Download and install the Vodafone radio (it works on Orange too apparently) and maybe install a WM6.1 ROM first.
This should hopefully sort it out for you.
this should help you... No Sounds on Kaiser
fixed sound
it would appear to be fixed
have installed a new 6.1 rom with the radio that was suggested and well bugger me it works
thanks to the members of xda developers i have learned a lot and i am very grateful
cheers guys
No service error with 1.64 & 1.58 radios???
..That said I flashed to the WinMobile 6.1 ROM (Vodafone) with it's 1.64 radio but I got a 'No Service' warning (I'm T-mobile UK). I then tried the 1.58 radio, but again I got the same error???
I then flashed back to my own cooked ROM (OS WinMobile 6.0) with a 1.27 Radio and all is fine again.
I know that you can't use a new Radio Rom with OS WinMobile 6, as the phone freezes on boot up.. maybe I did something wrong?? (also there was no sound?)
Cheers
Ody
no problems here all working fine but i flashed the wm6.1 first then the radio after
Dial tone on a cell phone?????
sorry i mean ringing tone in the ear piece
Hi all,
I have just upgraded to the official WM6.1 release. First everything was working fine, but after a little while phone began to dial numbers like crazy and the device became unresponsive.
Any thoughts?
Has anyone else experienced the same?
Many thanks,
Chris
If I understand your symptons, I think I had the very same problem some time ago.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=384791
I only fixed it by getting a replacement. Later, it turned out that my photo button was 'broken'.
Check all your buttons, maybe the problem is situated there. Maybe not...

I think there were other reports of this in one of the two main threads on the official release. Have you installed any other keyboards/SIPs?
I wouldn't blame this on hardware yet, especially if you don't have the problem with other ROMS.
Gents, I also flased the new official rom but have had a number of occassions where the device has stopped responding. Soft reset is the only thing that resolves. Sometimes it freezes, as if it is 'hanging', then suddenly works again. Not sure why. Tried a hard reset but still have same problems. Thinking bout flashing back to the WM 6 rom. Any thoughts?

I would flash back to the WM6.1 ROM.
Hard reset before customization. aka At the screen where is says "tap the screen to begin to setup your device."
If that still doesn't work then after you are done with the customization flash the 1.65.16.25 radio and see if that works.
skype and tcpmp dont work. lots of freezes and lots of error reports wanting to be sent to microsoft. the most adventurous firmware uograde that i have ever experienced and it ate up the whole of my sunday and it is yet to eat up more of my time.
very irresponsible of htc to release something as unripe as this. i doubtv anything got tested before the release.

An application not working is not HTC's fault. This is an OS upgrade and vendors need to upgrade their apps. I don't believe I have found an official/leaked 6.1 ROM that DOES run Skype....only cooked versions.

Hi,
I installed some other keyboard some time ago. But that was before flashing to this new upgrade. I suppose that they will be gone when doing so.
The thing is that it is working fine for some time, about 10 minutes after i flashed to this new upgrade and it begins to dial numbers.
If I do a soft reset the problem begins when I press any key.
Many thanks for any help!
where do you get offical 6.1?
where do you get the offical wm 6.1?

I had exact same issues, the device dialed all kinds of numbers, alphabets, etc and would not respond for about 5-7 seconds at random times.
I hear someone got that issue fixed by changing SPL and/or chaning Page Pool size to 16MB.
I hope someone can confirm that and make that a sticky before I revert back to this ROM, I am using 3.02 now.

Didn't change the SPL but changed to 16MB pagepool. The intermittent sluggishness is cured about 90%. Wish there was way to fix this 100%

This is the same issue I had. The freeze ups were driving me crazy. I got rid of it and am very happy camper again.
Beware changing SPL...
The file on rapidshare, SSPL-KAIS.exe may be infected with a virus. Trend identified it containing the PAK_Generic.005 virus/malware. Your mileage may vary...

i am aware of that. but somehow very popular 3rd party software just should be taken into consideration, not to annoy most of the updaters.
apart from the random unresponsivenesses, crashes and freezes, what i find pretty unacceptable, is that you cannot restore a backup from the old system although i was given backup software from htc itself. and we are talking about an upgrade from 6.0 to 6.1. had they called it 7, i would have understood the incompatibility.
i am new to the windows mobile world, so i guess i need to keep shut and swallow what is being offered as i dont have any other choice yet.
but the future is looking bright and we will look back at these occasions and have a laugh when sometime soon everything will be functioning seamlessly with the linux based android and palm operating systems. i heard that nokia too wants to join the fun. lets see.
for now, i will need to revert back to 6.0
I tried to start my rather new xda diamond today, but the screen was grey with sand and I could not switch it on.. After few hours, I connected the cell to the computer and it gave me a message about the GWES.EXE problem. And it switched off again. Now there is no reaction wenn I try to swich it on.
What is this an GWES.EXE error?
Should I send the xda back to the seller? Is something wrong with the hardware or with the software?
Thanks in advance!

It is an OS error and usually can be fixed with reflashing of ROM. Diamond roms are aplenty here and if you check the XDA Wiki you will find official ROMs as well
But since you Diamond is too new, better send it to the dealer and request for system repair. But you may have to wait long before getting it back

Hello. Yesterday I want to use my TC and it was off. Tried turning it on- nothing. When I plug it in to charge the orange light stays on for a second and then goes off. When its plugged in and I take the battery out, then stick it right back in the "smart mobility" screen pops up, it vibrates, then it goes blank again. Tried a hard reset and still nothing. Please help me. What´s wrong?
No injuries to my device.........
Thank you......
How old is the device? Did you flash a new ROM or something? Might be a battery problem. Try with a spare battery or something. Borrow one from a friend if possible.
The device is quite new, I think I bought it in april 2008. I flashed the new ROM from official htc web site in september.
I will try another battery.
Thank you

Hmmm....you flashed a new ROM from the official HTC website? Did your phone ever work since then? You might have tried to install WM 6.1 which isn't meant for the polaris since it ships with WM 6. Maybe that's what's gone wrong?
The phone worked with this upgrade very well.

6.1 was officially released for polaris i do belive, so this wont be the problem.
marekswan - have u tried leaving the battery out for half an hour or more, then put it back in and leave for min 3 hours.
Heavy usage does create problems for our polaris barrery, have u noticed it getting warm on heavy use (constant gps use for example)
If that doesnt work, and its in guarantee, take it back as they can test battery for fault and give u a replacement. I had a faulty battery after about 6 months and got a new one.
Just a thought, had u installed any new programs or flashed a rom? (soz cant remember ur sig whilst writing.)
Hi I have a problem with my O2 Xda II Mini,
Well here's the situation, my dad gave me his old O2 Xda II Mini.
So it is very old, so I recharged it with the charger connecting to the O2.
Then I entered the O2 OS, and it pops up a thing like self customize stuff.
After I confirmed the action, the O2 said it have to restart. Then I went to a screen that is blank with the word "Serial" on top and "v1.00" below. When I used a usb cable, the word "serial" changed to "usb", but to no avail my computer cannot detect the O2. I did all those restart or even hard- restart, the screen restarted and only went back to the "serial" screen.
I went through the forums and had a look at all those Rom and stuff. And I still can't figure out where the problem is. Please help me, thank you.
Sorry if i posted this on the wrong place, I really need help on getting this O2 fixed.

That's the bootloader.. maybe you can try to do a ROM update.
same here
i had that problem also, in symbian phones they call it "contact service", what u need to do is to find the right ROM w/ radio so it can work again,
