Looking to see if anyone else is a fan of minimalism like myself. Wondering if anyone could make status bar themes in the style of something like these:

Or really anything in this gallery http://android-users.deviantart.com/gallery/ That would be awesome. These minimalistic themes are so nice.
There are quite a few threads here to remove icons from the status bar. Wirth a look. I usually remove all but the battery

Yes I am aware of those. but I'm talking about like those beautifully themes icons and status bars. they are great and wish we had some of those on the Inc!
Would love to see some myself I'm a big fan of not having widgets/icons all over my wallpapers
RRRom
Yes exactly, I just want a really clean status bar mod with icons that are beautiful. It seems for the Inc that there are really two options, either the sense status bar or the vanilla status bar. Taking a look through that gallery makes you realize the potential for other beautiful mods.
Maybe I'll have to start working on some of these themes, although I've never themed the phone before.
By status bar I believe you're referring to the dock, and that's nothing more than a simple Launcher Pro setup which doesn't require any theming. Search for Ultralinx icons if you want text dock icons.

No, I mean the status bar. With the clock/battery/notifications. I already have a simple LauncherPro setup that is minimalistic. I'm talking about theming the notification bars. I'm tired of either the sense or vanilla notification bars, that's all.
Yea I think it's called the notification bar no? Anyways I like minimal layouts over all and especially like minimal notification bars with minimal looking icons that just tell you what you need to know.

Yeah I guess it was misleading when I said status bar. Definitely looking for minimal looking icons with a clean notification bar.

That's the kind of stuff I'm looking for, but you have to pay for it and it says its CM6.0.0 compatible and also only compatible with another phone. I'm not going to pay for something that only MIGHT work on an outdated ROM. But this is definitely a step in the right direction!

Hey yall,
This may very well be a noob question, so i apologize in advance if so.
I am interested in removing a few icons from the right side of the notification bar, as seen on the home screen (as opposed to having the notification bar pulled down).
I read on the G1 forum that trying to replace these with an inconsistent set of icons (say, 100 different PNG's for each percent) yielded no success. But I just want to remove both the battery icons as well as the alarm icon.
the main reason for this removal is one, i downloaded an app from the market that has the % in an icon on the left side of the notification bar (search for 'battery indicator'; should be free) and i always have my alarm on, and check it in the application.
so my question is, is it possible to do this? If so, which files do i need to remove?
seriously? not even one reply? wow xda, im pretty saddened by this...
Bump
It would be nice to unclutter the status bar
Mostly no one has probably replied because you cant get rid of them. You could get replace the current PNGs with completely transparent ones. But then you'd just have a big blank spot between the signal status and the time.
thats what i thought i would hear. thanks for your reply

Couldn't you make the png 1 pixel by 1 pixel and transparent. THen you really couldn't tell it was missing.

I have a apk ready I can test this with real quick.
I'll report back
well, using a 1x1 transparent image did the trick with getting them to vanish, didn't break anything.
However, the 1x1 didn't seem to matter either, there is a gap, but it still looks good.

I just took the current image and made it 100% transparent.
could also replace the file with a 1x1 transparent image.
either way yields the same results.
if you still want the file, pm me and I'll link it.
+1 for the ability to get rid of some icons, the clock and battery indicator in particular.
I have trouble getting the Curvefish battery widget to update properly. Running Fresh 1.1 with MDK 1.2
Could anybody put this battery icon in the notification bar. This image is a from a Desire ROM. Don't know if it's possible. Just like that icon a lot better..

i'm having problems finding the ones you're talking about in the nexus one forums..
KSPEC Monster has that icon for battery but be warned it will change a lot on your ROM more than just themeing the icon.

you can unzip kspecs monster, extract the framework-res.apk and push it to your /system/framework. will give you the battery icon without messing with your rom....
Look for BattGrn_statBarBlkXML.zip on the Nexus one section and use Metamorph to apply it and you will get the battery Icon you want. I did so and it worked perfectly:
how do you get the % to show up though?
thanks
Unfortunately I have not found one with that.
Can someone with more expertise give any guidance on how to apply metamorphs from the nexus forums to the Evo? I thought I was doing everything right, but the battery percentage still isn't showing up...just the graphics.
The Battery portion isnt available on the EVO it would seem, it is on the Nexus one by simply using SpareParts, however there is no option for this in the SpareParts on the EVO.
BakedSnack ROM has that battery icon for the EVO. It has some other modified icons as well, but all are nice.
Be warned though that if might have side effects with whatever ROM you are running if you move the resource file, such as location bar indicator above Rosie if you are using Espresso Rosie.

Fightspit did a great battery indicator mod:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=724778
It's been ported over to many Android phones, including the Galaxy S series.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=756627
It's a great looking and handy mod, that obviates the need for a third-party app to get an accurate reading on your charge at a glance.
Nobody with the skills has bothered with the Tab yet. Which makes me sad.

That's nice, but the one I miss is the one that replaces the stock battery icon.
Call me weird, but I hate having anything but transient notices on the left side of the status bar, or anything but transient notices showing when I pull down the notification shade.

Im on a honeycomb kick right now, thanks to the omegasun's new Honeycomb Dreams theme that i slapped on top of Mikfroyo. Im a bit of a icon nut and was not happy with some of the honeycomb icons in their original colors, so i photochopped these real quick. These are all the basics, but ill take some requests if ya have something you would like. All icons have a purple/blueish hue. I have a lighter blue pack if anyone is interested. Feel free to use with any roms/themes etc. I'd be flattered.

Yes please do, after all your theme was my inspiration. feel free to use them in your theme if you'd like as well.
I actually think im going to redo the hole set and go for a more matte light blue like the notification icons in your theme. then they would look great on the matted blues theme as well.
ill work on it tonight if i have time
i already started ripping icons from some of the more popular apps so i can theme those as well. but again i dont have a ton of time for this stuff.

Nope. You add them to your home screen with better cut, desktop visualizer, or similar apps.
That way you can, for example, use handcent or go sms with a stock Android icon.
Hope this makes sense.

Just putting this out there, seeing what kind of responses I get. Im basing this entire theme off of the tablet os that was used in the movie Tron Legacy. Its during the boardroom scene at the beginning of the movie. I really wanted to bring it to life and use it myself. So I decided to create a theme for it since I know other people are tired of the extremely crappy Tron themes in the market. lol. As always please let me know your thoughts and ideas. If it will encourage more people to use it, then Ill try to add your ideas into the theme. So long as they are reasonable and go with the entire theme's style. Thanks in advance.
I will be putting this theme up for sale in the app store as soon as I get my account squared away. So keep your eyes peeled for an update to this thread.

I would love something like this. My phone currently is themed with neon blues and oranges, would love something that looks as clean as this. Not sure how in depth you're going to go with the GO launcher theme, but if you made themed icons for it that were blue and orange neon that would be beautiful. I love using GO launcher, but there are no icon sets for it besides what the themers put in their themes, and they're usually not very extensive, so i'm using adw launcher as a stand in so that my icons are fully themed too. Would love to be back on Go launcher with a clean theme in these colors
You can always use adw icons on go launcher. That's what I do.

Could you elaborate a bit? I know I could pull the .pngs out of the .apk of the icon set that I'm using and replace each icon one by one on my desktop and dock, but for the app drawer I would need to modify every single one of my app .apks. Is there a specific way that you know of that you can apply a whole icon set made for ADW to GO launcher in one simple step that I'm somehow missing? Specifically, I'm using a few icon sets made by Sonny Sekhon, as they have over 560 icons in each set, the most thorough themeing that I have seen.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using xda premium
Sorry, that was a bit succinct. No way to set all the icons unless you decompile a theme and replace the images (which I have before) or replace them one by one as you mentioned, which I do. I like go launcher so I just take the time to build to suit and download any theme and extract the images I like.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using xda premium
Hey there, ok so ill try to get some icons included for you guys. Just give me a concise list of the most important icons youd like themed. Ill be using themefactory to add them in. Ill do my best to setup a nice looking theme for them. Im currently reworking the dock icons i have on the pic above. Didnt really like how they came out. Watch out for the updates.
