I've noticed that my signal appears to be boosted when I send a text message. I would like to know if anyone else has the same thing happen!? Is it possible to use a similar concept for increasing data speeds by boosting the signal? I assume that the power is being boosted to the antenna in order to send the message then being decreased when the text has been sent. Does anyone have any information about what is going on? I've looked and haven't been able to find an answer.

Hey guys,
I've looked everywhere but I really haven't been able to find a solution to this problem. I've signed up for a service called AED alert which we have here in the Netherlands. You get a text message whenever there's a resuscitation going on near your house/work place. I've been trying to install a custom ringtone so I can keep my phone on silent except for when it's a resuscitation alert. I know you can do this with contacts with actual numbers. The problem is that AED alert doesn't have a number as it's sent from a server. All these custom sms tones are number based. Is there any way I can work around this?
thanks in advance
Mathew
I do hope the question is clear enough?
Hey guys i'm a noob to the Droid family.
I have the SGSII LTE on Rogers. i727R model.
I was wondering if there was a voicemail indicator on the phone.
Currently if someone leaves me a voicemail message i receive it in a text format.
And nowhere does it indicate i have a voicemail pending. To make matters worse i text message quite a bit and the most annoying part is that is looks like a regular text message received opposed to a VM text message.
Anyhow just wondering if i missed a setting or an app out there that can solve this problem.
Tanks in advance
Sandman,
I wish I had the answer to this one, I've got the same concern. My home and home office are half-way down a valley, and my phone occasionally loses signal completely. Inevitably, someone calls me when the phone has no signal, and I don't know until the SMS shows up.
That said, the SMS is always obvious, as it's full of (?), ..., and completely incoherent sections. For example:
"Hello Jordan it's peter-it's-shock(?) Cable calling. I got word that you-were(?) looking for i-p-addresses(?) I just received those. So I have fired over an email to Jordan not-your(?) email address. Anyway that you gave me i'm(?) hanging my head(?) mixing up a couple accounts. I think I'm not sure if you had a request for re reverse-point-church(?) one of those numbers. If you did please give us a call here XXXXXXXXXX and let us know which number yo..."
Shock cable?
reverse-point-church(?)
Anyway, if a anyone posts a solution, I'd be glad to hear it. Notifications is the one thing that this phone doesn't do as well as my old Blackberry did.

Hi there,
I own a HTC One S for about a month and realized that sometimes (mostly daily) I cannot receive any calls or call anyone. To the people who are trying to call me my number is unavailable. When trying to call someone the call ends up with a short beep and nothing happens. The only way how to avoid this is to restart the phone. The strangest thing is that this happens with good/maximal signal strength!! Do you have any idea what might cause this problem? Do you think it could be caused by the Jelly Bean update or is it some kind of hardware issue? Thanks in advance! Greetings from Prague!

If you are inder wty i would exchange phone
Unless you are rooted and the rom is causing issues, you should have no phone issues
you could first try another sim and/or call carrier and see if they show any issues with your phone
also is it in only one area
I have the T-Mobile Variant and was wondering if anyone else had this problem. I turn on the Wifi calling since my signal is low where I live at. But when I try to send out a Text message, I keep getting an error immediately that it fails to send. So I turned off wifi calling and then the text message goes thru. Weird but was wondering if there is a fix for this? I spoke to a T-Mobile rep and she couldn't figure out the problem either. I do like the Wifi calling feature but if I need to send a text message I have to turn off the wifi calling every time. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
Based on my research, it comes with the territory. I wish there was a hands off workaround.
I've had the same issue with multiple Samsung phones (Sidekick 4g, s4 and s5), I think it's just one of those little pain in the *ahem* quirks. Super annoying
What's super annoying is it works as it should (text messages through WiFi on sprint) so it has to be something T-mobile did in their implementation.
How long do you think it'll be before we see this implemented, what advancements would we need to take in order to achieve this?
We've already got enhanced phone calls over a Wi-Fi signal, so this made me wonder why can't we do the same with text messaging, maybe more-so as a booster for when your sms's are taking forever to send, then ya get a delivery booster with the aid of a trusted Wi-Fi connection.
Is it at all possible or already a work in progress, would you use it if it ever became available?
