Nicetrack - app for cell tracking - Touch Diamond2, Pure Themes and Apps

I've been searching for a long time (years) for a wm app similar to something I had on an old Nokia which let me see which cell I'm connected to, it's strength, and the capability to give cells friendly names. Also a realtime updated graph showing signal strength vs time.
At last the app "Nicetrack" works properly and someone also kindly modded it for vga resolution.
http://forum.ppcwarez.org/viewtopic.php?f=65&t=107293
The direct download link for the vga version:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=5UPD6I78
No instal needed, just dump the exe somewhere, create a shortcut in "\windows\start menu\programs" and run it.
Tested on my TD2 with wm6.1
*All credit to the Nicetrack developer and the guy who changed the source code for vga*

Fied Test inside Windows folder is the best. No one third apps...
Regards

Fieldtest.exe is useful for a quick check of cell id and signal strength (most of the other info doesn't mean anything to me) and, of course, it's a "native" app.
But Nicetrack does so much more. It's much easier to assess signal strength when you can see it as a bar which updates at 5sec intervals (default is 20sec but can be changed) rather than a number. Being able to give cells names is also vital unless you're good at remembering cell id numbers. Together with the moving history graph you can build up a nice picture of your local coverage.
If that's what you want to do... (I obviously have too much time on my hands)

The mega link has been siezed...is there somewhere else to download Nicetrack?

get the files here: http://www.ppc-welt.info/community/showthread.php?t=46338
this is the betea demo, you can only change the profile for the first cell(all others will work as default). haven't done any testing yet, but i've decided to go for an public beta test..
if you got ideas for improvements then please post it here i'm open for suggestions until the release
thanks

Hello Dutty,
Don't quite understand what this is used for, could you provide a bit more information. I downloaded and it advised it cannot find a cell, what cell is it looking for???
maybe it's only working on XDA2, the beta test just started..
it's like mini-gps for the S60, it uses the cell your mobile phone is logged into to create profiles (with volume, app to execute etc.) which will get automatically executed once you log into a cell.
miniGPS is a powerful tool to locate yourself in the GSM network. Its main goal is to perform defined actions based on your location taken from your network. It also shows the details of the network cell, to which your phone is logged in at the moment. At the current stage, due to some problems in SE firmware the program shows only cell id, but it seems to be good enough for performing events.

it's the first application on the xda that allows something like this if i'm right.
changelog:
+possiblity to execute a wav file, simply select wave file *.wav in the filedialog
+signal strength of cell visible in cell info dialog
+sending only one command at every intervall.
PUBLIC BETA 1.0
interesting software, i like it!
useful for day to day operations, leaving my GPS in my car
how much do you intend to sell it for?
This program sounds good mate.
If I understand this correctly I can basically set a profile for say the cell I would be connected to when I'm at work? so that the phone automatically goes to vibrate mode or something ?
I will give this a try when I get home.
Cheers
Neil
Great Program
Great program, worked perfectly on my XDAII in Ireland.
A couple of suggestions for future version that you might consider...
The ability to bind multiple cells to a single profile. While in my house my phone picks up 3 different cells depending on where in the house I am. If I could just have a single profile called home and then add cells to that it would be nice.
Create a Today Screen plugin to display the current profile/cell. I have software that runs in the icon bar at the top and the PP icon causes conflicts with this software.
Can't wait to see the final version of this, it's shaping up very well.
I can't get it working on my XDA 1 (AT&T A30.09 Rom) I am told no cell information available then after 60 seconds it gives an error message stating "Failed to set IoControl" if I OK that error then it throws up back up every 60 seconds when it scans.
If you want someone to test developments on the XDA1 I am more than willing to help out..
Cheers
Neil
probably it won't work on the XDA1 for now, i'll have to finish version 1.0 and then, if it's not working on XDA i'm going to find out why(are you running wm2k3 or ppc2002)
it should work on all xda2 so far it worked on all devices in the german ppc-welt community forums. can you give more informations about your device, what errors etc?
what kind of price would be ok? minigps is beeing sold for 20$ i think, but that's a little bit too much for a ppc software

yes this idea has already been suggested and i'm going to work on it tonight if i have free time!
i'll also add the ability to turn off the notifications popping up automatically.
Hi Dutty,
Hopefully you can get this working on XDA1 because its a great idea.
I'm running WM2003 on my XDA, the only error message I receive is the one posted earlier..
As i said, if you want anyone to test on XDA1 or provide any info just let me know.
Cheers
Neil
once i will release the official version, it contains logging options and stuff like that, we can go on with the xda1 testing!
in the meantime, enjoy this logfile from today
+added logging capabilities to control the network responses
+added 'assign group' dialog ( added possibility of assigning groups.. if you switch from one cell
to another and it's the same group, then there is no notify bubble displayed )
-added 'add group'
-added 'group list'
-added 'delete group'
-added 'assign group'
+added 'cell profile' dialog
-all cellprofile settings displayed there
-added group display
+redesigned cell options
-added 'Assign Group'
-added 'Cell Profile'
-removed all cell profile options
+possiblity to execute a wav file, simply select wave file *.wav in the filedialog
( alarm? possibilitiy.. now possible, that the device tells you when you have to drive slower etc.
or it could remind you with a note you've recorded that you have to do XXX once you enter your homezone )
+signal strength of cell visible in cell info dialog
+one command after init
+sending only one command at every intervall.
PUBLIC BETA 1.0 ----
notes:
if you switch to a new cell and both cell profiles got the same group then there will be no
notification (no icon AND no textbubble)
you can get the signal strength in the cell information dialog
don't enable the logfile if you don't need it, it could grow to the size of 1GB
if you disable popup notification then there will only be an icon displayed if you switch cell/group
if you're in hidden mode to get back into the options of the programm, just execute it again while it's running

Excellent idea! Seems pretty robust too for a beta. Well done.
Humble suggestion... Please see my post at

Zendrui has achieved a lot in the profile management area and perhaps you can work with him to combine the great new functionality into his product rather than re-inventing the wheel or should I say, profile ...
qtzar said : "Create a Today Screen plugin to display the current profile/cell. I have software that runs in the icon bar at the top and the PP icon causes conflicts with this software. "
Can you provide an alternative to go at the bottom right hand side of the screen, next to the BT indicator? This may be a good option for people with busy Today screens too.
I was looking at the miniGPS site. Taking the idea from them, sending SMSses from your product would be cool too. Also note you only generate alerts, actions on login. It would also be good to have the option to attibute actions / alerts to logouts.
During the beta phase can you also enable the ability for the user to update the cell info on all cells? It is very hard to test the product where you can only manipulate the first record. Suggest you change to a time based trial mechanism rather than the one record manageability option you have now. Just a humbe "consumer" opinion.
Last but not least, It would be great to be able to stop scanning for new cells but continue to detect login/logouts at the knowns (in database) cells. Example : after you train the application, you have all cells of interest in your database. In the current form the application keeps on recording all cells thats you pass through. After a month in a big city I presume I would have a huge list...
All in all, great job ! Best Regards
Installed it tonight at my xda I device, and it looks running fine.
Played a little bit and found that the tool is very interesting.
I also got some ideas to enhance the tool.
Wouldn't it be better that you can disable the Option "finding a new cell" and get instead a learning mode?
If you use the xda in your car, you get a lot of messages concernig a new cell. And all the time, all the volumes are set to 100%.
Maybe it will also be interesting to set the default values. In my case for example, the telephone volume is always much higher than the normal volume...
HTH
Stefan
PS: Would be nice, if there will be a "low cost edition" for including it into the kitchen....
i will make it opensource after i got some little profit, i'm living a hard life as a student, coding in freetime is bad, i should go working in freetime
great idea this learning mode, but it's already been implemented like this:
go into the system options, select hide popup notifications..
if it detects a cell then it won't display any popup, just an icon on the top, clicking on it will remove it. to go back into the programmoptions restart the programm
btw, if it detects a new cell it won't set any profile.. maybe i will make the default profile = no profile, it will not set anything until you've set the profile correctly!

i think logouts are not important, since there are soo many cells and you can have an own profile for each cell.. one event per cell change is enough!
sending SMS is good, but what's the use? telling somebody that you're waiting for him? okay, sounds nice but that's not that important too. maybe i will do it for 1.0, maybe for 1.1

Hi dutty. Thanks for your prompt response. Logout action is good against theft or accidentally forgetting the phone in the cab... Once the phone moves out of your regular circle of cells you get an SMS on an alternate number. This reminds me. Adding a cluster of cells into a cell family seems to be a must. Someone else mentioned this already. I now have 24 cells picked up between my home & office. In my room at the office I got 5 different cells picked up at different times... I am imagining I would create a Home family, one for Office, one for Malls etc that I frequent and then anything else would stay unknown. When you have a new unknown you would have the darg & drop option to throw it into an existing family. Setting profile (sound, alert and executable etc) by family rather than cell would be awesome as well since right now we have to do it for each & every cell. Does this make sense?
Last but not least, I tried to attach an executable to a cell and notice that the file browse box only shows me My Documents folder. How can I navigate to the Program Files folder?
Have a great weekend!!!
sadly you can't. it's a microsoft limitation...
the filedialog box only shows my documents and storage card. and i'm a student i can't invest so much time to develop a new file searching method - and i haven't got money to buy a license for those filebrowsers that search for everything.
so if you want to start programms you should have them on the storage card, but that solution is ok to me.
oh yeah here is the latest changelog, 1.0 seems finished if there won't show up any bugs or stuff like that.
Code:
+added about box
+added logo to mainscreen
+improved main screen, show more information - including groupname
+++++ added an icon to the 'today - tray' in the lower right corner, clicking it will bring up the main screen
it will add the icon once you click on 'hide' or if you've got 'auto hide' selected suggest by k_kirk
+added the ability to 'disable learning new cells' inorder to stop the programm from learning new cells
this is good if you're living in a big city and you already got all your cells in the database
enabling it will not add any cells to the database AND it will never display the 'we found a cell' popup suggested by lumpistefan
+added the ability to 'delete cell' to cell options
+changes to 'ini' file format
+redesigned icons :)
+added 'disable notification popup' inorder stop the bubble from popping up suggested by k_kirk

GNSS Internet Radio and Built in GPS

Hello,
I am new to the forum and also the owner of an HTC Fuze. I have been playing around recently with the GPS on the phone and got me thinking. I live in NY and we have a CORS network of gps base stations that are fed by the use of ntrip.
I was wondering if their was any way to use the gps signal on my phone and the connection to this CORS network to give me sub inch accuracy on my phone...then not sure what I would do with it then. But I do live on a farm and I would like to see some type of precision agricultural use.
I guess I need a way to have the GPS on the phone talk with the GNSS internet radio and then give me spot on guidance and such.
Please let me know your thoughts or if I need to explain better.
Thanks,
Clayton
bump
bump. Any ideas? Anyone
Great idea cwrisrey !
That will save the cost of a geodetic device, which is many times the cost of a Fuze. Further, it will lead the accuracy of the buildin GPS into millimum class.
Not dig into this further, would you go further to tell these:
Is that CORS data encrypted?
Is that accessible through public internet or VPN?
Is there copy right or intellectuall property right issue involved? (I don't think so, but better make it clear first)
Once again, great idea. Please do remember to update this thread once you got any progress. Thanks.
More info
Hello wg5566,
This site would probably answer alot of your questions clearer than I could:
http://www6.nysdot.gov/spiderweb/frmIndex.aspx
* Is that CORS data encrypted?
-I don't believe so, I think that it is just a form of compression, to distribute across the internet.
* Is that accessible through public internet or VPN?
Yes, the NYS CORS anyway. It accessible from the public internet (although they require you to register with them) But I believe there are other free streams. I also believe it was modeled after being able to be sent threw GPRS.
* Is there copy right or intellectuall property right issue involved? (I don't think so, but better make it clear first)
-I believe the ntrip is based on a GNU, I think the source code is available. http://igs.bkg.bund.de/index_ntrip_down.htm
Windows CE version:
http://www.ilmb.gov.bc.ca/crgb/gsr/downloads/installGNSS.CAB
Please, let me know your thoughts...
Thanks,
Clayton
My fast thoughts:
First make sure there is no satisfied freeware currently available for WM.
If so please ask a moderator to move this to the development & hackings section. And Add tyis sentence on the title: Call for developers for revolutionary GPS app!
I'm sure somebody here can develop this. You know the geodetic device was invented many years ago with very weak profiles comparing to current WM devices. The hardware on our phone should be capable to deal with these calculations, and the WM Pro platform should be capable to support such an app. Anyway it should not be a biggy for many masters here. But it is a biggy for gps users with high accuracy demand for any reason.
Edit: Did you try install that wince cab on your phone? I think some of WINCE apps can just run on WM. Please backup your data first.
Edit2: I tried to install it on my device, at first it did not show up in start menu, then I found the cab just put files and shortcut in the folder names in French. But there is no registry involved in the cab. Only three files. And then program UI itself is in English. Just run the executable from the folder will go right out of the box. So please try it. I did not try to connect & loggin yet, due to not registered account.
Edit3: Looks like the cab is only access the data from internet, convert the data format and export the data, but we still need a geodetic/gps software to process/use the data.
Disclaimer: I attatched these three files for the only purppose of exchanging software developement infomation. Anybody if download it please do not use it for any purppose other than this. Thanx.
Some thoughts on the subject
Hi All,
The idea of using NTRIP to make a Windows Mobile GPS device sub-meter accurate crossed my mind. After some research I found this thread.
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find any software capable of doing this. My idea is that it should be possible to accomplish this goal, using a combination of existing tools (which would be really cool!).
As wg5566 notes, there is a (WM) tool called GNSS Internet Radio, which is capable of downloading NTRIP corrections. It turns out this software works, but does have some flaws. Someone wrote another open source tool which is better (?), but unfortunately it isn't built for Windows Mobile (see: http://lefebure.com/software/).
More searching revealed a (dead?) project on codeplex: SharpGPS. It's an unfinished demo. It does however seem to be designed to do exactly what we're suggesting in this thread.
My idea: Completing the WM version of SharpGPS with parts of GNSS Internet radio / lefebure NTRIP client should result in a tool that's capable of upgrading a WM devices' gps signal to sub-meter accuracy through RTK/DGPS corrections over NTRIP.
Any ideas / suggestions about this?
It's already been done for the commercial market
Land surveyors, construction companies, and farmers use RTK GPS and RTK GNSS correction services on a regular basis. Some are free and some are paid subscription. They can be either NTRIP protocol with casters or individual TCP or UDP connections. Examples of software available are Carlson SurvCE and MicroSurvey. Read Carlson's support site for how they deal with the data flow using such networks on SurvCE (Windows Mobile and CE).
I have worked in land surveying using such equipment, and it generally requires dual frequency receivers, RTK corrections, and high quality antennas to achieve 1-2cm 95% CI horizontal precision. The current GPS chips in cell phones are only single frequency and so the best you could expect under ideal conditions is 2'-3' precision using some form of differential correction like WAAS or beacon or DGPS via NTRIP. Under average conditions, the precision will likely be in the 10-20' range. The dual frequency receivers take care of the large errors caused by radio waves traveling through the ionosphere.
Due to the limitations of batteries, antennas, and space for more chips in cellphones, the future of location accuracy will likely include some combination of GPS/GLONASS and cellular radio signal frequency timing calculations from cell towers. True Position, with its U-TDOA technology, is one example of measuring the time differences of cell phone radio waves using cell towers with known coordinates. Rumors (from surveying journals) have it that there are current patents in place that can allow for sub foot precision using such methods when sufficient cell towers are present for multilateration.
Has anyone found success on this topic? WM or Android...
Would be very interested, since there is a free NTRIP feed available in Switzerland... anyone?
*bump* it up
Been there still trying. Problem is no carrier phase off internal gps.

If you are confused just ask questions and I will do my best to answer them. I am in the ag industry and deal with RTK networks and different ways of connecting them and tons of different gps units on a daily basis.

Nope PDA with support for external GPS with a builtin reciever that even sees glonass satellites (russian constelation). That was made specifically to do RTK mapping. It does have a GSM radio for data to connect to the cors.
Phone positioning using CORS
To perform a CORS (Network Reference correction we need a GGA stream from the GPS in your device. This allows us to remove the anomalies and provde the correction stream. As phones use a sirf II chip or similar they do not have input capability to output the NMEA stream to achieve this.
This one works great! it will connect to an Rtk receiver and get the nmea string from it or will use the internal GPS to be able to register on the CORS network. It will then stream the corrections over Bluetooth to a receiver or even a repeater radio. It won't however correct the internal GPS. http://antrip.dyndns.biz/Home/DownloadTrial

Radios, Signal Strength, Task Bar Indicators

Hi
We all have these wonderful devices we now carry in our pockets
I'm a programmer and have had most every IPAQ PPC there was
So the software is not new or usually present a major obstacle to me
or do I suspect to most people who have had a PC for many years.
What I find as a potential great source of info is the indicators in the task bar
Problem is if I understand correctly there is a limited number of indicators and so several must serve to show multiple states of multiple functions.
The recent addition of a decimal percentage battery indicator was a great
improvement over the battery bar type indicators.
Why not a numerical signal strength indicator??
I'm also unclear not on the differnt types of sinal protocol types
G, H, E, 3G etc (I'm on AT&T)
As far I understand the availability of different signal types
is determined by local availability (cell network) What I would really like clarified is which are preferable or which have dominance over which?
Which are voice which are data?. What choice does the user have in
the prioritising or selection of one over the other?
(what do the damm letters stand for <BG>)
I'd love to get a better understanding of what control and status
is provided by the radio section to the PPC section of the phone.
(if thats a reasonable separation) A very simplistic block diagram
might help?
I've noticed there doesn't seem to be a radio benchmarking program
for our phones?
I sure its not because we don't have a lot of very smart chefs out there,
but I get the feeling its more because its too dependent on a users location and carrier and ???.
Anybody else have any answers or can point me to some info
or possibly a better choice of forum?
I'm sure I'm not the only person interested. I apologise if its
"all just sitting out there" Theres so much info out there it depends on
"which door you enter the maze from" Appreciate any pointers or breadcrums
Thanks
KJL
You have this :
MyDevice - Windows - FieldTest.exe
With this app you can make some measuring network and cell base on towers, 2G and 3G too...

FUN APP: HD2 Pilot Flight Display using GPS

!! FUN APPLICATION, NOT INTENDED TO BE USED IN REAL WORLD AVIATION !!
For all those flight-sim enthusiasts out there: I have created this PFD (primary flight display) which shows the speed, the altitude the coards and the attitude similar to a real PFD display in an airplane cockpit.
Although the application has been created and tested on an HTC HD2, it might work on other devices as well. Internel or external GPS and the HTC G-Sensor are required. It is planned to add a serial communication channel to a PC server component which allows to use this little proggy with MS Flight Simulator displaying the flight parameters so you can get rid of the cockpit panel on your primary display.
Just keep in mind that this is the first version of the program, so there might be *some* improvement potential.
A screenshot of the program is also attached.
Pls let me know what you think about it.
Thanks.
As a pilot I cannot find any sense in this, sorry m8.
Useless for aviation.
Useful might be an HSI-App, an RAIM-availability-check-App, a NOTAM-APP and so on. An artificial horizon on a handheld device... No, not good...
Title correction...
It is just for fun, not intended for real world aviation.
I will change the title so that it becomes more clear.
As an airbus pilot I like it! Lots of scope for further development, keep up the good work !
when I read your discrip, I had something totaly dif pictured in my mind. guess Im falling back on my sail plane lesson days.
I had round face dial and a yaw bubble pictured.
While this is cool, I would prefer to see the old analog style with an altimeter that you can set your start altitude and a yaw bubble, rather than the HUD style. just IMO.
And yes this is just for fun.
Keep it up, I will follow your project with intrest.
cheers
Good Work mate
While some are critical in their opinion I'm pleased with your app.
Keep up the good work mate and for all others who are not so encouraging ...... what do you want for an app a full blown flight simulator, the guys making an effort to develop something and sharing it for a free with us so to help him out at least .... I mean at least encourage him and make some constructive criticisms.
It doesn't cost to be nice and help to motivate others...........
Customize it
Just as a hint for those of you, who would want to use other bitmaps. I have designed the application in a way which allows you to modify or extend it. If you look into the applications program folder, you will find an XML file describing the layout of the display. You may also change or add bitmaps. The bitmaps are all located in the
HTML:
resources
subfolder. If you change the size of the offset of bitmaps, you will have to adjust some values in the XML file as well.
As you can see there all items are drawn in 3d space.
However, I am working on a HSI as suggested before. I will post it later this week.
Known issue:
- After running the application 3 or 4 times, OpenGL is not working properly anymore (not able to create rendering context). This is an issue of OpenGL. You have to restart your device for OpenGL to work again. If anyone has a solution, please let me know.

It is planned to add a serial communication channel to a PC server component which allows to use this little proggy with MS Flight Simulator displaying the flight parameters so you can get rid of the cockpit panel on your primary display.
Thanks.

That would be awesome!
Cool app
Certainly would be better than no attitude information in the event of a vacuum and/or elec failure.Even if just to make flying the performance instruments a bit easier.
I would defintely like to see a HSI app possibly with an open (editable)waypoint database.Anyone interested!?
Keep up the good work!
I love it. Thanks so much...
I just wonder if settings could be made permanent until being changed again so as to start the application without my having to select REAL and AVERAGE everytime.
And as a proud HTC HD2 owner, the display could me made much
larger indeed...
Congratulations and thanks again.
This is a fine app with a lot of potential esp. for UL-pilots as an emergency backup if UL-airplane-pfd fails.
Would be nice if indicators are bigger and the layout equals to Flymap, Skymap or MGL-layout
There is enough place for a nice big yaw indicator. Maybe You can get some code from GPS-tracker V2.0 (MooNah) in this forum, it already has a full working PFD incorporated.
Good luck with further devs., when next version is online I will try it in my gyroplane.
I think it's fun!!!!!
next step: build a flightsim for wm where we could use this
You will be in real danger....if you do so.

As you will easily see, this PFD horizon responds to gravity, that is, to the accelerometers installed in the phone.
It has no gyros, no way to provide PITCH ATTITUDE, WHATSOEVER.
If you keep the phone perfectly vertical and quickly move forward (accelerate) it will SURELY show a pitch up...pretty much the same effects that a stand-by compass shows when changing speed (remember that?...accelerate-north, decelerate-south).
You will have the very same pitch information as the one given by a bottle full
af water suspended from a string, or a can of Coke : and it will KILL YOU as well as your passengers (if any), not to mention people on the ground.
The only usable parts of this FUN APP (as named by the author himself ) in aviation are:
1. True track (not magnetic heading).
2. Altitude (neither QNH, nor QFE related, but of course; unless your flying field happens to be at sea level and actual atmosphere matches the ISA atmosphere parameters exactly). Remember that QNH variations as well as heat will make the GPS readings very different to that of your altimeter, as height of the air column will vary a +/-4% every +/-10 degrees Celsius.
Example. Airplane flying at Flight Level 300. QNH in the area 1023. Terrain at 2000 feet. Atmosphere is ISA+15.
Therefore if we move the 1013.25 setting to 1023 there will be a reading increase from 30.000 feet to 30300 (calibrated altitude, QNH related).
That is 28.300 feet above ground (we start with this as the air column height for the calculation). Since ISA is +15 we add 15/10 times 4% and we have 28300*15/10*4/100= 1698. True altitude is 30300+1698=31988
So we are cruising at FL300, 30.000 feet pressure altitude, 30.300 feet calibrated altitude (QNH related), 31988 above sea level, 29988 feet above ground level.
GPS WILL SHOW 31988 FEET.
3. Ground speed ( neither IAS nor CAS nor EAS nor TAS), as provided by GPS system. Remember that your airplane aerodynamics are related to calibrated speeds....you will stall if too slow ore destroy the airframe if to quick !!!! But you can navigate and make good your track, of course.
Hope I have made myself understood....and that you read this at the earlier !!!
Hi!
It quite very good if the second part under we have the route. I am using the Oziexplore program, it can creates the route, and apear on screen. if this soft applied to that once, could be perfected!
Thanks
great app mate..just for fun...
Nice work thank you. On future can you make like pilot cocpit with all dash boards like in Flith simulator game if this possible. Thank you

Thanks.

Indeed as an Ultralight-Gyroplane-Pilot I like this app and since the Horizon-tab in GPS-Tracker by MooNah doesn´t work right now this could be alternative as a a last resort-backup if glass-cockpit instruments (MGL-Avionics) fail ...... (better to have this than nothing at all and I also have Flymap PPC on my HD2 if main Moving map Nav. fails)
This app has great potential since it reads the infos from G-sensor and GPS.
For the future dev. if I might add my wishlist:
1. Add to screen: slide-indicator and compass, Altitude
2. slightly more refined graphics
As a start: BRAVO, hope You have the patience to go on developing this nice app ( like Dunc001, that made in 100s of hours of work a professional weather app - Duncans Weather Panel - see there - that is more reliable than many professional aviation weather briefings).
I bookmarked this thread and hope for further developments by U
Congratulations

a other solution for Windows Mobile is "Inclinometer77" -

This App goes in the right direction, but unfortunately not to use without Gyro in a Plane, but a nice game for pilots ;-)

SENSE-Plugin for Trapster - anyone can do it ?

Well, I am entitled "Senior Member" but still have no clue how to program apps beside some smaller mods I did (which are already superceded by the geniousses here )
I have downloaded "Trapster" on my HD2 to prevent further costly tickets from radar-shots.
Although GPS-Tracker 3 has included radar-warning I still dunno where I can get reliable and up to date data for this function and how to build up a data-bench that updates automatically (in GPS-Tracker by MooNah You have to do this manually)
Now the idea is simple but building an app not doable for me (not enough knowledge, not enough time to collect enough knowledge )
The app should work like this:
1. On home screen a switch to switch on GPS (or using GPS-Tracker as interface ?) AND loads radar-data from an updateable file on SD-card (preferrably Trapster ´cause it´s a very active community and data are very reliable also concerning "hidden mobile police traps preferred spots" )
2. Once movement is dedected the plug-in checks Your position toward any radar-trap and - even if HD2 is in Standby/Screen off - alerts by acoustic and graphic announcement, programmable in distances 1km/500m/200m before radar-trap and then switches to standby/lockscreen/screen off or whatsoever.
3. PlugIn should be VERY small in size and work in all modes (screen off/lockscreen/standby)
4. GPS-Tracker would be the perfect basis but methinks MooNah is not going to implement a fuction like this
Let´s see if someone hops onto this idea .................
