phone and doesn't look like a bit of cheap tat from Fleabay. Good review here ... http://pcgamingcorner.com/wordpress/?p=2155 .... but not cheap .... http://www.expansys.com/luxa2-h1-touch-mobile-holder-iphone-4-compatible-186077/ ... though I don't mind paying that if a) it's quality and b) I can use it for several phones anyway.
Anyone here seen/tried them?

T-mobile Ameo for sale....Good for Athena project?

Hello peeps,
I am SKINT. BROKE. POOR.
My mate is also giving me his Vario 2......Now I love my Ameo, the speed and everything is great BUT....I dont think I am rich enough to own one at the moment.....
I use the hard drive....but I have a 4 GB mem stick...
I used the GPS on my motorbike....once....Worked out I need a car.
I love watching movies on this, anything I download willl play on this baby
BUT I now dont use my PSP...
I spend too much time installing Crap and finding out I will never use it......
I dont know how much this is worth, it has small mark(tiny) on keyboard at bottom and small mark above the screen on the far right where the keyboard rubs.
apart from that, its mint.
I have everything from the box: (inc box)
Charger
headset
Case thing
Spare pen
Brown leather flip case.
Also in the err...case thing:
one of those 4 in 1 adapters with USB and Svid/composit out from expansys.
An Svid cable
512 mini SD card and adapter
Screen cleaner (nicked it from blackberry)
Its obviously still on WM 5.
Its running Mytrue VGA and works pretty flawlessly.
It has TOM TOM with UK maps.
Microdrive even has some PRON on it for lucky bidder.......
This is the second one I have had from T-mobile. It is about 7 weeks old.
(my mate dropped the other one and I had to do some quick talking )
Anyone want to make me an offer?
I live in London and work in the city, I have motorbike and I can get to most places pretty quick, like Microchip. I will be well willing to travel for some cash.
I would like cash for this beast but I would consider a reasonably specced laptop as a swap.....(as long as it works, condition of laptop is not an issue.)
Anyone>?

Device that fit into pocket - Is it TC?

Hello,
I am going to buy some WM device, but I need that this device can be put into trousers poket. I dont want to take another extra bag for it. I dont know these devices much and Touch Cruise still isnt sold in our country so I hope someone here can help me.
I like all the features and tech. specs of Touch Cruise so I want to ask, is this device small enough, that can be put into jeans pocket? If not is there something else you recommend with similar parameters (Wi-fi, GPS...)?
And my second question is about touch display generaly. Is possible to run all aplications without hardware keyboard? Or with touch screen only you cant run some applications (games etc. where isnt anything you can "touch" by screen)?
Thanks for your answers
Spell
personaly i would not do it a coin or keys or something could be bad news to the screen
but imho that goes for all touchscreens iphone too
there are screen protectors but they dont help from the preasure hassert which killed many a pda screens
i have a silicon with armor glass in front for my current pda
which is himalya which is bigger then TC
i carry it in my front pocket but rarely wear jeans
Thank you for respond,
I want to put device only to the pocket (so no coins or keys or anything), but there still can be some pressure I know. Maybe put it on belt in some case will be better? I am ok with that too, just dont want to allways take another bag for smartphone.
And still can someone with touchscreen and no HW keyboard tell me how it works? You cant run programs that arent touch sreen friendly or there is some solution to these programs?
"Maybe put it on belt in some case"
well both my himalaya and wallaby came with such "leather" cases with belt clips
and my current silicone case came with that too
non of my pda's had hardware keyboard and i've been able to run anything
from remote ctnrl software, to dukenukeem3d to total commander and hp48 emulator
Thank you so it seems there wont be problem with size and SW keyboard for me (but from other topics it seems there are other problems with this device )
EDIT: It seems there are a lot of advanced users, can you help me choose:
Considering all problems, is better to buy Touch Cruise or Trinity (or somethig else with similar size, weight and functions)?

cruise. dont worry the polaris project will try to solve everything single problem out there.
Thanks I really like your passion about Polaris Project, but if I see for how long is Kaiser problem still unresolved I am a little sceptic.
On the other hand Touch Cruise wont be in our country for a month and than when I finally buy it, it will be at least another month, so maybe time will tell... but now I cant see any other option besides Trinity.
Depending on the features you need, the original Touch (Elf) is ideal for storing in your pocket. Size and shape make it very easy to get in and out. It is sturdy with small, low profile buttons. I've had issues with large button pads going bad on PDAs such as the Trinity. I'm seriously considering the Polaris now though.

The Polaris and the Elf are virtually the same size. Elf is more rounded on the edges and a little thinner, but not enough to make a difference. Elf has no HSDPA, No GPS, so choose by the specs you want, Polaris is much more phone.
The Polaris is actually 10 mm longer and 1.5mm thicker than the Elf. It's even longer than the Trinity. No doubt the Polaris is a much more powerful device. I miss 3G
I have the Hermes and although the screen isn't flush to the front like the Polaris it is a heavier and chunkier phone. It sits in my pocket fine (jeans are fine, when I'm wearing a suit I use my belt clip). I've had it 14 months and it's not got any scratches.
Thank you all, I am still waiting for Polaris, because I like all its features.
Meanwhile I was in shop to take a look on older HTC devices and I like how they looks (Touch looks small and nice . But if Polaris will look similar to Artemis I will be satisfied
I don't think you'll go wrong with the Polaris. I haven't had any problems with it at all.

Which one? - budget of £100

hi everyone,
I'm after a smartphone... i think. I have a budget of £100, but may be willing to go a little over. Obviously for this price, it would more than likely be a used unit (which i'm not fussed about).
I'm looking for a phone that can act like a pda, taking appointments and such, one that i can check my emails, surf the net and chat on msn with. It will also need to be able to connect to Wi-Fi and bluetooth. I would prefer one that could read SD or SDHC cards so i could listen to my music and watch movies (if this is possible?). I would also prefer one with a keyboard as i do write a lot of documents.
GPS is not essential, but would be a nice feature to have, as would a camera.
I have no idea about cpu speeds or memory on these things... so as long as it's able to handle the web browsing and watching movies or listening to music then it should be fine.
Models i've been looking at are the o2 xda II, xda 2i and the xda mini s. The mini S ticks a lot of the boxes, but if anyone has any better recommendations or any help at all, then it would be much appreciated as i have no idea what im looking at with these gadgets.
Hmmm, considering your budget, the HTC HERMES (TYTN not TYTN II) is still a pretty good acceptable PDA phone with QWERTY keyboard and sells for around £100 on eBay UK. I assume you do not really care about GPS capabilities?
A Universal would be also good option, and believe me you won´t find anithing better than Uni for 100 pounds
I have seen some stupidly cheap HTC Diamonds on ebay recently. Sub £150, and to be fair its worth the extra £50.
But at sub 100, I'd say Hermes if you want a keyboard, Elfiin (Original touch with double ram and rom) if you dont, or if you dont mind the bigger size and stuff, then a uni.
I might even sell you my athena for a bit more than a hundred if you want it. I have wanted rid of it for ages, but cant ever get round to putting it on ebay... (sorry for the shameless plug)

Waterproof Bike Mounted Holder For HTC Desire HD

Hi All
Found an interesting bike mount for the Desire HD. Waterproof and mount on handlebars. There is a hole to use your headphones while riding. From Play.com £14.99
http://www.play.com/Mobiles/Mobile/...-Desire-HD/Product.html?ptsl=1&ob=Price&fb=0#
Nice idea but too pricey for me. Would be great when geocaching tho
Liking this, would love to see something similar for runners.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
I found this to work well. Not the cheapest but has not dropped the phone yet or fallen off!

HTH
That looks very interesting. How exactly does it hold onto the handlebar? That is, would it be OK for off-road?
@ Steve - your link took me to a "desk-sync cable" Do you have another link
Any photos, specifically of the mount itself, would be well received
I have got a bike holder for my HTC Desire HD. It is modificated Dicota. (I bought it as a holder for my HP iPAQ, than it holds Touch PRO and now DHD)
I have got a photo, which was taken some days before, and i was photographing bike, not that holder
http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=928847&l=acbcbfb1fe&id=1680198082
And it is now waterproof
// I can take a close photo if u want. Just send me a message

Sorry madness with cut and paste. The link is http://www.buybits.com/product/9076.aspx

exactly what i was looking for
for German costumers you can get Bike Holders for the DHD here http://www.monav24.de/shop/index.php?cPath=84_86&SESS=815d0cf70b0ec016a31d561b6a314342
Anyone got any better suggestions, i bought the waterproof case/mount for my DHD and its terrible for the job. It's just a tom tom case filled with stuffings. Really bad poor quality. Regarding it's purpose to hold and protect my phone, it fails as the case is far too big and it's not waterproof as it has holes for earphones. All in all poor.
The Iphone bike mount seems all well-made and fit for purpose. Why can't someone make a proper mount for out Desire HD.
I think there are craftsmen and their own hands to make

DHD Holder
Hi,
I read back a couple of posts and I think that http://buybits.com/product/8890.aspx would do a better jobby. There are a couple about I tried mobfun but they said they had them but when I ordered they were OOS - which others have said too.
Wished I had searched here first.
But the buybits people seem to have a lot of bits and bobs that do later phones. Had a few things off them from the web and they seems to do what they say on the bag lol.
Dunno would not want a crash with any new phone - you know they would just fall apart lol

UltimateAddons Waterproof Case for HTC Desire HD (+ bike mount)
I found this:
ultimate-mobiles.co.uk/mobile-phones/htc/htc-desire-hd-accessories/bicycle-accessories/pro-bicycle-wpcase444___939.htm
or same product also for example here:
amazon.co.uk/UltimateAddons-Motorcycle-Swivel-Handlebar-Waterproof/dp/B00577AWXG/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&m=A1JCK2KMJMH29Q&s=generic&qid=1311525084&sr=1-9
Just to let you know, it is made for iPhone 4g and HTC Desire HD does not fit it properly. Seems like a quality product, but they should a) make a bigger case for Desire HD and/or devices of that size and b) stop marketing this product deceitfully.
If someone finds a proper case (or another fraudulent one), please do post here!
nice maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan

Official car holder by HTC

Hi guys,
recently bought a few car holders - they were cheap and broke after a month.
I've decided to to buy one that will survive longer and came across this:
htc.com / smartphones / accessories / htc-car/
As you can see, HTC promises this to come out this month - April.
Does anyone know anything about this holder?
Can you suggest another good, quality holder?
p.s.
I'm only interested in holders that are tailored for the phone - don't want any generic ones that change their size.
Thanks you.
My first post on xda forums and you all are already dumbfounded?
Come on guys, I need ur help
Hey, i pondered the same thing and ended ordering,
Celly FLEXIPHONE4 (cant post links yet, sorry)... in our supplier info page it said it allso works on htc desire and some nokias.
the phones are allmost same size so that explains it... allso quite cheap and nice looking. I'll inform u when i get it with pictures etc if u like...
so far best looking car holder i could find.. youtube has videos...
Thanks but I gave up on that one cause I want my phone to be with a case.
Check out Arkon products on ebay.
I use one and its lasted a year so far. Not the cheapest but decent quality and lots of different designs available to suit different mobiles.
here is a video for a car holder htc...
P.S. anyone know what is that aux/usb convertitor in the video, and if i can find one for my htc desire s??? thanks
I know this is an old thread but...
No one has mentioned Brodit car holders (eBay/Amazon/etc), they're a Swedish manufacturer. They come in two parts: the bases are specifically designed for your car, sometimes for a particular position (above the dash vents or by the A-pillar) and slot into the edges of the console mouldings; the holders screw onto the bases, are specific to your phone and come in active and passive versions - active versions have a 12V connector built in however the passive holders always allow access to the USB port.
They're not the cheapest but they're robust and secure, no suckers involved, easy to swivel (landscape/portrait). If you change your car, you get a new base part, change your phone, get a new holder. Can't recommend them highly enough. :good:
