So I am running the latest DamageControl ROM. I am trying to load CoPilot Live and it says this program can't be unpacked. Has anyone using a 2.1 ROM gotten CoPilot Live to work? I realize I could use Google Maps or Sprint Navigator but CoPilot is nice because you don't have to be connected to a network because the maps are all loaded on the SD card.
I am running the leaked RUU. Copilot showed up even before the market fix and installed just fine.
I had the same error. I'm just using Sprint Nav and Google maps. I would like to know if there's a fix for this also.
me too.. i miss co-pilot.. not that google nav or sprint nav are bad.. but like the fact i can turn on gps and go..

I just saw a youtube clip about someone who installed this on his droid;
Anybody tried it on the N1?
Where did you get it from?
Should be an update to your Maps app available in the Market, it didn't install for me, said package wasn't signed correctly, I was using a rom with known issues with Google Services though so I'm reflashing right now to try again. You can go to buzz.google.com in your browser to use their web app. Has a pretty clean interface.
installed and works fine on a non rooted nexus.
Got it workin on mine now too, pretty sweet.
I just installed it on my rooted nexus one here in canada and found several other people testing it out. Seems to work fine just not sure how often I will bother to load it up.
Installed on Cyanogen Beta 4 with my theme, and works perfect. Installed from market
Downloading... Installing.... WORKS.
Buzz works great through Maps, but has anyone got it working properly from the Browser via buzz.google.com? When I try to post a buzz through maps, it goes right through. But through browser, I just get the little grey "processing" spiral.
This Maps 4.0 have Navigation out of USA? Thanks
Weird... I can't find google maps on the market at all - no update or anything...
Do they roll it out gradually to people?
Or maybe it's because I installed the 2.1-patch1 myself? (didn't wait for the official notification)
My phone is stock non rooted and not unlocked.
testing.... no
Got the update last night in the android market, this is pretty cool.
Google maps is not in the market of free applications. Although free, you need to have access to the paid apps market.

should be in the market. look for google maps and see which version you have installed. should be 4.0 .. if so do menu layers and buzz .. and thats it... start buzzing if you wish.
I've just restored apps after a wipe and my Google Maps is showing as 3.4. I go to market and it's not offering me an update. What can I do?
NOTE: Mods I don't know exactly where to post this. Sorry.
I live in South Korea. I use Windows Mobile 6.1 on a Blackjack III(epix) Korean version. Yes, English programs install just fine. I have used Google Latitude for just over one year. Worked great. Then Latitude / Google Maps 4.0/4.1 came out. Since April I haven't been able to update my location from my phone. The "Join Latitude" is not available in the menus anywhere like it used to be. Now it's just generic Google Maps with GPS. NO latitude functionality whatsoever. To update my location I must log into google from a desktop. Yes, foolish.
Has anyone else had similar problems? Any solutions? I'm looking for a Latitude 3 cab if anyone has it, I'd love to have it and see if it still works. I regret updating to 4.
Really sucks being a lone exception...
I have not found anyone else online having this problem.
I used to use TomTom maps on Winmo phones... but i dont think it's on Android yet?
So whats another good map/navigation app? It cant be like google maps where it relies on a net connection to download the map, it needs to have the map with the app itself like TomTom does. It takes up a load of space, but i've got a large SD card so not a problem.
I use copilot and sometimes motonav. Motonav is bit slower than copilot, both speedcams and full postcodes.

yeah there are many navigation apps e.g.
copilot
navigon
ndrive
motonav
google navigation
sygic mobile maps
iGo my Way
I've tested a lot of them and my favorites are definitely Copilot, NDrive, Google.
If you've updated Google Maps via Market, you've received this blue arrow in
the app list. And the navigation with it works like charm. Also Copilot works great.
Much more features and options, but sometimes it shows me stupid ways to drive.
The very best I think is NDrive. Fast and beautiful app and the best navigation.
So if you don't want to pay, use Google. If you are willed to pay you should
try Copilot Live or NDrive 10
+1 for CoPilot

I'm using NDrive. The maps are very complete even on remote locations. Well at least in Europe, I haven't tryed it anywhere else.
It works offline. My data connection is very costly here, I don't always get service and it drains the battery so offline was a must for me.
Google works nice except for the online thing. I haven't tryed copilot.
Thanks, i tried 3 of them... Copilot, Ndrive, and Sygic Mobile Maps...
Copilot i think is the best, the most complete and polished. Followed closely by Ndrive.
But i've not really tested them while driving yet so i'll have to see what one has the best routes...
For some reason copilot is not working properly one my phone. It's keep crashing, i am unable to download maps for uk. There are even some comments one android market regarding this application, some users say they got the same problem after last update. I will give ndrive a try, maybe itd will worki for uk.
http://www.alk.eu.com/images/copilot/laneindicator-sm.png <= does this view work for you on the x10? mine always looks very buggy (because of the big screen i guess)
Looking for Navigation application
hi guys,
For past few days I am looking for a navigation application which doesnt cost the data charges. I found one such application in Papago but not working in my Xperia X10 rooted mobile on version A.0.24.
Would appreciate if someone can help me installing a nice navigation app...

You should try MOTONAV it has resolution 854x480 fits X10 perfectly, but its kind of hard to find maps for it.
EDIT:wrong post selection, sorry!

Navigon...very good.
sent from my 2.2 X10
Navigon really good +1
Copilot is a paid application. Is there any link from where I can download it free.
I dont beleive this has been mentioned here... Apologies if it has! *mods please delete if duplicate*
A free UK sat nav alternative to Google Maps Navigation.
(Android 2.2 +) Download and install maps after the software installation via the NavFree store (Map also free). Then no need for a data connection to navigate the maps.
might be useful when out in the wilds!
I picked it up via expansys - just google 'NavFree expansys'
APK is 65Mb so free space needed! Due to the size I can't attach.
Cheers

I've downloaded and installed this, thanks. Unfortunately, when I try to run it, I just get a black screen for a few seconds then I'm back to my home screen. Has anyone else had the same problem? I've not downloaded any maps yet (waiting for a wifi connection!), but I doubt if that's the problem.
Edit:
I've since found THIS discussion. It seems this doesn't work with Gingerbread at the moment, but they're working on it.
Hi there!
I bought an android mirror, which also has GPS antenna. It didn't came with a GPS app, so I tried Sygic 1.7 (which I like) and Copilot v9. BUt they work slow, and from time to time the GPS signal gets lost...
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/2014-Phisung-Android-Mirror-Car-Camera-Recorder-GPS-Navigation-Bluetooth-Hand-free-WiFi-FM-Dual-lens/32213592146.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.gcS3UZ
I has only 1 GB of RAM and Android 4.0.4. And working slow. But it works
Can you please recommend some GPS Apps with updated maps, that work on this 'old' device? I just need to see the map. NO other extra functions like traffic, realview navigation etc. Just simple and updated maps
Haven't tried google maps, because it works very slow, and I would have need it to download the offline data
Thank you
After flashed a new firmware. than I pout NAVIGON Amazon Europe 8.5.2 which is working great.
