I have HTC TyTN 2 with rom from Josh. It works good with all 6-contact sim cards, but i have 8-contact (newer i suppose) sim card and device freezes at boot. Before that i had another rom, and it was the same story. Sorry for possibly stupid question, but I own this device for 1 day. Can anyone help me?

Which rom are you trying to use?
I know this is a stretch, but did you ever put a lock on your SIM card? So if you boot up the phone you need to enter a code? Maybee a friend tried to get in the phone and for security purposes the phone burns out the SIM...
thanks man look the custom rom im using now is CoreDroid_Desire_HD_GB_2.3.3_V6.6_RV, the first one was gingerbread 2.3 and it works good with any sim card so then i put the coredroid hd but i dont know what happen to it and now i restored to original att software and i did the same steps but it cant read any sim card..
When you rooted, did you set S-off? If not, that could be causing the problem; one of the ROMs might have been from another carrier and set to only accept their SIM cards. When you boot into bootloader (volume-down + power) you should see something like this at the top:
ACE PVT SHIP S-OFF
If you don't see that, re-run the hack kit and select S-OFF from the menu.

I have a German HTC Dream / Magic that is simlocked to Vodafone.
I got the phone without card but was able to access the phone just fine, that is till silly me decides to
factory reset the phone before proceeding with the planed cynanogenmod installation.
Now the phone keeps telling me to insert a sim card, even when i insert a (UK) Vodafone sim.
Question, how can i get around this? Will it only work with a German Vodafone card?

I bought a HTC 7 Pro second Hand. Here some Details without an SIM-Card inside:
Software: Windows Phone 7.5
OS-Number: 7.10.8783.12
Operator: Swisscom
Bootloader: 5.11.2250.0
I come from Germany and this Phone comes from Switzerland. Not sure, but Swisscom is only in Switzerland available isnt it?
When i start the Phone with or without SIM Card, i got an Massage, that there is no SIM Card or invalid SIM Card inside.
So have the Phone a SIM Lock? or something else? Hardware defect? How can i check this?
Is there a way, that i can use the Phone in Germany with any SIM Card?
