Kinda embarrassing but I've tried hosting with photo bucket and when I put url in it says type of photo not supported. I've tried jpeg and png. Don't like the thumbnails u can put up. How do u get the large photos posted like a lot of others post look like.

I guess this normally isnt such an issue but Ive been using the slide2unlock program which is pretty neat. Anyways it can do full screen caller id pictures which is great. However, it ends up just zooming in on my picture and looks like crap. The pic I used is a 2mp picture so its gotta be fairly large (well larger than the screen thats for sure)... Anyways anyway in general to get higher quality images out of WM6? And if anyone know in relation to Slide2Unlock as well that would be great
Thanks
anyone know?
do u have the link to this program?
I guess to save space the phone saves the contact picture with certain compression and size. Slide2Unlock just use the contact picture that you have assigned to that contact and stretches it because it's too small.
I belive you have no option to use a bigger image, it's a OS "feature" to save space/memory and improve speed.
But I may be extremely wrong.
It's not what is asked, but I suggest you to use Photo Contact Pro
with the caller id actived... in the S2U the image in fullscreen mode.... its to bad like a gaussing blur image... i re-size for 150x159 pixels... and the problem is the same...
how to have a highehr quality images in the caller id..... thanx

I hope there are useful info in there.
I'm after an interactive version of the stock android picture frame, one that will enable me to jump to the picture's location in gallery.
I know htc has this in their sence, so it should be possible to port it. Unfortunately I don't have the dev skills..
Can somebody help me out?

It's not what you requested, but I use Desktop Visualizer to make shortcuts of all sizes to apps with my images.
As for a picture frame mod, it'd be great if pic frames could be placed with any sizes chosen and have many shortcut options, instead of only apps like I do with DesktopVizualizer.
thanks mate, its a great app.
Unfortunately for my purpose the original image has to be edited to get the photoframe...
I'd like to be able to change photo as I please, so this might be a bit cumbersome for my use. On the plus side, it can be set up to link to anything such as quickdial or text, and that is nice...
hey guys. we just got a Xoom for my wife and are having a blast so far. i know we're coming in late in the game.
I did a lot of searching and have come up with all sorts of answers as to what is the proper resolution for the wallpaper.
I don't care too much about the perfect format to include all of my image in the wallpaper...what I care about is once I choose an image for the wallpaper, that it look sharp and detailed and not blurry or full of artifacts because honeycomb is stretching the image.
no matter what size image i've tried this far, 99% of the time what ends up actually shown as my wallpaper is a zoomed in portion of my image, and because of the stretching to fit the screen it doesn't look too good.
your input is appreciated. likewise if there is anywhere to just go and get Xoom-sized decent wallpapers I would appreciate a link too
thanks!
Same for me! Whatever resolution, big or small, it just wants me to crop the image, I tried searching for this for a while but I came up with no solution. Hopefully someone here knows.
EDIT: TRY Wallpaper Wizardrii
If you click on the little + icon at the top right of the screen, you see the entire wallpaper. It zooms the wallpaper and i dont know why it was implemented in such a demented way. Everything you put ends up looking low res and washed out. There is a guide that shows how to add a black bar to the bottom portion of a wallpaper so it fits the screen properly and looks sharp, but this doesnt work well in portrait.
Check it out here: http://www.xoomforums.com/forum/motorola-xoom-graphics/320-getting-wallpapers-fit-just-right.html
Also see this app on the market: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.twistedapps.wallpaperwizardrii
I heard this app works well.
Hmm! I have the same problem but with movies... They look unsharp a little bit...also on the youtube app even in hd...
My gf just updated her phone to ICS and she kinda hates it.
The biggest gripe is the profile pictures, very few have them and she doesnt want to see the placeholder image everywhere.
So, is there a way to completely disable her phone from displaying contact pictures everywhere?

Click to collapse
Hopefully I'm understanding... If you edit a contact, and press on the picture image next to their name, you will get a menu to delete it.
They dont have pics to begin with and she doesnt have a desire to take pics of all of her contacts. They all display a black silhouette of a person , but wewant to see nothing at all. This displays in text convos, her list of People and when people call her.

I believe the default pic is embedded in the contacts.apk. I've been wondering how to change that also.
I've seen the process and it's been a while since I have done it.
Basically you need to decompile the contacts.apk, replace the icon (under /res directory) then recompile the apk and copy back on to your phone.
This is a very generic description of what needs to be done. Google decompile apk, or replace contacts icon in contacts.apk and do some reading. You'll be a hero.
Also if you really don't want anything to show up as picture, maybe replace it with a transparent.png.
I'm gonna pipe in here and say that Mr. Steele is exactly correct. The picture you see it a default in the contacts.apk, however, while you could fix this, if you are unfamiliar with decompiling apk's, recompiling, and signing, then you could have an issue. ADB will be your best bet to pull the apk successfully, but be careful with system apk's as they can be troublesome to get to work properly without sending yourself into a bootloop.
Meh, i was hoping for a setting change to just not display the image to begin with.
I have an Atrix running GB and im now not looking forward to staring at that placeholder image the entire time i use my phone...
Photo App that can use a Half transparent image as "background" "gauge/pattern/jig".
Hi,
1st of all, excuse me if beeing in the wrong section.
I tried some "PiP and Panorama" photo apps already, but I search for somethign different.
I need a photo app, where you can put any image as a half-transparent background, while taking photos.
The half-transparent image should act as an "gauge/pattern/jig" and should not influence the photos taken while using the half-transparent image.
I remember the panorma app from my old Sony w800i, where, while taking panorama photos, every next photo beeing shot, was shwoing a half of the previous photo, so you coudl attach the next shot properly.
What I am trying to achieve with this ? It is for a little project, to add images into another image, which otherwise would involve lots of photoshopping i.e. Distort/Skew/Perspective and so on.
Whit this app Im searching for, a lot of photoshopping would not be needed, as I could use the half transparent image in the camera background, to take photos from the right angle without needing to use Distort/Skew/Perspective later.
I really hope humans understand this wall of text
Thanks in advance.
Photochron from the PlayStore did the job...more or less :/
