Hi guys, im using a fuze, it has the HTC Stock Rom on it, the thing that pisses me off about it is the damn text messaging in landscape, this is what happens, i receive a text message, i want to reply, so i put it in landscape mode by sliding the screen so i can type on the keyboard, when i start typing the freakin dialer shows up and it gets in the way, is there any way to fix this. its so annoying
Simple. If you open the SMS from your mate first, so you're in the "instant-messaging-a-like" dialogue screen, THEN open the keyboard, you won't get that problem.
If you open the keyboard whilst you're still at the HOME screen, then you'll get the landscape version of the HOME screen, and typing stuff in there will automatically take you to the dialler.
The thing to remember is that if you're looking at emails, SMSs, the Weather or whatever in the tabs in the HOME screen, the application you're using is the HOME app (Manilla), so opening the keyboard up is just going to get you that landscape version of HOME with all the application tabs. It's only when you actually open up an SMS / Email etc. that you enter the appropriate application, and at that point the keyboard is "owned" by that app and opening the keyboard up will get you the landscape version of that app instead of the landscape version of HOME.
Hope that helps.
haha, well i guess i kind of worded it wrong, what i meant to say was when i get the text message a little box shows with the message, when i hit reply which is in the lower left corner it enters the messaging application once there i put the typing cursor in the text area, when i slide up the screen to use the keyboard it kicks me out of the messaging app and then takes me to the dialer. once i close the dialer then i can continue typing
Turn off the notification box. When you get a new SMS, you get a green indicator against the SMS tab on the HOME screen anyway, so it's not necessary. When you get an SMS, it'll still play a sound and give you an indicator on the top bar. This'll get round your problem.
coming from a tilt and many other windows mobile devices im very used to the way the text messaging works, i really like the pop up notification more than just a green number.
Same Problem with MDA VARIO II
I got this problem with the MDA Vario II and I still get it with the TOUCH PRO
It would be great to fix it.
I installed fuzeberry, and my text works fine in portrait mode, but when I switch to landscape mode the text i am typing turns white, in fields like setting a filepath, and it also makes the text dissapear on the bottom grey tabs, the tabs are there and I can use them but no text saying what the tab is, when it does show text it shows it in a "pile" halfway out on the field. just a black jumble that looks like a bunch of letters typed on top of themselves.
I have the same problem, even my drop down menus look that way in landscape mode making everything impossible to read. Its really annoying somebody help please
Guys, I cannot tell yo at the moment which tool to use, but you need to turn off "Smooth font edges while in landscape mode".
#Edit - Maybe Advanced Config Tool v3.*
Go to settings, system, screen, clear type.
Switch to landscape and make sure it is disabled.

Thanks a lot that worked great.
So I found the way to change the size of the text message on the screen by going into your main text message page, clicking the menu button, selecting settings, and then checking the "use the volume key" to change the text size. The issue I continue to run into is that when I shrink the text size down to where I want it, then I move out from that text message box and text others, going back into the person I shrunk the text message size down on, it is back to its original size. Is there a way to save the setting so I dont have to keep changing the size each time I go in and text?
No one is experiencing the same issues?
When a new call comes in while you are in a different screen, it shows up as an unobtrusive bubble at the top of the screen, and stays that way until the call screen is expanded. How can I go back into that mode after expanding? Additionally, is it possible to do a split screen with the call screen (for example if I want to enter numbers onto the keypad from a webpage)?
How does using Voice Input for messages work?
When I click on a contact, select the messaging icon, then select the blue microphone icon, it starts recording my message. However, I see NO way to
a) stop recording
b) sending
The AT&T guide I found online shows a 'send' menu point that is supposed to be at the bottom, but I don't see one.
Instead, the screen goes blank, (only showing 3 menu points to the rightm which when pressed only allow a language selection). And then the screen timeout kicks in and i cannot send my message. It is also NOT automatically sent after a while.
Is this broken or am I just not getting it?
