remove Start softkeys? - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Themes and Apps

I have a Start button, I don't need a softkey as well. I've searched and searched and can't figure out how to remove it.

I used "remove start softkey" as my search term
EDIT: that did it! softkeys gone, x buttons gone, and the softkey buttons expand/contract equally and allow for all text (instead of cut o.. like before)
thanks!

hit menu and reply
ya, that's what I'm doing. but am looking at something like the new message button function. haha.
I do not know why it is needed when I can just hit the message and reply from there?
IMHO, a forward button would be more useful.

shortcut..... press once and you will get it.. haha.. anyways, might be best if there is a few button right from the tab itself!!
OR just do this...
The following registry tweak adds a graphic send button above the paperclip button. It also changes the 'send' left soft key to a 'back' soft key.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila\LSK_Send_Msg
Change from 1 to 0.
OR
Just install this

nonono.. i have this already. What im trying to say is, in HTC Sence SMS Tab. There is currently a 'new message' button at top right. So I am wondering if there is anything to add a new button say 'Reply' or 'Forward' next to the current 'new message' button.. Cuz now we need to click menu, then reply or forward but we can just click new message fromt hat homescreen tab... know what I mean? ahaha...

[Q] Where is this search button?????

According to the settings to quickly access a certain app you have to press the search button and a letter. But there is no search button. I pressed the genius button and letter but nothing. so can anyone explain this?
Not sure what the manual says, but you can search for Apps (or anything else) by going to Google Search widget (make sure you have either "all" or "apps" selected in the little dropdown under "g"), and start typing the letters.
Not sure if there is any dedicated search button (unless you configure shortcut keys).
The Motorola Milestone supported this. But then it had a proper search button. Perhaps the software build accidentally left these settings in despite not having such a button on the keyboard.

I doubt this kind of things could be accidently left out. Though I might be wrong.
Sent from my myTouch_4G_Slide
That was an oversight. Manual also says you can customize lock screen like with Sensation.. Both are oversights, as un-rooted users cannot do either. I am perm rooted with S-OFF and re-mapped my Genius keys to traditional Google Search and I am able to actually use Quick Launch now..

[REQ] Mod to remap personalize button...

Please? I sooooooo want to make it useful, like Browser or Msgs.
Thumbs up for that request
Like buttons remapper ?

This would be great. This was one of the first things I did to my MT4G.
+1. You can long press on the screen to get to the Personalize menu; why have it as a button as well?
ui build.prop
i know when i had the mytouch 4g you could remap the "g" button by editing the UI/Mapkey file something like that. will try and find the thread
edit: ok found the thread, but dont know if it also possible on sensation or not....http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=836702
update: pretty sure it not the same thing since it was a hardware button the was remaped. just trying to help
I know this was done in at least one ROM on the MT4G, and there are MODS in the Desire Z / HD/ G2 forum

What, not on any of the homescreens? Long press and the Personalize menu comes up?
It's a core Android feature; they wouldn't remove it.

Nope. If I long press on a blank or empty part of any screen nothing happens. Its a UK T Mobile

Weird. What ROM you on?
Stock t mobile rom
I`ve since discovered that I can get to the personalize screen by long pressing the screen if there is an empty space for a shortcut icon. Previously all my homescreens were full so obviously I had to remove a shortcut to be able to then personalize that screen.
Sorry, my mistake but in my defence it is my first Android phone and I`m slowly finding my way around it.

If it's anything like some of the other ones...its probably press and hold Home or press Recent Apps buttons. Try that out. The capacitive buttons have been remapped alot on this phone.

Thats correct, it seems that the majority of people dont like the 3 button bar (me being in the minority of liking it)
A couple of roms have put out things that you can flash after installing to get it back, but youl just have to wait until the developer gets the time to do that, if ever.

The bottom button is not yet possible. There are only SPay. Perhaps there will be third-party software. You can go to the top. Everything is in the settings.

I hope someone is working on that
Same here. I really don't understand why Samsung did not allow us to use the "Press once" and "Double Press" on the back button! Ridiculous
Definitely need full button change options...
Downloaded an app called Button Launcher, tried to remap the second button long press to Google Pay but unsuccessful, still defaults to Samsung Pay.
