Has anyone here encounter such software?
I use to have answering machine built-in on my old 1.99$ samsung phone..and now on a 400+$ VOX I can't seem to find a program that does that.
I want it to record the messages on my memory card.
anyone?

read the Wiki ( http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Audio and call recording, answering machines ) -no answering apps for the Vox, sorry, because of the hardware limitations (no call recording capabilities).

yes ... yes there is an app available regardless of the countless threads describing why there cannot be one (cred to Menneisyys who worked on that for ages)
how the app works is you pay someone to follow you around ( a stalker is good for this purpose and costs less) then when your phone rings you simply
-Hand it to them to answer
-Give a brief detailed message to the person on the phone(get someone with a good memory, it costs more but it is worth it)
-They write down a message.
-They hand back the phone (providing you pay them enough) then hand you the message.
its as easy as that!
LOL
Your app needs a hardware addon to the phone
Hi everyone.
I need a SIP Client to make voip calls using my provider, which is Telepac (from portugal).
I have tried using Fring and it works only for the first call, after that it always terminates the call as it starts dialing (i dont know why..). Still, the call i've made i noticed that i need my cruise head phones to be able to hear/speak correctly.
So, does someone know a better application to make voip calls?
I need to be able to save my SIP configuration, username, pass and proxy, and to be able to talk without using my head phones.
Any help is appreciated.
Best regards,
MFelicio.
try Fring.. it's free..
i installed it yesterday... works good for me..
Download from here
hope it will be usefull...
Ageet's AGEPhone 2.5 worked really good on my trinity when I had it. Sound came out normally through the internal ear speaker, not the rear speaker like most apps out there, so no headphone was needed. I don't know if it supports internal speaker for the Polaris, but you could give it a try. It's really good VOIP software.

can u make voip calls using the SIP addon? If so, can you save your SIP configuration? I always have to select "Other", thus never saving a configuration

Fring has long delays and you send them your passwords in clear text!
Anybody tested Ageet's AGEPhone 2.5 on the Polaris? Can you make a phone call using the internal ear speaker (not for speaking free with the speaker on the rear side)?
Try Gizmo5
I have had good luck using Gizmo5 (www.gizmo5.com ) in the past. They are Open Source and connect to many other VoIP companies.
For just software, many years ago, I had SJphone working. ( http://www.sjlabs.com/sjp.html).
Both are FREE and good luck

I see. it works on my Touch Pro 2 so i didn't know.
Whoa, awesome find. So all that is necessary for BAS to work is that bb.zip apparently.
Edit: Looks like it's not 100% working yet according to the source thread... or at the very least you need a BES account and BES provisioning.

Download http://rapidshare.com/files/349643518/BlackBerryApplicationSuite_Professional_1.0.3.12.cab and attachment in 3rd post.
Extract the attachment on you HD2
run the SetModelId on HD2 then install BAS.
You have to run setmodelid each time when you restart you hd2
how come you didn't show anything in the video? all i saw were a bunch of icons with no interaction with them. sorry, but how do we know if it's worth installing???
I install the blackberry.cab in the zip attachment
Run the SetmodeID
then run the blackberry suite downloaded from the rapidshare link
end up with a Setup error .... cannot continue to install.

BAS = Blackberry Application Suite (this program)
BES = Blackberry Enterprise Server... as in a proper corporate account with licensing fees and all.
Most people that buy a BB independently use BIS, Blackberry Internet Service.
I installed it successfully but all it gives me is the lock screen with the option to register or view device info or exit but when I click on register nothing happens and it remains locked.
Do you think that we need to have the Blackberry Connect application along with this one, or will the BAS give you a pin and allow you to you the Blackberry Service along with the messenger?
Hey bro can you make a compatible setmodelid.dll for the acer neotouch? if you need any dll please let me know, i got everything from the acer s200 =]
one is needed for the expo as well. im a bit pissed that the setids for other devices dont work for this one.

application call tellme, you can see it here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKWjPONWl_c
to be honest though i have it installed and its not that great. even speaking slowly, clearly etc it struggles, any background noise doesnt help either so its too tempremental to be a daily user. you also need msvc1.6.20771 for it to work properly.
That kind of application only works properly in Star Trek. In our century we still need to learn how do this. Even the best applications written for PC still have a fair amount of errors and still need longish training sessions.
tell me do not work on my htc hd2 original rom 1.66 ita..
i lunch the app...but nothing happenz...
MSVC gave me a message error while installation proces..
tell me application is only for USA...cause HD2 usa version comes out with microsoft voice command and somehow the tell me application overwrites the microsoft voice command and works....i dont live in usa i am from greece so i read it from the official site of tell me application and users of HD2 of outside of USA will not work the tellme app and even MSVC wich come out only for USA version....anyway i hope to make a programm like microsoft voice command and especially speak to phone and convert it easy for sms sending text..!that will be awsome!!sorry for my english....
Not an app, but a service can do it
There are two services I know of that can transcribe and send a text to your contacts. Jott, which is a subscription service, and Dial2Do, which was free the last time I checked. You call the number and follow prompts to dictate and direct your msg. Not as slick as TellMe, but then again TellMe is not as slick as TellMe was supposed to be.
i would love to see an app similar to the voice-to-text one on the nexus one.
Vlingo can do it
Works fine on my Tilt but can't get it going on the HD2 because of the re-key map problems in 6.5.#. Search for the thread.

You are incorrect. There are a couple of applications, including voice to text, for the android platform that work quite well. I've personally used them, trust me it's more than possible.

You are quite correct - I only meant that they still have some annoying errors and I would expect at least 95% accuracy from such an application. As far as I know, this is not yet the case.

Could you let us know the names of these programs, pretty please?
I use TellMe on occasion on my HD2 and it works perfectly. It will even get the message correct with profanity but censors it. There was a great application that I used for the same thing on my old treo but it only worked for palm os phones.
Where did you find the download
for Tellme for your HD2?

Hi,
Forgive me for my poor english... So, I used to have a HTC Touch HD, where it was possible to speach to dial some number. As an exemple, I push the button of my headset, and I say "My wife Mobile" and the phone dial the phone number of my wife.
Is there some application like this on android? I'm searching for something hand free, cause I will be on bike to use it...
Many Thanks.
P.S. i have a HTC Desire, official HTC Rom.
If I'm not mistaken, this is working in froyo (2.2).
voice Dialling is also available for 2.1

I think you'll have to wait for Froyo to get that.

Hmm... I'm looking for a voice dialing application for 2.1 too over BT and I don't think there is one available at the moment.
There are a few voice dialing applications that work via the phone, but you need to use the phone to launch these to start with.
As far as a hands free environment for the car - there doesn't seem to be anything suitable.
Alas 2.1 does not support the hands free dialing over bluetooth part of the bluetooth communication stack.
This is tracked on Android issue board:

Froyo DEFINITELY works with bluetooth voice dialing. I use it every day.
No one knows when the office version comes out.

Are you saying that Froyo has Voice dialing built into the O/S. (ie, no requirement for 3rd party applications)?
Cheers
Adza
Android 2.2 (Froyo) does support bluetooth voice dial part of the protocol.
